Editado por Xienne_: 10/18/2014 8:04:04 PMI have a friend that is incredibly skilled at this game but never got lucky like I did. I suck at FPS games compared to him, but I have better gear because I got lucky. Apparently he's "weak" because he isn't lucky. I guess Luck=Skill nowadays.

DONT REMOVE XUR, I know he's a retarded piece of crap, but it's super cool for little kids and new players (I'm 17 I'm not speaking for myself). And he is a timed vendor, bungie wants people to play on Friday because XUR will be in the tower, HOWEVER: bungie should add a faction called the 9 and you should get 9 rep and coins. From events and weekly strikes,

if you earn it you are the hipsters of destiny

I paid about $89 for this game. Considering the lack of content at release, the least they can do is offer me the opportunity to purchase some loot using a strange coin currency that I "earned" in game. I've earned exotic weapons from bounties, but I fully support Xur in this game. Again, it's the least Bungie could do to offer me some value given the price of entry. 140 hours of grinding is not value. Yah , I'll take something from Xur. I soloed enough daily and weekly heroics and Nightfalls...I'm okay with him. I'm not one of those guys who joins in on a 1 minute VoG Hard Atheon cheese checkpoint just to get some exotic gear for no effort at all. That is BS. If you think you've "earned" anything exotic that was not from a bounty, you may want to reconsider. This game's loot system is too random to hang your hat on that position. Poor performance in this game is often rewarded with exotic loot in high level missions. It's a crap shoot, almost literally. To me, if you did a full raid from beginning to end and killed Atheon without pushing him off...then you earned whatever loot the random drop gave you. I still support Xur.

Damn straight! I love earning my Exotics! RNG-Jesus. Farming for strange coins that can take forever and is much harder to get than they way I earn my Exotics are for idiots! I got mine legit. EARNED that -blam-. Joined a Crucible match, got one kill, and got my gun. -blam-ing EARNED!
-
If you don't earn something you don't deserve to play this game. Remove Xur.
What a -blam!-ing idiot lol Earning coins through weekly = earning exotics This isnt real life you don't earn anything in this game unless a mission or something specifically tells you that you get said item.
-
You earned your exotic more so by purchasing it from Xur than you do from the RNG system on random engrams and missions. The only weapons and armour you "earn" are Exotic Bounties and Raid Gear/Weapons.
-
Just got a suros drop in PvP is out okay if I use it?
-
Random drops are random. Strange Coin drops can also be random, but 3-9 can be guaranteed (i.e. earned) by playing the weekly Heroic Strike (amount increases with difficulty). They can also appear in large numbers as rewards from the Nightfall Strike, I got 7 Strange Coins as my reward for this weeks Nightfall. So you can either play Tiger Strikes or the Crucible and hope to randomly get lucky or you can collect Strange Coins and wait for Xur to have the exotic item you want. Both offer the same pool of exotics. Performance in said game modes has no effect on drop rate. Some people have posted strategies that include intentionally losing quickly in kill based Crucible games to speed up the process of finishing as many matches as possible in shorter periods of time. These same people have also documented successfully receiving exotics as random rewards whilst having no kills or assists, not even trying to win. Now tell me, does that seem earned to you?
-
Please enlighten me young troll, what weapons have you earned? And if I may ask, how did you earn them? I doubt you'll reply to me, but if you do; wepon name/how you got it.
-
Tell us all how YOU "earned" your stuff? Please. I can't wait to hear this.
-
The only exotic gun you can earn is the mythoclast

You must be weak to

Lol i hope you're kidding. Silly child, T rated games are for teens, not infants.

1 RespuestaAgreed, destiny is a game where grinding is a main factor. Whenever we put enough time and effort to earn something without buying it, it makes us feel great but whenever Xur sells something you already got and all those people who BOUGHT it by strange coins, we feel like shit because that means everyone else got what you got and ruins what the word Exotic means. Exotics are soposed to be very rare but whenever people hop on their 3 lvl 20+ character every week with a fireteam of 3 on lvl 28 hard for 9 strange coins, it ruins the name Exotic, instead Xur should call them Legendary. So i know i went on a ramble but i agree 100% with your point.

Dictionary.com defines Earn as -To gain especially for the performance of service, labor, or work. There is nothing in this game, as far as loot goes, that does not require some measure of labor. Even gaining coins requires effort. So everything that you get off a RNG drop, including coins, is earned. What you want to say is -I earned it more than you did. Wait am I being punked, is this one of those douchebag longface posts.

K Gollum go pet your precious.

Haha this is a stupid post. You don't "earn" anything in this game. It's all random loot. No such thing as beating something and getting exotics. Some people don't have good luck so they buy from xur
-
3/10, not bad young troll
-
Xur requires coins....which you earn....random drops are just that. Nothing earned about it. You have it backwards. Exotic bounties are also "earned" when completed, but random to even get the bounty to begin with.

2 RespuestasYou realize earning something in this game is severely limited, right? Things you CAN earn: Exotics from bounties = Earned Gear purchased from faction vendors = Earned. Things that are NOT earned: Post game reward gear = RNG based, luck. Gear aquired via Engrams = RNG based luck to recieve engram, RNG based luck to recieve gear from said Engram. Sadly enough, most seem to rely on the latter, the luck based system and then come on to these forums to complain about the luck based aspect not working in their favor rather than just -blam!-ing use marks/ complete exotic bounties. IF you do NOT have one of these Exotics: Thorn Bad Ju Ju Invective Super Good Advice Pocket Infinity Fate of All Fools [actually impossible to get right now] then guess what? you didn't earn your exotic, I had Ice Breaker way before Xur [Seriously, check my gear page, i have it maxed out] but did i earn that weapon? -blam!- no, i got lucky...
-
Xur is the man just telling the TRUTH, also bought Icebreaker, Suros, Red death, exotic armor and Gjallarhorn from him. Drops that I earned Super Good Advice, Bad Juju, invective, Plan c, Thorn, Patience and Time, Pocket Infinity,Monte Carlo and Last word.

1 RespuestaI don't want to come off as harsh, but here's the truth kid. I paid the 65+ dollars to buy the game. I think me working 40hrs+ a week "earns" me the privilege to do whatever I feel with the game I purchased with my own money. If the game allows me buy stuff from Xur with the strange coins and mottes of light I grinded for, then damm well I'm gonna do it. #Rant#lol
-
You realize this game is more about the long run than the week-to-week right? Honest to god, give it a month and nobody will be using their Xur stuff anymore and they'll seem rare to you again. I can believe people lack the foresight to see that. Your favorite "earned" weapon sells to a select number of people over 2 days, suddenly everybody everywhere has it forever and that totally ruins its usefulness.
-
How is RNG loot more of an earning method than strange coins are? RNG is completely random, while with strange coins, you do have to LITERALLY EARN THEM. If anything, buying things from Xur is more earning than RNG loot is.
-
you "earn" it if you buy it. you worked for the coins. If you got it from anything else you're just lucky.
