This is total garbage if you have done all the work to get the exotic weapon and then all the time grinding for XP and materials, it should not be reset to zero. That is a terrible way to treat your customers! Exotic shard sure, some more materials sure but not reset to zero. What about people like me who at least 12 exotics, they took a huge investment to get where they are and now back to zero? Plus it costs me in Strange Coins and Glimmer for the privilege!!! Even worse you have to wait until Xur lets you do it.

Just let us keep the perks and maybe make us relevel the damage upgrades. I don't think anyone would mind.
-
I made a thread suggesting ideas for bungie to implement that would add value to trading in an already maxed out exotic. I got mostly troll responses. What is your secret OP?
-
1 RespuestaCertainly making that hamster wheel feel even more apparent. With the DLC coming out, I guess I was hoping we could feel the progress we've already made through the game, and now just look forward to new content - not reworking our previous progress. I'd like to log in and see some changes that make me think "Hey, that sounds fun to do!". This on the otherhand is gonna be a chore. No one can really be excited to do this.

2 RespuestasI couldn't agree more. I have 16 exotics, most of which are fully upgraded and I'm finishing bounties for two more and most of my friends have at least that many. If I understand correctly, we'll need to buy a shard to get the upgraded version for 7 coins plus you'll need a shard at the end for the last upgrade node for another 7 coins. That's 224 coins for the exotics I already have. With 3 characters running the weekly heroic every week I can get a guaranteed 27 which means it would take me 9 weeks to get all the coins I need, assuming I don't get any from any other source and I don't spend any on any other gear Xur sells. That's not counting the glimmer cost, either. At around 7k per piece and a cap of 25k at one time I'll be farming glimmer like crazy. I already spent weeks farming ascendant mats and destination mats to get these items where they're at. I realize I don't have to upgrade them but c'mon why make it so hard?
-
Reset is bullshit. They can't make more content to keep you playing. So they make you reset your gear. This is a laugh of a game.
-
Agreed, it should require a drop from the Raid or one of the new Strikes at maximum difficulty, as well as having the item already maxed out and then going to see Banshee at the tower and just pay the fee along with an exotic shard maybe. I personally have almost all the weapons and most of the armor, and having to re-level all of them (on top of the new ones I may get) is a colossal PITA and a very much unwanted & unwarranted timesink in a game that's already far too grindy - and I have a lot more free time to play this game than most.

Editado por Kessi: 12/10/2014 6:50:36 AMAll that this exotic weapon change is going to do is number 1.) upset people 2.) Create elitist groups for raids and other high level activities. Be prepared to see these two questions a lot in the new DLC: Billy: Hey can I join you guys for a raid? Johnny: Do you have new maxed out exotics? Only playing with people who have those.

5 RespuestasEditado por BrianFantastic: 12/5/2014 11:07:04 AM>>INB4 HURR DURR FANBOY >>INB4 OP CANT INB4 Let me start by saying that at first, i didn't understand what this exotic reset was. And i was hella mad about it. I was the first to jump down bungies throat. But then the mob mentality subsided and i was able to let it sink it, and thought about why i enjoyed playing this game. Its the grind! I think what all of this boils down to, is that people don't want newbies to drop into the game and grab a gun with 300 attack from xur or on the first run through of the VoG, because patrons have worked hard to get to where they are. Unfortunatley, this is a storm in a teacup. Its all been blown way out of proportion (Who'd of thought such a thing could happen on the internet, eh?). You're losing 2 perks, in exchange for a 300 base attack weapon. And where exactly does it say that the new perks available will be the same as the old ones? Maybe there will be 2 of the same, plus a few additional nodes in the skill tree Why exactly does that suck so hard? Wouldn't it be better if you didn't have to carry people through nightfalls and raids? What difference does it make what others have? If your that much of a badass guardian, re-levelling your new bit of gear should be a piece of p1ss. And hey, you don't have to do it! I suspect that all the folks whining about the exotic "reset" come from purely FPS backgrounds. In RPG's this is the norm. You have paid for an MMORPG. If you want a shooter, buy call of duty. Its pretty much the same price as TDB and less than an expansion pass. Its simple. You get to grind more. Which is what most people enjoy doing who buy this kind of game. Bungie haven't gone about it in the best way. But its happening. Yes they could of just added an additional node to existing weapons which were maxed to let players keep their perks. But they didn't. Get over it. No you shouldn't have to part with your hard won strange coins for an exotic shard. But you do. Get over it. 7K Glimmer isn't that much, even with the glimmer cap especially over 2 or 3 characters. Get over it. The exotic 'reset' won't really effect the already lvl 30's & 29's that much. And if your character is below that, it'll be a GOOD THING for you. You will be able to level faster and get the kicks that you got from VoG the first few runs in the new raid. When you get to the level cap, the game isn't that much fun any more. TL:DR The 'reset' is happening whether we like it or not. GET OVER IT.

2 RespuestasHere's an idea? Let's give everyone at bungie a promotion but reset their pay scale to entry level. That sounds fun right Deej? You just need a good recommendation from your supervisor who only comes into the office once a week and only reviews employees at random and then you can start to work on your raises again. Simple.

1 RespuestaI think I did read somewhere that upgrading your weapon is pure xur luck aswell as in he will only upgrade certain weapons when he is at the tower so there's a chance each week you won't be able to upgrade anyway... so more RNG bs we have to put up with if that's true... so I have to wait how many weeks to upgrade my 11 or 12 already max exotics... WASTE OF TIME... Why can't #BUNGIE do something useful like a bigger vault for people like me that like to collect?
-
2 RespuestasYour perks will reset which does suck but it'll have a higher attack out of the box then its previous max over 300
-
Just make us spend some glimmer and an ascendent shard with Xur (at anytime and not RNG). Your people, people who still have a small sliver of hope for this game, have been screwed over more times then Kim Kardashian. Don't screw us over again and f*** all of our hard work up on leveling up our exo's. Its bad enough when you released an unfinished exo leveling mechanism without all the details.
-
Bump It's sad cause I literally ordered the dlc now.
-
1 RespuestaI understand it's because they want us to work to our 331 attack weapons... but why can't they just make it so that the perks at least stay, and then we work on raising the attack above 300? not make us wait to make the gun worth using again!
-
Gosh thought the pointless rants about peoples made up theories would stop by now read the updates dont skim! After upgrading an exotic -total xp to max is less -starting damage is 302/323 -lose perks but with new bounty vendor, and we have 10 slots.
-
I know right?! Why not take it to the gun smith and upgrade damage bubbles that are stacked on the weapon?
-
totally agree its unfair to people who have put many time in effort of doing hundreds of bountys to upgrade guns..not to mention the strange coins for telomentry and glimmer and thousands of materials required..it gives a reason 2 be a scrub and never achieve anything then wait for expansion which makes every1 same playing field again except people who did max everything start with way less materials..for example person a farms 2k spinmetal to upgrade weapons....person b buys 2k spinmetal but doesent use on weapons...player b now has 2k bonus spinmetal for expansion and player a has lost all the upgrades he spent with them this gives a huge advantage to noobs who put little or no effort/materials into guns..ive spent bonus 100s of strange coins on weapons which id still have 2 purchase exotic shards if i needed...yet people who didnt spend on upgrades still have them giving them a advantage
-
couldn't agree more... BUNGIE: it seems like you're trying to buy yourselves more time to prepare your dlc by wasting ours even more... i refuse to pay anymore money so you can send us on another repetitive mission to upgrade my guns again. it's despicable and takes the p**s!!!
-
Editado por Hene: 12/5/2014 10:47:29 PMOther than possible no material return I see no problem with the process. Your weapon is still going to be better than a fully upgraded version old tier. It's no different from receiving a better gun in return from your old one. In case you haven't seen the update base weapons upgraded start at 302.
-
I'm resetting everything no new guns the arm for hunters are a joke wth I want my radar helmet thing lol rants... But I agree it sucks bit I want stronger weapons

You just have to re grind the exploding effect on icebreaker and effects like that. It will also not be as long this time.

Bungie wants to make sure if you want +23 Damage Rating on your favorite Exotics that are already maxed out, that you spend a bunch of time playing the worst parts of Destiny just a lot bit more, just to see if you realize just how crap 80% of the game is that you have to suffer through, to be able to enjoy the 20% of it that you do it for...
-
7 RespuestasIts only reset to zero if you buy upgrade from xur... Get your facts straight BRO
-
12 RespuestasIts your choice, not required. Stop being dumb. Nothing is being forced on you. Your upgraded exotic immediately does more dmg upon upgrading, you just lose your perks which will take all of a couple days worth of bounties to gain back. You spastic, whiny, drama loving bitches need to take a deep breath and gain some perspective.

4 RespuestasWhen you choose to "reset" an exotic it's "reset version" is already at a 300 base damage. Only thing you lost out in are the 2 unique upgrades. Js
