Proof that RNG is glitched for my character
[b]Here is a list of all the legendary and exotic gear I've earned so far in the game, having reached level 28:

[b]For comparison, here is a list of the gear my co-op buddy has got, having reached level 28 and played the same games as me -- he routinely gets good gear while I literally never get anything:[/b]
Exotic weapons:
Hard Light (assault rifle)
Ice Breaker (sniper rifle)
Exotic bounty not yet started, because no need (cannot recall which)
Others (I cannot recall)
Legendary weapons:
Final Boss (sniper rifle)
The Comedian (shotgun) -- yeah, he's definitely laughing, at me!
Cryptic Dragon (scout rifle)
Red Hand IX (hand cannon)
Grim Citizen III (assault rifle)
Super Pox CLO (pulse rifle)
Epitaph 2261 (sniper rifle)
Invisible Hand M7 SG (shotgun)
77 Wizard (fusion rifle)
Exodus Plan RS/1 (rockets)
Others (I cannot recall)
Legendary armor
Monitor Type 2 (helmet)
Monitor Type 2 (chest)
Nerigal Savant II (leg)
Others (too many to remember)
I'd be happy with ONE item from this list, but I have NOTHING.
He also gets numerous Titan marks, and countless nice items from opening chests, including big stacks of ascendant materials, and big stacks of harvestable materials, and countless ships (Fangs of Nyx, etc) and other nice stuff. I have never had anything from a chest other than green trash gear from chests, and up to 25 glimmer and a maximum of 2 harvestable items.
[b]CONCLUSION: RNG GLITCH![/b]
Until yesterday. Yesterday, we started nightfall with him AFK for 5 minutes, and by the time he picked up his controller he had a legendary engram which became yet another legendary weapon. I have only ever had two legendary engrams. One turned into blue trash pre patch. The other, yesterday, turned into a hunter cloak when I do not have a hunter and that item dismantled into class trash materials that I cannot use.
Yesterday, I did finally get Invective for completing that one specific exotic bounty. But [url=http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/73125415/0/0/1]Bungie has nerfed Invective, the one and only exotic weapon I have ever earned[/url] -- my one and only really good weapon, and one of only two weapons other than raid exclusives which require a degree of skill to obtain.
[b]CONCLUSION: ONGOING RNG GLITCH![/b]
EDIT: Destiny's so-called RNG is not RNG. Not that Bungie ever claimed it was. There is weighting,. I believe the weighting is flawed, but it could also be deliberate to serve some purpose I'm not aware of. People can stop calling it RNG now. I;m sharing this fact with the community. Take it or leave it. But be aware that this game is severely unbalanced and a character's "luck" is certainly not as random as players think.

Until earlier this week, I had never gotten a legendary or exotic that I did not buy. Monday I got a purple drop for the first time since the patch and it turned into Red Death. It's just shitty luck, dude. I too am a 28 and have been so for weeks

That's the nature of the beast. I have not gotten a single legendary engram since the patch.. Until last night, when I got 3, and another one today.

First of all your definition of "earned" is through the RNG which is bullshit in itself. You can't earn that which is randomly given to you. All you are "earning" is a chance to play the RNG. Second, there's no glitch. You just have shitty luck. And that's a -blam!-in bummer, believe me. But nobody wants to hear your bitching and moaning. It's a game. Get over it. Third, your probably not playing the right stuff. The vanguard tiger playlist is NOTORIOUS for legendary engrams, both as rewards and from enemies. That where I've gotten all but two of my legendary weapons, which I got from vanguard. Fourth, things are rare for a reason. If they weren't, everyone would be running around with top notch gear. Fifth, destiny's "RNG" (flawed as it is) is what the game needs to be balanced. I hate it as much as you but it's the way it has to be. If it were based on merit, all of the skilled people would become fricken gods and would be wiping the floors with all the unskilled people. But the RNG provides equal opportunity for everyone so we all have nice gear. Lastly, I'm sorry your that unlucky. But get in line. You aren't the only one. All my friends have the last word, which I've been trying to get since release. It's the only damn gun I like and it keeps slippin away.

Pfft, you know how many times I did the raid and didn't get anything but ascendant shards? Too many. My teammates did nothing and got timebreaker and raid gear.

I have 2 legendary (one from queen, one from engram). I also got 2 Exotic helmets on my level 25 Hunter. BOTH are for Titan. I have decent luck with the RNG, but all the good items I've gotten are for other classes

2 RespuestasI think it's funny that you think the vendors are a charity. Last time I checked you didn't have to work that hard and grind for days to get a charity handout. Guess what, I've only received a few legendary drops, most before patch so they were worthless, and I've been playing since day one. Those "charities" have supplied most of my equipment and I'll wear it proudly.

Because you see, the R in RNG stands for random. Therefore the results will vary. That even means that one person will hit the jackpot 3 times in a row while you come up empty 95% of the time. That's exactly what RNG means. And that's exactly why there are vendors for you to purchase your gear, because RNG is not kind to everyone.

4 RespuestasIts kinda not surprising that they put a weighting system to a base RNG - base RNG would mean you get just as much good gear as you get trash which would kind of make it not very special if/when you get good gear. Calling poor rolls on a regular basis a glitch is a tad silly though - a random system that gives some people good gear and others trash gear isn't working in a flawed way, you're just experiencing the outer ranges of the statistical spectrum. You can cry about it and call all of the legendary and exotic gear you've gotten through motes and coins (considered legendary drops if you decrypt them btw) as "charity"... OR You can be happy that Bungie had enough forethought about the potential 'luck' that some users are bound to experience within a much-tested-but-still-imperfect-(by everyone's standards)-system and have included a means by which you can obtain better than rare gear without having to get uber lucky. To the tin-foil-hat-crowd: the amount of time and resources needed to choose a pool of players with which to screw with by skewing their 'RNG' rolls just to ensure they dont get any 'good gear' is vast and should, by any amount of logical/critical thought, be eliminated as even a possibility - purely by the fact that it gains Bungie nothing to do so but would cost them quite a bit of money.

I have only ever received one exotic piece and that was from a lucky purple engram decoding. Pve is very tedious to get exotic and legendary gear from drops. Play pvp, it's the training wheels way of getting exotics.
