Regarding Thorn being "OP"
You used to laugh. You used to mock.
As we reloaded our exotic, you shot us for what seemed like an eternity.
As we fired off our rounds, you laughed as we were missing a 7th bullet, leaving you a one shot on our X.
As we damaged you over time, you laughed as they nerfed it to 3 health drain a tick.
You laughed.
But that's all over, now.
Now, you cry.
Cry that it's overpowered.
"9 shots in the chamber? That's so many kills without reloading!"
"Their reload speed is almost faster than TLW, fix it!"
"Their DOT is killing me now that it's back to 7. Bring it down."
Now we laugh. We laugh at all those who had laughed at us.
As the Thorn pierces your side, and the poison slowly drains your Guardian's Light, ask yourself if abandoning the bounty was smart? If dismantling the withered flower was wise?
Because now it's an exotic. And now, it's a force to be reckoned with.
Thorn is not just a gun. It's a lifestyle.
Learn to live it, or learn to live [i]with[/i] it.

I only play PVE, but I was very underwhelmed when I got it's special upgrade. Not that great in PVE. I have a good TDYK and Fatebringer and they both trump it (and they're purple.)

Two head shot kills, 9 rounds, dot keeps shields down even if you don't kill, amazing reload and stability + a range and stability perk. You can shoot the damn thing across almost any pvp map and have no trouble keeping it on their heads. I enjoy it in pve now, but still say it's op in pvp. (Pocket inf)Glitched it up. again. (Bad juju) Nice buff to ammo, but still lackluster in some areas (Hard light) I think this is actually a decent buff. (Regime) Literally changed almost nothing (Mida) Still a horrible exotic. Why would you ever use this instead of the others? Needs something to make it shine. (Red death) Brought it more in line with other pulse rof. Might be good or bad depending on how you shoot. (Plan C) What? Why was this buffed? Considered one of the strongest pulse rifles already. (Invective) A MAJOR BUFF. The invective was a god like shotgun with only the reload speed gimping it. Now it doesn't have anything to gimp it. The auto rof change was so little you couldn't even tell if you did a before and after comparison. (Ice breaker) More or less just fixing dump upgrade. (Patience and time) the fact that you have to replace the last tier of utility upgrade to get a -blam!-ing lower zoom is bullshit. (Truth) Probably a needed buff to bring it in line with other heavy weapons in pvp and pve [/spoiler]

Could everyone stop complaining of things being OP? Crucible is balanced because everything is OP. The thorn was pretty good even before the buff, it was just more suited for the slow methodical approach. Compared to the hip fire, run and gun Last Word.

7 RespuestasThe Thorn is the only weapon thus far that was a hard fight to get, as you have to earn it through multiple challenges that are not impossible, but sure as hell aren't easy. And now that its actually working as a top tier weapon, Its the only weapon that I truly feel I have that shows any accomplishment. OH, and its freaking badass. Finally.......

I am very happy to see that is finally worthy of the title "exotic". Cry some more... Beatches... [b]edit[/b] I just took a quick look around the feedback section and I don't see anyone crying to get the thorn nerfed. Almost all I see are threads about how stupid the exotic exchange is (wich is true).

yep thorn is now what it should be, acording to the bounty for it its meant to be a hive-based weapon so of course it will kill guardians it fits its backround histery just about perfectly, and as for those that complain about the extra 3 rounds per mag consider this for a moment -> the last round in a mag does extra damage so instead of only 5 rounds before a wicked damage boost, its now 8 rounds before the 'final round' perk takes effect. also how many rare/legendary hand cannons have anywhere between 9-12 rounds per mag but thorn an EXOTIC only had 6 i think the changes to it are fairly ballencend out both speaking for AND against it. it actualy has to be EARNED and i think its power is a reasonable reward for the commitment required to get it, as a PvE player i dont usualy play PvP but thorns power is now worth it. PvE players have finaly got SOMETHING to match the suros regime. they cry 'thorn is op we want it nerfed' yet they camp, they over-use a PvP based op gun. now us PvE players can fight back...... and they complain because they are now facing a challenge. instead of nerfing evrything why not just buff some of the under-powered guns. and dont reset the exotics, people will NEED something decent for the new raid 'the dark below'

1 RespuestaI am sure people that obsessed over the Vex Mythoclast, Pocket Infinity, and SUROS Regime said the same thing....look what happened to them...look how long it took Bungie to get their head out of their 4th point of contacts to fix the VM and PI. How long it may take for the SUROS Regime to be fixed after its severe nerfing only time will tell, probably after they nerf the new AR, Monte Carlo, or Hard Light....as Auto rifles are the most popular weapons in any game.
