Question.
Why are some of you 30s threatened by iron banner gear? Why is cheesing the VOG better than actually winning in PvP? Is it because people can actually get to 30 AND have to be good at PvP (because many thirties are terrible at it)? Or is it something else.
Ultimately, there isn't any reason to hate on 30s with IB gear. It looks better than the raid gear. that's for sure.
EDIT: So many of you have answered me with a wealth of knowledge. Most of you have given a fair and solid answer. Some people who are only a high level due to IB gear say they are experienced in the raid, but in fact, they are terrible and uneducated on how to complete the raid.
There are two things. lvl 30 raiders who feel as though they are superior because they run the raid three times a week and then wait merely because they have to wait longer than people did for IB gear. Then, there are the IB 30's and 29's that lie about their raid experience and drag their team down.
Seriously? Why lie about your raid experience? Are your egos so deflated you need to boast about how you're "A pro at the raid"? If you say "I've never Done the raid" your group will direct you what to do.
Also, The 30's who think they are better than the rest or every "fake" 30 they see you are just as bad. Self esteem needs a boosts by believing you are better. Terrible. Also, no you aren't that good. Last night, a couple buddies of mine played skirmish with a team of all 30's with 100% raid gear and weapons. We DESTROYED them. 10000 to 2400. Raiding does not make you superior in any way.
If someone is lying about raid experience that's on them. If someone cheeses the raid, that's on them. Not on all of us.

Editado por NeoZephyr: 11/30/2014 1:27:01 AMYou're the first person that's suggested IB gear is threatening lol. I don't care how anyone got to 30, but it bothers me when someone thinks it says something about them. The raid is not hard, but it usually takes a lot longer to get to 30 this way because of chance. Could be anywhere from 90 minutes if you got all 3 pieces in one raid, to dozens of hours of unlucky raids. It was very easy to get to IB rank 5 from scratch, and did not take PVP skill. Took what, maybe 5 hours of playtime over bounties from two days? Maybe less if you did it later in the week with the bonus on? Easy bounties, points from losses, and massive rep boost. It wasn't a grind like getting to lvl 3 on the first IB. My main point is that your gear says little about your skill, and no one thinks you're a badass. Edit: Congrats on 30, but no use in fanning the flames of a pointless argument.

Didnt cheese anything to get my raid gear.
-
Most of the ppl I know who triple grind thre chars suck donkey in pvp. Even some of my newer friends who've done vog 50 some times. I think they feel intimidated. I hate this games pvp, but am good at it. Esp the new ib. Most of them only did it to get boots. Because their constant praying to rngesus doesn't work. Lolz
-
I could be 30 either way.. Rank 5 Ib and done plenty of hard raids haha
-
11 RespuestasI'm a 30 with full raid gear but I prefer the IB gauntlets over the raid ones. Both of which were extremely easy to get. People shouldn't hate on those with IB gear but honestly the raid gear takes more "skill" than IB

2 RespuestasEditado por joey big guns: 11/29/2014 9:21:51 PMHere is a question for the masses. People claim that those with IB gear suck, noobs, etc. I'm not a 30, but I'm gettin there. I have only done the raid twice. I was given PaT the first time through and this last time I got VoC. I was a newb to it, but as I was told by the leader,"There is a set plan and strategy in place for every section because it has been done so much that it's mostly predictable, other than the teleporting." So this is my question, if the raid is so hard but everything is known regarding enemy spawning, weapon load outs, pathways and fighting methods, wouldn't it be safe to say that the people who run VoG are cheesing it regardless of how they play? You can't predict players movements in PvP entirely. They have minds of their own. Wouldn't playing against someone who can think and change tactics to respond to a situation prove to be the more difficult opponent over enemies with set patterns and spawn locations that have been played against over and over again with videos to educate? I am not a huge fan of PvP. I do it for the bounties and when I'm bored. I am currently starting to run raids when I can. I love the PvE of the game, but it's all mapped out and known what do,where to go and where to hide. I just think that it's funny how people can be jerks about caring where your armor came from. I don't try to attempt the hard raid, I'm still learning the normal, like I said I've only been through 2x. It's just funny to me how someone who plays against a computer that does the same thing every time can talk crap about someone who spent maybe a solid week worth of dealin with people who can think and change attacks based on the situation. Let's not forget all those lame ass suros babies!

11 RespuestasI got to rank 5 with nothing more than Tempered and daily bounties, it's not difficult nor do I care. It's just a little bit insulting when you bust your ass every week doing HM to get your gear and then people are essentially 'given' 30 light gear to do the next raid.
-
I never even notice anybody's armor, only thing that matters is level and if they have good weapons. If IB makes somebody 30 for a hard raid then fantastic things will generally go more smoothly for the group.
-
1 RespuestaI rejoice. I want everyone to be 30. So hopefully one day we will all have smooth hard raids with randoms.
-
I played iron banner with my 30 warlock in the sole puRpose of getting that gear for thIrd character. Just smart if you ask me. The fact that people think the way you describe shows you how shallow their thought processes are.
-
You gotta grind HARD just to get IB boots or gauntlets... Just because the raid shits on you doesn't de-legitamize being a level 30...all these but hurt players are just lucky a-holes who got every piece of raid armor... I do raid every week and still have yet to get boots
-
The more 30's running around the better. I could care less what gear got them there.
-
Don't matter to me, I got IB gear on one and raid on the other. Maybe you're right about raid elitists being garbage at PVP, I know I am but managed to make it to rank 4.
-
I don't really care. The perks on my raid gear > ib gear.
-
2 RespuestasI couldnt care less what gear you use. As long as your not the reason the raid is failing, you play the game how ever you like.
-
4 RespuestasThey fail to realize that IB gear 1.looks better, 2. Stats suit some playstyles better and 3. The perks help others more than raid gear. Seriously, who uses pulse rifles in raid? More use scout rifles. IB>raid gear even if you have raid. Lol

12 RespuestasEditado por puppyk1sses: 11/29/2014 11:59:04 PMWinning in PVP? Really? They gave that stuff out to everyone, regardless of winning/losing. Just had to PVP for like a day for it. I don't usually comment on this IB vs Raid crap, but your argument is garbage. IB is like T-Ball, everyone gets a trophy for participation. At least the raid takes some level of skill to make it through. If IB was actually skill-based and you actually had to perform well to get rewarded, I think a lot less people would complain.
-
4 RespuestasIB thirty isn't necessarily about 'being good' at Pvp. With the medallions, you only need to win one in six matches to level up. Sure it's a bit slower, but it's so much easier than doing VOG hard multiple times. You can simply grind your way to 30 with IB which to me is a bit cheap. I did IB with friends and we all made rank 3 after one 5-6 hour sitting. I stopped doing it after that because I got bored with it. But to me, it seemed a very cheap way of reaching max level. I think a better alternative would have been I add coins/tokens for every vog clear (1 coin for normal/2 for hard) then buy your gear from a vendor in the tower. Tldr; Vog HM clears with 29s is much harder than grinding out iron banner!

Editado por Hydraaa: 11/30/2014 12:34:52 AMALL PEOPLE WITH RAID GEAR ARE EASY TARGETS.
-
3 RespuestasEditado por Rising Sol: 11/30/2014 12:20:49 AMI prefer raid gear, that IB gear looks so damn good with the wolves, but I don't hate. Good, now the PvP people who only play crucible can achieve level 30. Btw I definitely for grinded that IB rank 5 for those damn good weapons, they are better then there raid counterparts, except for Timurs lash the handcannon and Jolders Hammer the heavy machine gun.
-
I have IB gear on my hunter and warlock because i only had time to get it for 2 characters. I am more of a PVE player but I liked the look of it so I went for it and I have no shame wearing it over my raid gear. If anyone wants to judge me on that its their loss not mine
-
It's not being threatened by ib gear. It's those that hit 30 ONLY because of ib and running the hard raid like its PvP. Funny to watch them die jumping all over the place but also frustrating cause I have to replace them on my team.
-
Don't think I am. I have full raid VoG gear...twice. And I got the IB gloves for the sexy looks, one of the shaders and the mini skirt. Wasnt hard to get to lvl 5 at IB and Im not a great pvp player. Im glad there is another way for people to get to lvl 30. :)
-
3 RespuestasThere you go solo templar back when i was lvl 27 or whatever with unmaxed weapons
-
Armor doesn't rule. Weapons do. Skill can beat any 30. Pvp players will always reign superior. It's just in the game play.
