I got the icebreaker in the vault a couple weeks ago. Now xur has gave it to everyone that had 17 coins to burn. I don't know how i feel about that. I loved being one of the few that had one and when searching for a raid group this week it seemed easier cause i could say i had one.
I also look forward to xur and if he would have had something i wanted i would have bought it. Some other guy would be where i am.
I think if you can buy it, its not exotic. I also think if you get it from a lucky roll or random chest you can't say you really earned it.
Keep it clear and simple.
Keep them exotic by letting each account have only 1 per character, but only allow 1 in each persons inventory at any one time.
That way not everyone would choose to carry that paticular weapon.
Or let us earn it legit by only dropping it in a certain area like raid gear.
Just my thoughts they don't mean too much really. But i like reading the forums on my way to work or on lunch. If no one posted, we wouldn't have a forum.

They've already limited it to one armor piece and one weapon equipped. There's really no need to put a limit in how many you can carry in your inventory.

1 RespuestaYoure late to the exotic debate- it's over. You have to grind for coins or grind for RNGesus, there's no way to "earn" it. There's a corner in the Tower for special snowflakes that want to be the only ones with an exotic because they got a bounty or found it by luck.

2 RespuestasDude I get how it can bother you. It can lower your feeling of being unique "when" someone is rolling with something you got from where you're saying you got it. Not being mean, I'm not being sarcastic, and in no way am I being disrespectful... Someone earning coins, and spending them on something is another form of "work to earn" in Destiny. And another player having what you have does not de-value your item. If anything if you got it that way you can be proud of how you earned it, and if people claim you "didn't" you can show them the "three bonus text additional attributes" on your icebreaker are different from the one Xur sells. Cause item drops and rewards have random "bonus text attributes". And honestly I'd luv to see yours in the off chance 1 of those is better than what Xur has on his ice breaker. Be proud, you earned yours, that's tougher than coins regardless of people earning them also. ;o)

I put time grinding to get my strange coins also Some people don't have ample amounts of time to play and or 6 people that can play the raid so I think it it completely fair Besides you didn't grind to get it you got lucky because of an end of a game random roll or engram drop

3 RespuestasI believe the Xur version of each exotic should be a little different, maybe a different perk or one less DMG upgrade. At least that would allow "earners" to still be excited about their particular weapon and "casuals" get access to them as well. The whole loot system needs an overhaul in my opinion but it's already too late. The trend that disturbs me are the players complaining of being "punished" for not getting lucky drops. Since when is others' luck a punishment?!?
-
Xur should sell exotic bounties that cost around 50 coins instead of selling the actual items
-
Their making it easier to get loot because people are bored of the repetitive grind, Players will be leaving in droves very soon so bungie are trying to keep hold of them.
-
Xur should reward legendary...they broke the system when they made it so easy to get loot. There should be a select few that have exotics already...but hey maybe they will fix this down the road. They had to make the game easy and simple to appeal to everyone at launch. After a while they can tweak it to be better.
-
The only problem with Xur imo is I'm worried about the depth of the loot table. It's nice to be able to get your hands on an exotic if RNG isn't helping you out, but it seems like there's not really all that many exotics and I don't think the strange coins are enough if a limiting factor. It may be possible in a couple months to literally have every exotic in the game... and that kind of kills the grandeur, doesn't it? I want something like "collect all exotics" to be something you do along the way of a 1000+ hour character. I recommend a stopgap of limiting exotic purchases to one a week, and then pushing out a bunch of new ones. Increased toughness, longer blink distances, change a titan grenade to do AoE when he blasts off with boost, highlight targets or crit spots when aiming, ballistic shielding from your own grenades, give hunter knives poison, etc etc. Exotics IMO don't need to be more powerful than legendaries... just have unique and weird affixes that can open up your playstyle, and there needs to be a lot of them!

2 RespuestasXur could even sell 2 0r 3 weapons so people wont buy the same one. Sure the farmers could affoed it and they would be less rare, but at this rate the crucible is just a showcase of xur's weekly weapon shooting range.

7 RespuestasDude just because you were lucky doesn't give you that right to crap on other people. I've had TERRIBLE luck with this game, because that's all it is: luck. I sat down last night and grinded tiger strikes for about 4 hours last night and I didn't get jack-sh*t. Your efforts don't influence your rewards in this game, so saying you "earned" it while simultaneously talking down to people who buy their guns is a load of bull. You didn't earn it, you FOUND it. The only exception is Raid-specific gear found whilst raiding.
-
I agree it shouldn't be called exotic. I started thinking of them as class 1 weapons, or class 2, class 3 (being exotic) and so forth. They really screwed with people's minds calling them legendary/exotic. I don't think exotic meant rare in their minds, it meant different from the others.

1 RespuestaEditado por Lupin: 10/11/2014 8:15:49 PMWhat they could do is make items only drop from certain bosses like boss drops rather than random drops
-
11 RespuestasNot everyone raids, I solo and run matchmaking strikes. Why should we be punished. I can understand your frustration but think about the whole game. For me, strange coins are very hard to get.
-
Boss and game-play specific exotic drops would be nice, just like the bounty-exclusive weapons. But I would be careful to make them unique, with so many complaints about PvP/PvE. Having an exotic shotgun only be a PvP item equals a whole bunch of people up in arms about being 'forced' to play Crucible. Legendary stuff is fine as exclusive bonuses, but, outside Raids, there should be no barrier to receiving top tier items.

Also, it's not us vs you or anyone vs anyone else. When do you see anyone gear? This is not a real MMO like WOW, that gear means something player to player, you need different gear for different reasons, not this game.

4 RespuestasWell iv been playing since day one and havent got one exotic? Wtf is that all mine are from xur or bountys

2 RespuestasI got mine from this week's night fall Thursday night before xur pit it up on sale. And you know what? No big deal. It's a great freaking gun and anyone who can should get it. I don't see why I'd deserve it more than someone else just because I got lucky with drops that one instance. I'm not saying your bitching, in fact your being very civil which is a nice change on these forums, but there are so many people crying foul because of this. I can promise you that there's still not gonna be as many ppl with it ad you'd expect because they are still not giving the damn thing away. Those who get it through Xur still earned it because the coins are still a freaking grind. The lv28 weekly isn't a cake walk for some you know. 5 of six of my exotic weapons are through exotic Bounties and those were a chore, but if tomorrow Xur put up the thorn or bad juju on sale, I wouldn't be raging on here. I'd just say you lucky sobs your lucky. Just my 2 glimers.
-
My issue is with how exotics drop. Is so random as to why people get certain weapons and other people get nothing. I like the idea that to get to level 30 you need raid gear. Why not make certain strikes have the chance to drop certain weapons on level 28+ difficulty. But you can only have that chance once a week like with the raid gear. Just to give a little more focus as opposed to just hoping you will get a random drop that is an exotic.
-
LOL I got my voidfang within 30mins of hitting 20 and thats day 2 after release. I personally don't care that Xur is selling them now. A geared player base is less frustrating to get matchmade with.
-
6 RespuestasYah, I picked up Ice Breaker. It stings me like a fissure in the ass to pick up stuff from him (I think he shouldn't sell exotic anything, only exotic bounties and purple items). But I have to keep up with the crowd. I keep accidentally trying to pick up ammo for Ice Breaker! A very nice sniper rifle, though.

ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY XUR!!

1 RespuestaI feel the same way to, but think of it like this...you got lucky and got it in a chest or rng prize for beating the level. That other guy that bought it, he did his grind to....to get the coin to buy it. So at first I was upset, but then I realized he worked for his to. Just I feel better knowing I got mine for free :)
