I have been doing iron banner today, in one of the games three guys turned tail and backed out, leaving us 2v5. It wasnt pretty.
Got a message off a couple of the guys on the other team afterwards saying "gg for staying" and "respect for not ragequitting" whether they felt my pain because it had happened to them or were just being good sports, it was appreciated. Thank you.
then a few games later the same thing happened again except I was on the other team. it was a bitter sweet victory.
I guess im writing this to give all guardians who "hang in there" a shout out, you brave few are the real champions in my opinion.
Has something similar happened to you?
I would like to hear your stories.

Editado por Legionaire161: 10/26/2015 7:09:09 PMOn the first day of this past IB, my second match was myself vs the other team. 5 of them were in a clan, and after the match, one of them messaged me asking if I'd done the raid yet. I had, but they invited me anyway. At first I thought they were gonna make fun of me, cuz I died ALOT during the IB match, but it turned out, they were really cool dudes, and they thanked me for staying, and that they respected me for not just leaving and they gave me props for putting up a good fight. Since then, I play with at least 1 of them every night, and they're all on my friends list. I'm glad I stayed to, cuz they're great friends, and they don't care that my k/d is bad. And they don't make me feel stupid if I ask a question about the game. Basically, they're the complete opposite of 95% of this community. Sometimes, it pays off not to be a dick in the game.

Necrobump for people who haven't quit destiny
-
I fail to see the point in quitting anything, you have just as much chance to get something at the end regardless. The only times I quit are: 1) Something comes up that won't take under 2min. 2) Idlers.
-
I refuse to quit, whether it's iron banner or doing the same strike for the, yes, 6th straight time. I understand connection issues and they will always be around but quitting because your losing...I can't tell you how many times myself or team has made a comeback to win...so to all those guardians who go through the ugly loses it makes the victories that much better. Tip of the hat...now dance..
-
Hell yeah man. Win some and lose some just gotta stick with it!
-
2 RespuestasStory of my life when me and my crew play crucible. Just quit...youre wasting our time searching for 1 or 2 people.
-
3 Respuestashang in there guys! random number generator is in your favor!
-
1 RespuestaI never win in crucible because of my useless teammates anyway, what difference will one match make?
-
4 Respuestaskudos to you :] this is an example of one of those potential "game breaking" patches they could do so easily. punish those who leave? im all for punishing QUITTERS. but how do you differentiate bad connection, bad servers, or you know, life happening?
-
Every time I play iron banner my team loses because some jackwagons leave and I get stuck with a losing team in the middle of a game. Bungie should make one of the possible rewards 100 rep or something so people have an incentive to stay.

Editado por Squizzlor: 10/12/2014 9:32:30 PMYep had that afew times not only in banner, try if im on the higher hand to take it easy and try to dance with them, wish i could give a word out to my fellow team mates to be better sports

You the real mvp

I have done plenty of matches(895), only intentionally left a match maybe 4 times with good reason. Either I was alone or I only had 2 players & I, both would keep running off & scatter while the other team stayed together & kept taking us out 1 by 1
-
thus the reason why i dont play Crucible, Bungie, implement a system that punishes players that rage quit to mant games!
-
1 RespuestaI had 3 matches where 3 players were AFK.... the entire bloody match. It's giving me more and more reason to deeply hate this game... i stopped playing tonight, don't think i'll return to destiny. It's not worth the frustrations.
-
It's definitely bad form to ragequit, but try to remember that it isn't always intentional either. Destiny has some major server issues. Last night we were at Altheon in VoG when 4 of the 6 players got Error code Zebra and were booted out. Two of them were able to log back before the remaining 2 of us got Zebra. That's literally 6 totally unrelated players from who-knows-where in the world all being booting within the span of 2 to 3 minutes. The same thing is definitely possible in the crucible.

10 RespuestasOne night while playing clash we noticed all but one guardian in our opponent team left the match. So we hunted her down like a pack of wolves. After killing her once or twice we saw that she is sitting by the river (Rusted Lands) all alone. So all six of us surrounded her but didn't kill her. We sat there for the rest of the match just to respect the sole player of the other team for not leaving the match.
-
Me and 2 others got put into a game already loosing by 7000+. All 3 points lost, no coming back from that! STOP RAGEQUITTING PEOPLE.
-
The part where they say BE BRAVE I think they meant when a party leaves you to go solo..
-
My friend and I were on Iron Banner and some left once we were down by 1,000. Which is dumb because that's nothing. There was a fireteam of 3 on the other team moving together and they were constantly in the lead until the last thousand points. We overtook them 5v6 by holding 2 flags and getting kill streaks with heavy/ supercharge. I sent a message: Subject: GG Body: and -blam!- the chair youre sitting on.

2 RespuestasEditado por Walter Melon: 10/10/2014 11:46:56 PMThe only reason I don't quit is because I need the points for a bounty. Thats it. I leave when I feel that I am carrying my team way too much. Im talking my team is winning till I stand guard at a post and my team loses the objectives. Yeah after about 5 mins of trying to get the lead back I will give up. Yup I will quit. Don't care what you think of me. Sometimes its not worth all the effort for a loss.
-
heck i was the only dude left on my team, still found it funny trying to run into a group of enemies and try to take atleast one dude out. if i stay in game or back out of the game i'm not getting any IB rep either way so why not enjoy the end of the match
-
When a match is unbalanced (3-5) I just find a nice view and sit it out.
-
Many a time i have come into a match that other people have vacated, i think its more fun being an underdog and trying to defeat your opponents who can out number you 2 to 1. It is good if you can disrupt a killing spree, or get a couple kills using nova bomb or golden gun. I think everyone takes it too seriously, you aren't playing with friends but you need to treat them like that even if you have only met them for a couple of seconds, if you are finding that there is one particular person that is lower score, follow them around, there are bound to be a reason why they are not playing as well, and usually they are bait for you to take down the oppressors,. just have fun, sure eveyone was hanging out for Iron Banner, its just a control game with no cruicible rep points, i haven't found people easier or harder in Iorn Banner, just people are better at team work and if your finding your trying to control B on Firebase Delphi and you are consistantly getting killed. Try A or C.........
-
Bungie wont fix their reward system any time soon nor will they add a voting/map selection system so i never really get mad when people go afk or just flat out quit the game. No one likes being forced to play the same map 6 times over nor do people like trying hard in multi player and watching the person in last place get an exotic while you get nothing.

4 RespuestasI am not a PvP guy but it has happened to me on strikes. I found myself alone and out gunned but tried anyway. After seeing that it was kind of impossible for me - I then left but it feels like what you wrote above. My thing is if you are going to bail out and there may be real human reasons - like going to the bathroom or for younger players having their moms yell at them to go to bed or do homework or whatever - then at least let the others know by waving goodbye. This is just showing decent human respect something many players need to learn. I am 54 years old so I HAVE to know - you younger bloods - well you should learn now as it will help you in other areas of your life. I strike with a 19 year old who has helped me and another of my friends consistently and he is respectful and humble. It is only a game after all.
