I don't really understand this halo lingo my friends used to talk about. Saying 1 headshot and 2 body shots and all this bs. Why would you purposefully shoot for the body ? Why don't you all shoot at the head all the time ? Except for vex where your supposed to shoot the stomach. I shoot at everyone's head in PVP no matter what like if head shots kill faster why would I want to try and shoot 2 to the body and 1 head when I could just shoot 2 in the head and get the kill?

An interesting thing about TLW is you can peg it like a 2 or 3 burst similar to a pulse, but more powerful, finishing with 1 or 2 hs, still lacks range though.
-
Because in halo you did the same damage to body or head while they had a shield. Only when the shield was down did headshots matter. Now I for one aim for the head always but not every cheese grater using person does lol.
-
Because if theyre shooting you, the body is a bigger target to hit when youre flinching

I understand the post it makes sense I just never really got the headshot body shot things my halo friends always talked about. I mean when you shoot someone in the body a lot of the times you hit their arms because of them holding a gun but the head is always vulnerable. Correct me if I'm wrong

I mean when you shoot someone in the body a lot of the times you hit their arms because of them holding a gun but the head is always vulnerable. Correct me if I'm wrong[/quote] You can't use shooting a person in real life as a comparative measure of damage to a video-game, and here's why: - In a real life scenario, if someone approaches you (or stands there) outside of cover and starts firing a weapon at you in the "traditional" pose (whether handgun, rifle or smg), they'll probably be wearing body armor (Kevlar vest & helmet usually) which reduces the number of weak points in the upper body, unless you're a crack shot...your first objective should be to cause the target to stop shooting at you; with small-arms fire, this is best accomplished by either shooting them in the leg or the foot (in my experience) since this will cause them to fall down or look down, usually opening up the side of their torso or their neck for the kill shot(s). The body has numerous anatomical weak points, the head and the groin are just the most obvious with no prior training on target selection. - In a video-game, shoot the target anywhere below the neck and you'll do equivalent damage to the chest, leg, etc. Headshots are the "critical" location; essentially rewarding you for hitting a small target...it's also a heck of a lot easier to code one "weak" point and a "standard" point instead of anatomically correct weaknesses due to the fact that the computer processor has to track each unique hitbox, on each target, which would probably cause the frames per second to fall through the floor with civilian tech. ;-) Disclaimer: Yes, I've been in the military; I've also been a civilian contractor & consultant - feel free to agree/disagree with anything I have written. I am only providing information based on my life experiences. I hope this answered your question, enjoy your day/evening. :-)

In halo you have shields and bullets don't do crit damage to shields. So when someone's shields are up you can shoot the body instead of the head because it does the same amount of damage. Once the shields pop (are destroyed) you get crit damage for headshots.
-
Thank you for this I now understand !! I never knew this haha
-
If I remember right that's pretty much how it works with shields on PvE enemies in Desiny too, where any damage that goes past the shield capacity is crit-multiplied but before the shield is down it means nothing.
-
I've played too much Halo in my life. Lol Happy to help.
-
I think it's because the Elites on Halo used to have an overshield that would pop when so much damage was taken, exposing the headshot vulnerability So naturally you'd hit the bigger part of the body until the pop happened then blast them in the head

Head shots aren't always available.
-
The reason I mentioned 4 bodyshots for the last word is to put things into persepective I believe 2 hipfired headshots from the Last Word(sufficiently upgraded) is enough to 2shot an enemy. Correct me if im wrong (may be 3)
-
It is two. But landing one hip fire head shot is difficult enough, getting two is much harder. Better to go for the two body 1 head shot and let the recoil move you to the head.
-
Heads are extremely easy to hit in this game the auto aim basically aims at it when you zoom in.
-
Especially with swarm. Good grief I shot a guy in the legs and got precision damage the heck bungie
-
Sensei says it is better to land a body shot than miss a head shot.

Biology 101 The head is small The body is big
