As a female Destiny player I am finding that sexual harassment is a growing issue, especially in the tower. From the first week Destiny came out, I have experienced harassment ranging from receiving messages of a sexual nature (to the point of having to block people to get them to stop) to having groups of characters surround and hump my character (moving does nothing, as they follow me around the tower and continue until I leave the tower).
Obviously Bungie can't control the players. I get that. But when I report the players for sick behavior like this, the most I can report them for is being "unfriendly." Can we get a specific sexual harassment option for times like this?
Edit: Judging by the responses to my post, the harassment is not just in game. I'm getting plenty on here, and I anticipate I'll have plenty of similar messages when I log into the game later. Speaking out has made me more of a target, and I expected that. This is exactly the reason so many women choose not to speak out against this kind of behavior.

Editado por Silvurphlame: 10/25/2015 12:31:56 PMSo this post is about a year old and I doubt OP is still following it, but for any other women or girls or anyone else experiencing issues with players behaving badly: Best thing to do is not only report them but block them. I see you're on Xbox? You should be able to add a description of what they've done when you block them through XBox Live. And of course blocking through the network them prevents them from being matched with you in future activities, for any game ever.. Always network block people you truly don't want to be around again. It's the one advantage of the virtual world over the real one. If you think someone is purposefully being an asshole, you only have to deal with their sorry tail once. Eventually, if they're blocked by enough people, they'll only get to play with their own little subset population of turdmuffins and the rest of us will go on in peace.

Editado por AJReaperOfSouls: 10/24/2015 4:41:20 AMI 100% agree with you on this. As a female Destiny player myself, I get this quite a lot, plus the odd hate mail here and there which is frustrating. Thanks for making a post about this. I wouldn't have the guts to post it myself, but I'm glad someone brought it up. EDIT: Just realised I was logged into my boyfriends account, and not mine... Oops.

3 RespuestasMen talk to men the same way we talk to women online. Its a show that we agree in equality. Equal rights equal fights. Cant take the heat dont wear a mic. Women that see it as sexual harassment clearly do not agree in the equality of women movement and see themselves as fragile. This is a problem of self. Stand up for yourselves. If you wanna play with the bous prepared to get dirty. Dont pretend your mind isnt as screwed up as ours, I know what you ladies say when the men arent around.

1 RespuestaEditado por Azurik Pupil: 10/25/2015 12:36:32 PMTea bagging is normal. Hell when I started my first character in the beginning (female) I would get other characters tea bagging mine. Im a guy btw. Usually that stuff is what little kids do. If they send messed up messages then there's only one way to fix that. The block button. Learn it. live it. love it. Internet isn't a friendly place for those who don't know how to handle it. Putting a post like this up also made you sound butthurt to most people while sexual harassment is an actual problem in life in the world is gaming and internet you can just block them and be done with it. "Edit" your gamer tag gives away your gender. Change it to something else.

It's disgusting how other gamers can treat another gamer like that just because she's a female down right disgusting
-
Sry for my other male guardians would treat you like that
-
I understand you can feel like you are being targeted but some people just think it's funny, this has happened to me but I guess I just deal with it
-
Yes I agree destiny is meant for fun with ur friends no sexual harassment should happen I curse everyone who does it.

I don't get why the dry humping in the tower offends you but that's unimportant. The harassing messages are the biggest problem I see in your post. I am not sure if you knew this but at the bottom of the message you can report the message to Microsoft. While bungie may not always have all the info due to their umbrella term categories, Microsoft will actually look at the message and can hand out console bans that keep these people out of the xbox community

5 RespuestasEditado por Lee C Miller: 10/24/2015 11:17:03 PMNo gamer should shower another with harassment for any reason. Unfortunately the community on here has a few toxic posters who take enjoyment out of "trying" to harass others. But don't let them deter you. The destiny community is full of amazing guys and gals. Stand firm guardian, you were right to speak out about this. Hopefully harassment can be erased from gaming all together!!

It reflects poorly on our collective societies when, the majority sentiment is "deal with it". Of course, those people would be the very first to sniffle if they were handled in a similar fashion. "She was asking for it!". Why? Because she had a -blam!-ing pulse? Kids these days.
-
Sry this happened it must suck but all you can do is report them and suck it up and besides they are humping a digital character that doesn't really exist so just be thankful you have a life compared to the people humping your character

3 RespuestasThis post needs to get taken down already. Talked about this with some (girl) friends from school who play video games online and they agreed shes making women look very bad. especially since shes trying to represent all women

I am a male, I have 1 female character and 2 male characters. Not trying to sound non sympathetic but I rarely get this happening to me on my female character and my 12 year old daughter has nothing but female characters and I tend to play by her side and can't think of a single time it has happened to her, and if it has no where near as dominate as your expressing. Again not to sound non sympathetic to this because it is an issue overall but to the extent your saying, you might want to look at your behavior if it's bugging you, based on the extreme your saying it sounds to me like your enabling it. Personally if I decided to start doing a female dominate activity online I sure wouldn't make my name "MaleGuyRightHereLadies". In other words, maybe start by changing your gamer tag. Your dealing with like a 60% 11-14 year old community (based off a poll the other day on here accurate or not that's the number I have). Not all of us guys are like that on here, I can honestly give a 2 craps what's/who's behind the controller so long as they can play.
-
2 RespuestasThis happens to all people that play as female characters. Just ignore the immature 12 year olds. It's that simple.
-
So you are special?
-
Getting bad messages I can understand, but the occasional T -bag isn't harassment. No offence.
-
kids get harassed also. I have listened to several kids get talked down to very badly,. Destiny is a very negative environment to game in.

Deej and Bungie doesn't care about you, all they care about is money
