So I got to thinking the one thing I missed in here was listing some actual solutions. Instead of extending this thread I made a new one for this which can be found here http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/74170850/0/0/1
So on one hand you say "matchmaking for raids won't work because you need a strong organized team to complete the raid"
On the other hand you say "we're going to completely randomize the encounter so strategy is out the window"
These are in complete contradiction of each other and make no sense. You are giving the players so few choices that your open world plan (even though it's not open world) is becoming very linear at an alarming rate. Why can't I strengthen my fireteam by playing my role? Why should I have to play according to a very restrictive set of rules? Why can't I sit on the very sniper perches that your snipers do? Why are you micro managing my experience and sucking what little joy is left out of this game?
Honestly can you not see that with every patch you guys are driving a wedge between your player base and the game? It has to stop. Like anyone still playing I want destiny to succeed so bad. It literally breaks my gaming heart to see something with so much potential be killed by it's very creator. With every patch you have further diminished the PVE co-op experience almost to the point of me wondering why am I still bothering to care about this game. I don't speak for everyone and won't pretend to, but I would like to think I have my finger on the pulse of the people I know and play with. The reception to these kinds of patches isn't good.
My whole clan is one decent game away from washing our hands of Destiny. I don't want to but it seems that I will soon have little choice. I'm a grown ass man with a family and I'll be damned if I let someone else tell me how to play a game I paid for. Strategy isn't a bug it's a well thought out plan for success. Pushing him off is a bug, moving my fireteam to a tactical position to gain an advantage is not.
I've tried to be as cordial as possible with this and hope you take the time to relay this to the people who make these terrible decisions but my instincts tell me it will fall on deaf ears.
DEEJ I implore you to convince these people to stop before it's too far gone and the world of Destiny is a story of what could have been and not one of becoming legend.
Edit: from the tremendous amount of likes I've received on this post it would seem I have my finger on the pulse of YOUR community as well DEEJ. you know why? Real gamers know what real gamers want. Maybe those devs are coding geniuses but they obviously have 0 clue about enjoyable experiences. Someone in that studio has to stop being a yes man and simply say "enough".
Edit 2: the overall support of this is very humbling. It's nice to know I'm not in the minority here. I think we all want the same thing and that's a better destiny. Be heard people, make sure your words have weight. We are the reason they live out their dream jobs. Stop the madness Bungie, your player base has spoken.
Final edit: I really am blown away by the positive response here. I didn't really know it was possible to get this many voices saying the same thing in gaming anymore. That being said, if Bungie lets this patch go through I will personally consider this to be willfully neglecting the will of the players. I will trade in my destiny for dragon age. I know I'm just a raindrop in the grand scheme of things but massive amounts of water carve mountains. I encourage you all to abandon this and make a statement that as the consumer we won't be pushed around any longer. If you don't I understand, but we together can change this game by standing as one.

Editado por AzureTomcat6383: 10/23/2014 7:39:04 PMWell said, I agree with all the above. It unfortunately won't keep me from playing Destiny as I enjoy playing the game regardless of patches and updates. However, I do encourage Bungie to listen to the people as it has brought them so much success in the past. Remember Bungie the people created your stardom and it can easily turn into a place where most Gamers will deviate from.

Stfu you casual FFS! Stop ruining the game for hardcore players

What will you so if it's ruined?

You stand correct. Ive heard alot about this aswell. Off topic here, its true I've been connected with a lot of great people and friendly faces but during these times. We have also done the hard raid, the random drop gave my friends and I a shader and shards. I'm completely disappointed in the random drop system. Did we not deserve more than the lvl 26 raid? I can't help but think that we should have earned atleast a piece of raid gear. There was only one person that recieved it between all of us.
-
Editado por Guardian Vex: 10/24/2014 5:36:29 PMThen run it again, I'm 30, and have all raid gear and weapons, enough for two lvl 30 titans. I had to run the vault on hard 13 times to get their. And your complaining about running it once and not getting anything. Some games I would get just shards, others I finished with with several drops of raid armor and weapons. The vex dropped on 7th run, the fate bringer dropped last night for the first time. You get what you work for!
-
Truly Great! I am happy for you. I have done it several times which is why I was frustrated! I do understand its hard work and patience. It was the fact that it seemed almost impossible to get raid gear at times.I finally got gauntlets on my last run so I can consider my rant invalid from the point you have made hahaha. Thank you!

Editado por styledmj: 10/24/2014 12:57:13 PMBut your missing the point 13 is to many times especially if you do it the legit way. some of us have lives

Editado por Guardian Vex: 10/25/2014 8:16:21 AMI'm really not missing anything. It's an mmo. I love to grind and farm like millions who play mmo's will agree with. That's what an mmo is all about. Just like diablo, wow, kotor you grind you get. The issue is not the game. The issue is this is the first proper mmo to be released on CONSOLE apart from reaper of souls. Its new to most and people are trying to change it to suit them not the majority, we like the challenge, if you don't them don't play this game. The figures don't lie. Out of 3.2 million people playing this game. There's only a few complaining about it. Bungie needs to educate people to why they are doing this. It's a progressive mmo, if your a casual gamer then this game isn't for you. And you think this raid is hard. You should try the 16 player raids on the old republic, that's a challenge. The raid is nothing. I run hard last night in an hour with lvl 27 on my team.
-
And the whole "this game is for hardcore gamers only" is crap. If it was why would they balance Pvp lvls? It's like they're contradicting themselves
-
Umm because PVP and PVE are two separate things and should be treated as such.
-
Editado por styledmj: 10/24/2014 1:15:51 PMI'm mad bungie because ran the raid on hard and my team took 7 hours to beat it and I get nothin. Someone invites me to do it again the week after pushed him and I get the Vex in 2 hours. So this relays to me grinding is bad cheating is good...nonsense
-
Editado por Guardian Vex: 10/24/2014 1:37:26 PMLook the best way to get raid armor is make 3 titans (as your a titan) it means you can run 3 weekly, dailies etc, you'll get more shards more legendary and will be fully equipped to run raid, you can run 3 raids a week until you hit 30. If it takes you 7 hours to run hard mode then it's your team that's at fault. not bungie.
-
Editado por styledmj: 10/24/2014 1:29:55 PMI'm not trying to get to 30 anymore lol I just play pvp with my friends and TRY to have fun. I don't like it when a game feels like a job. So until they Change something 29 is where I stay ( btw) I have 60 shards and nothing to do with them
-
Editado por Guardian Vex: 10/24/2014 1:57:37 PMthen do what i suggested and work your way up. there lots of things to help you in the raid, i have 3 helmets to help me in different situations, the helm of saint for your class, blinds enemies who walk through your shield, renders them useless for the duration of your shield. easy to defend!! ghallhorn rocket, takes out Minotaur with one rocket, kills gate keeper with 2 rockets, you have the vex which many don't btw!! which after the patch will be a beast, void snipers will own bosses ., the ice breaker is the best one to use because of its ability to re-gen ammo, the truth drops a Minotaur in one hit, all of these weapons have been sold by XUR, handed to all on a plate and you complain your not equipped for it, the first boss is easy legit, everyone at the back taking harpies out with the shield guy, shield guy bashes harpies to charge super quickly, burn the boss and repeat! so easy. your shield ability weapons of light stacks damage for every one who has it, as-well as giving your team an over-shield, we use 3 titan shields on Atheon and drop him in 2nd run using that strategy. the hunters sunsinger is great for clearing heavy adds. there are so many easy ways to run the raid, and at your level you could run it in an hour. do you use any of the above strategies in the raid!?
-
7 hours is bad dude! That's not bungie's fault.
-
Buddy, you're still deflecting the point being made. We shouldn't have to turn into MMO players to play an MMO-ish game. People don't normally have time to dedicate constant 2.5 hours+, multiple days a week to play a game. I promise its really hard when you have to be social. So when people do dedicate the time to the raid on hard, which is the hardest part of this game as far as what has been released, they should be rewarded for their efforts. Especially after the 5th or 6th time. Nobody is asking for a full set of raid gear, which I agree wholeheartedly to your point btw, if you want the strongest possible items in this game, you gotta say goodbye to some parts of your social life. TL;DR Above all, a proper reward (weapon, gear, SOMETHING good aside from shards and energy) is what one deserves for honest effort and victory on what is the hardest part of the game.
-
And there no such thing as an MMO-ish! FPS MMO RPG, renamed to shared world shooter to avoid a stupidly long name! As Bungie has stated!
-
Not deflecting the point, if you cater for the guy who hasn't got time play very often by making everything easier for them then you create a very short and boring game for everyone else, it's simple. Fact!! They will reach lvl 30 eventually! Not not as fast as the hardcore players! Like any game! The ones who play the most progress the most! It's really that simple. Your all a very small minority in a huge community, 3.2 million Infact! Which 99% of are not complaining!
-
That... Okay since it doesn't matter much of what I say to you, lets just try to agree on this: NOTHING should be made easier. The vault of glass shouldn't EVER be a walk in the park. BUT it should, for the time being at least, reward those who complete its hardest mode with something, be it a weapon or raid gear, even if its just one piece throughout the entire raid (e.g. Get nothing but shards throughout but when finally beating aetheon, being awarded with a piece of gear). Because the hardcore grinder like yourself deserves a full set of armor and guns galore for going out and dedicating large amounts of time to this, but the gamer who literally can't afford to do the same deserves one piece after dedicating the necessary 3-5 hrs (idk people's play styles) to beat what is the hardest part of the game thus far.
-
Editado por Guardian Vex: 10/25/2014 9:42:47 AMOkay, so let's say they guarantee 1 piece of raid armor in a chest? On hard mode only! Or add drop multipliers for people that haven't had a legendary drop from the raid yet? E.g 2 runs no raid armor. 3rd run guaranteed one drop minimum. I would be happy with that! But would everyone else on this forum be happy with that! Because all the posts I'm reading are complaining about the difficulty. I'm all for having a chest that gets you a raid piece if you were not able to switch players and save checkpoints, Because the problem is then you create an exploit! Get the check point for each player! Run that section with each player and you got 3 pieces with out even completing the raid, the only way they can do it with out creating an exploit is to have a pitty bonus. No drops your chances increase next time. I vote to add two more chests to the raid, the spirit bloom chest is a joke! The secret chest only drop shards, maybe all chests should have the same chance to drop gear!? If it's not randomised people will find exploits!
-
I completely agree! To those that can't actually beat the raid? Step your game up. But that RNG is indeed something needs to be fixed after much deliberation, planning, and processing. Because when one wins, especially after a whole lot of times, some rewards are deserved.
