There are even crazier ones out there. My personal favorite conspiracy theory is that Paul McCartney died in 1966 and was replaced by a lookalike. The alleged reasons why this took place vary depending on who you ask. Some people believe that the Beatles just wanted to keep making records so that they could get rich and retire early. Others say that the Illuminati did it so that they could brainwash young people. The only conspiracy theory that I actually believe is that there is more to the JFK assassination than the public knows about. The angle of the shots Lee Harvey Oswald fired don't match with what actually happened. There had to have been a second gunman.

Do people actually waste time making these up?

Yes. There are [i]so many[/i] of them. A lot are actually really funny. They're worth reading for that reason alone. There's a hilarious one about how Jay-Z is an agent of the Illuminati. Supposedly, that's why he's such good friends with Obama, because [i]of course that's why[/i], and it's also why he married Beyonce, because he wanted to expand his audience and brainwash more female music fans with his evil demonic lyrics.
