So here is yet another area found by people glitching, supposedly this area was there during the beta as well... Frankly, the amount of polish this area has is absurd. This isn't a place holder for a more polished space to be added later, this is on disc content that's being blocked. DLC now officially stands for Developer Locked Content.
If you have yet to buy the season pass I highly suggest you do NOT purchase the DLC. Furthermore, if and when another Destiny title is released I ask that you purchase it used and above all do NOT pre-order if you really want a new copy.
The reason I suggest this is because as consumers we should vote with our money. If we allow this to go without recourse they will continue this practice. If they want to charge $100 for the game then they should do it from the start. If they actually develop add on content then I could understand additional costs. Locking areas from people and then charging them for it isn't the right way to adjust prices for inflation.
What do you guys think?
Also, I could care less if I'm allowed to post this video here. Ban me, block me, do whatever the -blam!- you want. I've been here long enough to know the proper counter measures for such actions.

2 RespuestasDownloadable content (DLC) is additional content for a video game distributed through the Internet by the game's official publisher or other third party content producers. Downloadable content can be of several types, ranging from aesthetic outfit changes to a new, extensive storyline, similar to an expansion pack. As such, DLC may add new game modes, objects, levels, challenges or other features to a complete and already released game. Some content is delivered exclusively through online services, but the extra content may be on the game disc. Some criticism stems from the fact that many of the items sold on sites like Xbox Live Marketplace are not downloadable content at all, but are instead content keys used to unlock content already on the game disk. Because of this, many people feel as if they are paying to unlock content they already purchased when they bought the game itself. Many times the plot of a game is so richly interwoven with the character interactions and moments, you simply cannot use a DLC module to 'insert' a new character. It has to be planned and the framework has to be established ahead of time for use off of the DLC module. For instance, criticism arose over the downloadable characters for Street Fighter X Tekken, Mass Effect 3, Risen 2, and many more, which were found to already be on the game discs.

9 RespuestasLol no developer will ever try to be ahead of the curve with placeholders ever again. Too many stupid people in the gaming world. Just look at this thread. Retards actually think the finished dlc is on the disc. Feel bad you retards.
-
I bet Deej is still going to say this is just an unfinished placeholder. Or just ignore this thread.

1 RespuestaIf the first expansion doesn't include AT LEAST one new planet I'm done with destiny. I enjoy playing it but damn it's a flawed game and their business strategy seems to be to offer as little as possible for the money given. For me destiny is on thin ice.

1 RespuestaIt's too late for me not to buy DLC since I preordered it with the game. Though I seriously doubt I will buy any future Destiny titles if they add DLC to the story mode. I've only seen DLC used for PvP not for PvE. I have never played a game where DLC had to be added to finish the story mode of a game.

1 RespuestaAnyone else been to "the terminus" on Venus it's a pretty cool dlc area just takes some skilled jumps to get there!!!

So Bungie is making us pay for something we already have. Thanks Bungie </3
I've been here long enough to know the proper counter measures for such actions.
Damn. It's rare to see badges go higher than 3 years nowadays. 7 years is an accomplishment! I hit 5 come September!
-
This looks pretty cool! Thanks for the info, just bought my season pass!

To me the issue isn't whether any part of future DLC was included on the disk when the game went gold. As has already been said, that's nothing new. The issue, and something we can't know for sure, is that it is entirely possible that the publisher forced content cuts to maximize post-launch content (read: profits), which absolutely is short-changing the consumer, when compared to the developer's advertised original vision and intent for the game. This video does nothing either to prove or to disprove this notion.

MY...GOD...I really hope that area will be a new strike mission on the Moon in the future XD

1 RespuestaLol I'm sure u will tell them to buy COD with it's 5 hour campaign and some multiplayer maps. That's almost worth $60 lol. Then pay $15 for dlc's with 3 maps. Destiny is well worth $60
-
1 RespuestaLaugh at all those ignorant fuçkers who claimed the DLC was not on the disc. Pieces of shit.
-
All the stuff that we are blocked out of on disc is the foundations for expansion.
-
Unforutnately I do not have the luxury of the option to not buy the DLC as I had pre-ordered the game with the season pass. If the leaked information about the DLCs are true then I will definitely not be purchasing any Destiny title in the future.
-
Will buy season pass and all destiny titles cause money
-
I share your opinion but the publisher have a limit of 69$ (also 69€ sadly that are more than 82$) Microsoft and Sony allow them. If they want more money, like 100$, they have to sell it with dlcs or limited editions.
-
4 Respuestasand also it cost me over 37$ and its like what the heck man why does activation have to be so greedy because other games don't make u pay that much for dlc
-
1 RespuestaFunny seeing all the comments "omg told you it's on disc, Dlc should be free now, they are screwing us" odd because I didn't see any enemy's, bosses or balance new loot..... I didn't graduate from Harvard but I think that says there is nothing but a empty testing ground for developing Dlc. Grow up lol

Am i the only one who does not give a single -blam!- about if the dlc is on the game or not?
-
I already spent about 100 hours of gameplay, and what's 35€ anyway? That's the price for a meal in a normal restaurant where I live.

Do tell me how to purchase a game. Like you have any right.

29 RespuestasEditado por A-YO-GRANT: 10/14/2014 8:39:57 AMAlways vote with your wallet. Nov 18th will be my final day on this shell of a product. Not buying dlc, not buying anything Destiny or Bungie related, ever. I tell my customers the exact same and thanks to not only our store but our region as well. Our GameStops have over a thousand used copies (regional wise) that we talk people OUT of buying. Those who buy the used usually to "try out" return said copies typically by the 2nd day. I'm proud to do my part in spreading the word that shit should NEVER be practiced. Make a stand. Spread the world. Sadly for me I already spent my money on the retail copy and played Diablo to death. So until Nov 18 I shall be getting my money's worth (which if you look at my hours played I more then have). A shame. Note worthy mention is that the soundtrack and art direction is amazing. Hats off to those people, sorry Corporate Commander had to mess up your companies future. On a lone enough time line it was bound to happen.
