So I got to thinking the one thing I missed in here was listing some actual solutions. Instead of extending this thread I made a new one for this which can be found here http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/74170850/0/0/1
So on one hand you say "matchmaking for raids won't work because you need a strong organized team to complete the raid"
On the other hand you say "we're going to completely randomize the encounter so strategy is out the window"
These are in complete contradiction of each other and make no sense. You are giving the players so few choices that your open world plan (even though it's not open world) is becoming very linear at an alarming rate. Why can't I strengthen my fireteam by playing my role? Why should I have to play according to a very restrictive set of rules? Why can't I sit on the very sniper perches that your snipers do? Why are you micro managing my experience and sucking what little joy is left out of this game?
Honestly can you not see that with every patch you guys are driving a wedge between your player base and the game? It has to stop. Like anyone still playing I want destiny to succeed so bad. It literally breaks my gaming heart to see something with so much potential be killed by it's very creator. With every patch you have further diminished the PVE co-op experience almost to the point of me wondering why am I still bothering to care about this game. I don't speak for everyone and won't pretend to, but I would like to think I have my finger on the pulse of the people I know and play with. The reception to these kinds of patches isn't good.
My whole clan is one decent game away from washing our hands of Destiny. I don't want to but it seems that I will soon have little choice. I'm a grown ass man with a family and I'll be damned if I let someone else tell me how to play a game I paid for. Strategy isn't a bug it's a well thought out plan for success. Pushing him off is a bug, moving my fireteam to a tactical position to gain an advantage is not.
I've tried to be as cordial as possible with this and hope you take the time to relay this to the people who make these terrible decisions but my instincts tell me it will fall on deaf ears.
DEEJ I implore you to convince these people to stop before it's too far gone and the world of Destiny is a story of what could have been and not one of becoming legend.
Edit: from the tremendous amount of likes I've received on this post it would seem I have my finger on the pulse of YOUR community as well DEEJ. you know why? Real gamers know what real gamers want. Maybe those devs are coding geniuses but they obviously have 0 clue about enjoyable experiences. Someone in that studio has to stop being a yes man and simply say "enough".
Edit 2: the overall support of this is very humbling. It's nice to know I'm not in the minority here. I think we all want the same thing and that's a better destiny. Be heard people, make sure your words have weight. We are the reason they live out their dream jobs. Stop the madness Bungie, your player base has spoken.
Final edit: I really am blown away by the positive response here. I didn't really know it was possible to get this many voices saying the same thing in gaming anymore. That being said, if Bungie lets this patch go through I will personally consider this to be willfully neglecting the will of the players. I will trade in my destiny for dragon age. I know I'm just a raindrop in the grand scheme of things but massive amounts of water carve mountains. I encourage you all to abandon this and make a statement that as the consumer we won't be pushed around any longer. If you don't I understand, but we together can change this game by standing as one.

Seriously screw you and your underwhelming game. Breaking teamwork because you aren't witty enough to outsmart the players says so much more about you than us. Your hardest challenge ever was a joke and you couldn't handle it. I will be trading this in like thousands of other gamers and not buying any bungie products in the future. You intentionally ignore players will and break PVE elements of the game and watch it all fall apart. I'm ashamed to say I ever respected you as a dev team. DeeJ, being their lap dog must be depressing considering how hard you had to work to get there. Your pr crusade won't save this game. Lying that you're listening to our feedback but showing nothing to support that statement won't save this game. Your reputation as well as bungies has been tarnished and will pay the price starting next week when games that are decent start hitting the market. Enjoy micro managing the 300,00 guardians who are to fanboyish to see the shell of the former kings of gaming you've become. See you guys in dragon age.

Don't do it bungie!

I would say a solid 75-80 percent of comments on multiple sites and in this forum about atheons random teleport are negative Guardian Vex. Stop trolling and go away. Not everyone uses a message board or knows the app exists. If you want a percentage look at how many comments on here are negative and how many are positive not the total number of players playing destiny. Its called a survey or sample size.
-
Editado por Guardian Vex: 10/26/2014 9:59:16 PMMissing the point! Still a minority no matter what site your on. And you'll find they are the same cry babies different site because crying on this forum just isn't enough. lol like I said. Most are not complaining because they are too busy enjoying the game. They don't even know this forum exists because they don't care.
-
So far I see one crybaby. And alot of other people trying to have a logical conversation.
-
To use forums as a "sample" of the player base is a bad idea. When people are upset or disappointed they are drawn to a forum. When they love it, they are drawn to their tv screen. It's just the way it is. Most people comment because they are upset, and if someone is not upset they have little need to say something.
-
Broncos freak, I disagree whole heartedly, the "sample size" you see on just this thread alone is remarkable and very telling. In all honesty, I do believe that Bungie has at least lost the respect of roughly 90% of all Destiny gamers. The 10% left over are the ones that have Bungie's còck in their mouths, enough said. Of those 90%, it is safe to say that 65% of them have already stopped playing or will once something fresh hits the market. It doesn't take a genius to understand this concept...
-
No. Simple as that. No. You are 100% wrong. You are throwing out random numbers with zero fact to back it up. Everything you said is entirely subjective wrapped in a sheets coat of "fact". How many people that love the game come on here to complain about it? Think about that for a second. This is as simple as what happened with Diablo 3. And thousands of people sounded just like you guys do on here. And they all said the game was a failure and would lose almost all of its player base. And yet Diablo 3 is one of the most successful games with a dedicated and large player base. Destiny is extremely flawed. But 90% of the gamers are not as upset zap those of us that seek the forums. We come here to complain and ask for changes. Almost all of us. But look at the number of responses. Is it in the millions like the number of people playing the game? No.
-
This is striking the nail on the head for me. I agree with your statements. Ignore Guardian Vex, he is just a Bungie fanboy who most likely has never done major league raiding. You need strategy, planning and advantages to take on the raid bosses. Removing the sniper perch was one of the worst patches, because it gave the players a strategy. If they make Atheon teleport people at random, give us a taunt ability so one of us knows we will be targeted. Knocking the bosses off is for cheap and should be removed. Bungie use to be good at listening to their community, but now all they seem to do is ruin the game mechanics. Bungie, you need to stop the senseless patching, and learn the difference between strategy and glitched exploit.
-
Why would someone need major league raiding under their belt to be educated or validated in this argument? All you need us to have played through the VoG. Heck the gameplay and strategy in this is so far removed from hardcore raiding that if that's all someone had, and hadn't played through the VoG, they would be the one unable to have something valid to say.
-
Editado por Guardian Vex: 10/26/2014 9:46:08 AMOhh look another one who's only done the raid twice and talks s@@t about hardcore raiding. What a surprise! Lol
Edit 2: the overall support of this is very humbling. It's nice to know I'm not in the minority here
Out of 3.2 million players Dailey I would say you are in the minority. You have support from about 0.4% of the community.

You need to provide links with facts if you're going to toss around random numbers, not to mention moronic spelling errors. It's likely your errors are merely the result of being below the cognitively inadequate line... Not based on anything in reality.

Why does it say you've never played destiny before! Lol

Pulling statistics outta thin air are we. 100% of people with thumbs think you're wrong. While it may be hard for you to understand, only a very small portion of those 3.2 million players use forums or provide any real feedback about the game. Out of those who do I'm far from the minority among them. I guess you ignored the part where most people said "everyone I know who plays feels the same way". Ignorance is bliss though.
