Unless you're a collector, there is almost zero incentive to continue playing till Expac drops.
Your weapons will be outclassed, the gear will be outleveled and there is really no reason at all to run the raid/nightfall/etc to get any of the exotics that you can only equip ONE of in armor/weapon slot when the new exotics will be BETTER. There is almost no reason to even grind shards/coins because Bungie will probably change the economy up for the newer items because it makes no sense for them to leave the economy the same while all these people will be able to buy the new exotics from Xur or whatever they come out with next... I really love this game, but I don't see the point in playing besides casually with friends in some pvp matches :(

Editado por calisk: 11/13/2014 3:23:58 PMhaving raid gear makes it easier during the next expac. exotics currently owned are supposed to get upgrade options in the next expac. all weapons and gear are normalized in pvp so legendary weapons now will be just as useful in pvp later. 3 chracters raid ready for next expac will be more useful then 1 raid ready char for next expac as such you should get 3 characters ready. so in short if you have every exotic, and 3 raid ready 30 chars, then yes you are right there is no longer any reason to continue playing. aside from just having fun, which I do, I mean if I was in that state i'd just pvp all the time and enjoy the gear i got.

Have they actually confirmed that new weapons will have more than the 300 damage of current? I would think the output would stay the same. Armor will be upgradable (at least exotic)

2 Respuestasthey already said the current gear wont be useless. there will be exotic upgrade materials to take stuff up to "lvl 32" levels. plus have fun, get better, make friends, collect guns and gear, take alts up in lvl. and of course play other games if you are bored.

I will agree there is not incentive to play AS MUCH. On tuesday i did the raid, weekly, and nightfall. So the rest of my week is just casual. I play when i want to, when i want to have fun. I used to play at least 5 times a week when the game came out, now that is reduced to 3 or less days. But THEN AGAIN, i put in over 150 hours into the game. I got my moneys worth on that alone. Basically what im trying to say is that you should play when you want to, not force yourself to play for hopes of gear. Enjoy the game, dont get caught up in the battle with rng...

Getting to level 29 is enough incentive to keep my playing. While I may never reach level 30. at least I have level 29 as a goal and it is reachable. Just need those shards.

Peopke have already looked into the code for the dlc's there are new ascendent materials (crystal if I remember right) and it was speculated that these can be attached to current armour to improve the light level. Also all of the wepons will be the same spec/balanced so none of the wepons will be outdated.......

2 RespuestasThis is reflecting all my thoughts almost exactly. There were rumors of upgradable materials to increase exotics light level from 30 to 32, and if that's true then there [i]might[/i] be a little hope. I'm not holding my breath though. What really had me worried was Bungie already had the new upgrade material in the game, just not obtainable yet. I'm guessing 3 out of 4 raid armor pieces will be second tier when the new expansion hits, and this is only if we can upgrade exotics. I do believe/hope our weapons won't be obsolete in December. If this happens then we can expect it in the next expansion and so forth basically making every expansion just there to remake the RNG grind. It's like artificial difficulty, the only point is to extend the games life with filler, and not substance. I hope I'm wrong.

Even when it is clearly break time. Sounds like a great time for a break indeed. Come Dec 9 you will feel all new again, like a spring morning... #serenitynow
