Completed it yesterday for first time, took maybe 6 hours with same team, pug group. After 25 years gaming this is in top 10 moments. It's not that hard if you have the same team for a long period and continue to refine what you are doing. I got helm and sparrow, at times it seemed impossible.

It's actually an achievement now! Just beat hard mode atheon and got the vex for the first time. I was actually cheering and happy because it took my raid party quite awhile to finish it. That's what the raid is about.

Beat Atheon for the third time tonight since the patch. Honestly, I'm glad they patched it. Now instead of getting comfortable with only one mechanic I'm comfortable with all three (oracles, supplicants, and relic). It really wasn't that hard. We struggled a bit the last two times, but today it was pretty mechanical, had it down pat. We wiped maybe four times, on about our fifth time we smoked him. The encounter took less than half an hour. Whole raid from the very beginning took a little over an hour.

It's not hard at all. I'm sorry to say, but the majority of Destiny players suck big bal*s lol. True fact!!!

It's all in the team work. I played the raid ok hard with random people I met here about five times and every time I thought how in the hell can this be done without cheering. Well yesterday I did the raid on hard with a group of friends that I play a lot with and it was not bad at all. Teamwork and everyone knowing they're part and just experience in the raid is what it's all about. If you don't have a good team I suggest spending time finding and training with one instead of just trying the raid with randoms again and again.
