hunter super(yes, another post)

Does anyone know if bungie is even considering the fact that the hunter super is way out of control? It really is ridiculous and if you're a hunter and don't agree, you are just Lying to yourself with the hope it will not get nerf'd. Honestly, I can't see an easy fix for it, I think it would be a big coding challenge and they won't touch it. it's not like an auto rifle and the stats can just be adjusted, but maybe. Has bungie even even said they looked and it's ok or any word from them at all on the subject? I have clips of the super in action, so so op. Not even close to a balanced skill. [b]****After a day or two of some really good posts telling me why I'm wrong, I can now see that my saying the Hunter super is OP is not as true as I thought. But in the right hands is pretty damn deadly and I still think the most deadly. [/b]

  • I have all three classes, and I have to tell you that bladedancer is much harder o use than you think. You can potentially die with both hunter supers before you even get a kill. Warlock and Titan usually don't die before they get super kills. Although I do admit it's unfair they can just spam the lunge attack and dodge everything. Needless to say all classes are equal in there own way. It's Rock Paper Scissors, and making any one of the three weaker will throw off balance

  • Hunters are only useful in PvP and Titans and warlocks are useful in both PvP and PvE. What's the issue? I personally think Hunter is the worst class and I have a level 29 Hunter.

      • I use the hunter'a gunslinger class, but I don't play in the crucible whatsoever. However, there is nothing wrong with any of the classes the crucible is just simply an unbalanced mess. Here's a post you wrote about the hunter, there's another about shotguns and fusion rifles and sniper rifles and etc., etc., etc., blah blah blah... There is only one, simple truth; if you are looking for a balanced, competitive multiplayer then look somewhere else. You will not find it in destiny.

        Hunters specials are worthless in PvE but I'm assuming this post is directed at PvP which in that case they aren't as amazing as they seem. Golden gun has three shots, four if you have the exotic helmet which adds a shot which if you don't miss AND there's enough enemies around is just a small 3-4 kills... Which is nothing. As for bladedancer, its decent. I guess... Some people take more than one head and as far as supers go that's a little lacking, don't you think? It doesn't last very long unless you have the perk that makes it last longer for every kill you get but even then the timer goes down pretty fast and if you're on a team who stands in a group and gets massacred then you're on a stupid team. They are pretty easy to kill especially if you have a shotgun or fusion rifle and aim for the head. I've even killed them using a hand cannon and auto. So maybe you've just had bad luck doing with them and like a previous comment said, hunters have to kill other hunters so its not like you're alone. Actually, I hate my hunter and its my last choice for PvE and PvP now. So I don't know. I think you just need to understand that it is a super and not an ability that can be used at all times so it's essentially not a worry and not to mention it can be prevented if you are good enough and so is your team.

        • Blade dancer can only get three kills or more if you guys are all pretty close to each other. I'll give you a few examples. Last night playing control against team A, four of them were huddled around a zone, I used arcblade and massacred their whole -blam!-ing team, following which I did a little electric boogie on their rotting corpses. Example 2: last night against team B, three of them were huddled around a zone, I used arcblade and they all turned and gunned me down before I could get close enough to get a kill. The difference between the two? Team B could aim. It all comes down to aiming guns in the end kiddies. Spoiler alert, you all know what's coming. [spoiler]Git Gud you -blam!-ing noob tard[/spoiler]

            Hunters still take near full damage when in blade dancer or golden gun as opposed to sunsingers taking half and titans being damn near immune Edit: 2 1000 point sprees in last 2 games from blade dancer 😊

          • Nova Bomb kills people through walls and floors and travels quite a ways. Fist of Havok pretty much can't be stopped once it's started, can't jump over it. Golden Gun seems to have really strong aim assist and kills at a distance. Self Revive in PVP is a thing. (That has no place in 'competitive' fps games, Battlefield included. ) But the thing people cry about is STILL Arc Blade? This has to be MW2 Lightweight+Commando Pro PTSD. Every time a guy runs up on someone and melees them, they must hear the nuke siren and cry nerf. :/ Disagree all day, but I give 0 shits.

              Anyway, having played extensively with and against all of the classes and subclasses, I don't think any of them have an unfair advantage. Yes, my Crucible k/d ratio is a little higher with my Hunter (as a Bladedancer) than with my other characters, but that may just be due to my personal playstyle. I think the other classes make up for it in other ways. Warlocks can resurrect, which can be surprising and obnoxious as hell. They also have a longer-ranged melee (again, obnoxious as hell). Titans have the Shoulder Charge, which is especially good when paired with Transfusion. And they both have Supers and grenades which are far better for crowd control than the Hunter's. I think the biggest advantage the Hunter has is mobility; they can activate their Super and carry it with them for a little while, whereas the other classes (with the partial exception of Sunsinger) have to activate their Supers when they can see the enemy--and when the enemy can see them. But Hunters don't have two grenades, or flashbang/suppression grenades, or abilities which grant overshields, or a one-hit-KO melee which can also regenerate their health. And--although this matters less--Bladedancer abilities aren't quite as useful in PvE. I think it's balanced enough as-is. I saw something the other day which I think makes a good quote: "You know you're doing something right when each class is complaining that the other two are OP."

              • Meh. I think Bladegasm and James Bond mode are balanced, and this is coming from sombody who primarily plays warlock at this point. Arc blade is melee and therefore you are vulnerable at long range, even WITH the damage reduction. Gunslinger is one-shot but you have to actually aim and you are just as vulnerable to all damage. Still is pretty irritating though.

                      • My only gripe is that both hunter supers are essentially attack buffs, which is fine because you can use them over a long duration, but it leaves room for you to get killed in the middle or the very beginning of your super, while void walker and striker supers are both very effective and don't necessarily require accuracy because of the blast radius and everything else. But essentially, when it comes to blade dancer and using it's all about good control and when you use it. Use it too late, you're killed. Use it too early, you won't kill enough. What I do is I use blink and jump dashes to maneuver around, then when on the ground and attacking, I use the spin attack in which the hunter kills surrounding players.

                        • The only real issue I have with the hunter super is that the "golden gun" belongs in a Bond game only. It has no place in a sci-fi shooter. Change the name and I won't cringe every time I see/use it.

                            • I killed more guys with fist of havoc or nova bomb than my hunter's super. Not to mention that razors edge doesnt do shit... what needs some nerfing is that Field dmg of Fist of Havoc after the launch.

                              • Which hunter super are you referring to? Cause gunslingers are extremely vulnerable during their super and blade dancers have to run to get into range which leads to me killing them half the time before they get close. On another note hunters immediately lose their super if killed during activation where as every other class other than sunsinger gets to keep theirs
