**EDIT: I wrote this in reply to all the "gamergirls hate" threads I have been seeing lately. Personally I see gamers as gamers no matter the gender. I play to have fun, have a laugh and I am certainly too lazy to hold grudges. I want these 'gamergirls' to stop tarring the whole community, esp the male element of the community, with the same brush because of a few bad experiences.**
I have seen a lot posts in the forum lately about how us females have it bad when gaming. Though yes we do get male gamers that are sexist, rude etc they are however in the minority. There is no need to avoid the mic because of them. There is no need to reply to them. This is what they are wanting. Just mute, block, report and move on.
Some male gamers are complete gentleman when they realise we are female. This can be just as problematic because some will go out of their way to 'protect' us over achieving the team goal or helping other team mates.
Most male gamers though treat us no different to the other male gamers because, at the end of the day, we are all gamers no matter our gender. We all laugh, flirt, have fun, fart, burp, rage etc etc.
Yes I have had the random photo of some guys male organ (evidence right there for them to be banned if reported,) told to go back to the kitchen (I run a tight household. I cook, they eat and if they do not like what I have cooked then they starve,) told to make a sandwich (I make the best sandwiches ever!) as well as the usual "I slept with your mum" (really? You like Pork Pie then?) and other random non-gender kiddie insults. Seriously just role your eyes up, block/report and move on.
But you know something my fellow gamers? It is not just the male gamers. I have witnessed behaviour from female gamers that is just as bad. From over the top feminists to jealousy to bitching to those whoring themselves out for xbox points (when points where the xbox currency.) So come on girls and ladies our gender is no saint in this.
In regards to the Destiny Community, minus PvP since I do not play it and therefore have no opinion/insight on it, I have had no problem with gender issues. The random fireteams I have been on, even a raid I was randomly invited to, the males have treated me no different to how they treated each other. The raid especially is some of the best fun I have had in this game and I have made some awesome friends on the way.
Anyway girls, ladies...lets stop the moaning and just remember the simple method of dealing with the few fools out there (Mute, Block, Report and Move on) and not tar all male gamers with the same brush.

3 RespuestasAm I the only one who hasn't run into another female in Destiny? I've run into plenty of people without microhpones though, in which case get an immediate boot. I mean, it's 2014. WHY NO MIC? But perhaps it's all the women who think they'll be a victim of e--blam!- when all they have to do is mute/block if someone is a douche.

5 Respuestas"Advice for Female Gamers" Don't mention you're a female gamer. /thread
-
-blam!- that res shit. I'm done with it. That's where 75% of my deaths come from. Unless your body is in a clear patch of turf from now on, you're just going to wait your 30 -blam!-ing seconds. Girl or not you're -blam!-ing waiting from now on. *mumbles something about trying to be a hero and getting kneecapped by a damned hobgoblin*
-
I feel as this is appropriate for the topic at hand.
-
Everytime I join a party with a female for VoG...she's acting like a -blam!-bag leading the ignorant losers on, who have zero game, but give her all the attention she craves. That being said, all of you aren't bad...but 99.9999% can go make me a sandwich. Don't mic up.

19 RespuestasLet's be real. No matter the game (WoW, COD, Halo, Titanfall, Destiny, whatever)... I've run into girls. I have yet to witness a "feminist" or hardass "leave me alone let's just play" type of girl. With MAYBE one or two exceptions I can think of in years and years of online gaming (I'm 34)... I hear these girls try to alter their voices or tones to talk seductively, make *odd* noises and squeals that intentionally sound like moans etc, make endless double entendre statements, or just spout blatant & suggestive innuendo. Whether it's been for in-game items or just attention in general in environments where trading doesn't exist... Nearly every single one I've run into acts this way. I know within one game whether if there's a lobby I'm going to leave just because a female is present. And most of the time, she drives the behavior of the lobby. It is my sincere hope that more girls adopt the mute and move on, treat me like everyone else and I'll do the same mentality. Assuming they are fun and intelligent and skilled... I'd play with them any day just like I would any guy who fit the criteria. I understand, most of these girls looking for attention on Xbox are lacking it out in the "real world" per se. I've looked up some of the Instagram accounts they freely give out to lobbies and... bruh... bruh. nabro. Come on bro. Hit the gym. Lift a little. Run. Do something other than donuts and video games. Learn hygiene. I'm sorry to sound harsh but, I've had too many lobbies with friends I've made online become absolute nightmares to be in while these girls dangle their pervy allusions KNOWING what they're doing. Please understand this statement is limited to 99% majority of the sample group of girls I've met online. I know a handful who happen to enjoy *casual* gaming who behave like normal adults, and I'm sure there are many more avid female gamers out there who go by the OP's mantra of not talking or just staying above the noise. I think most guys can be honest and agree that's the online experience , though I know there are going to be the ones who are lovestruck by some of these girls and will likely disavow any validity to this.

I-I-I want to marry you.... That was so beautiful. *Weeps manly tears*

2 RespuestasAdvice for (some, not all) male gamers Stop acting like pricks and treat girl gamers with respect.

15 RespuestasRight on! I've had it with all these 'Hi, my name is GamerGirlxXxMyLittlePonyPinkFLower, but don't you dare saying something that refers to my gender, cuz that's out of order. You can give me free shit, treat me nice and all that, but don't do anything that I don't like or I will call you a perv, a womanhater or an unfair player'.' It don't work like that. I've been playing games for over 15 years. Are women allowed to play it? Offcourse, do most women like videogames? No. Does that mean that there probably will always be more men than female gamers? Probably. Get -blam!-ing used to it. It's a mans thing, if you wanna play with the big boys, don't go crying like a little girl. If you can't stand the heat, by all means, do go back to the kitchen. I'm proud of being a female gamer, really -blam!-ing proud, but I also know what the price is for 'showing it off'.

Teehee....you said "moaning"....

The attention seeking ones are annoying though...

Well Said. Male Gamers can be jerks

1 RespuestaI couldn't read your post. There is a hot pic of Cortana in the corner of it. And yes I am one of those who hit on gamer girls a lot. :P
-
1 RespuestaYou hit it, girl. Gamers are gamers. Eyes and ears take in information, brain processes, hands react. In the end, we are all part of the same 0,1 compost heap. As for attitude, I have seen some major trash talking in my day. Male, female, indifferent, they can all be hateful. They all just really need a good hug. Player skill? When it comes to any FPS, I'll take my 13 year old girl and my friend in England (female) against any three of you any day of the week and I don't look back. I'm not a vocal player without my own squad. So I have certainly not earned the animosity some females seem to have against men. So thanks for not putting me in the same bucket. But it goes to show, if there are enough women bad mouthing men to earn this reply, then guys, try to be the better example instead of throwing more gas on the fire. I don't have time to get into the Jungian psychology of why male gamers are rude, but it is a choice, not a right, that they behave that way. See you in the crucible.

My daughter is an avid gamer, comic book reader, Cosplayer, AND nurse. It's kind of unsettling to hear some of the nasty or lecherous things that come acrossed the mics... it's usually after she starts outperforming the dweebs. In other games it's just mute&boot... with Destiny it only takes a little reporting and an "avoid player" on the Xbox. I have to admit... I ALWAYS play the female characters for several reasons: 1) Even though the hit-box is the same it's usually a smaller screen signature (harder to be seen when being stealthy in PvP). 2) With no voice Comms in PvP matchmaking it makes the Neanderthals RAGE when they get cut down by a "hot pink & purple girl"... and raging Neanderthals are easier to take down in PvP. 3) I happens to like goils Girls can be Champions and Legends too... Start a Clan. Keep up the good work.

4 RespuestasEditado por veilsix: 10/10/2014 3:59:20 PMAn illustration of how the gaming community relates to girls. Today, the forums have been raging at Xur, or at each other, over Icebreaker. People are angry, with Bungie, with Xur, with each other, with their mom's choice of Hostess snacks in their bagged lunch. But enter this thread, by a girl, who says she is happy about getting her Ice Breaker from Xur. http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/72336754/0/0 This thread seems to be exempt from disagreement by the enraged community that is up in arms about the Ice Breaker "issue". So even though hordes of guys are genuinely angry and raging at each other over this, as soon as a girl states an opinion... they are falling over themselves to either agree, or post neutral comments that cannot agree, or invite her to use this new gun with them, or just bypass altogether "say something nice or not at all". So where is this camaraderie all over the rest of the forums? Personally I agree with her, I'm gonna buy that gun. But it bothers me how gamers' behavior changes just because a female is involved. So take that, and multiply it by an in-person/voice encounter in every gaming lobby, and you'll have an idea of what happens when a female is in the room. And this one in particular wasn't even being flirtatious or announcing she's a girl... these guys are just going off her screen name and gamer girl avatar pic. It's my dream that one day the community sees every other member regardless of gender as just another gamer, and befriends them, agrees with them or not based on their personality and opinions... not just because of thirst/need for attention.
-
I just don't get it tbh, why some guys are total pricks to women in games or overly nice to them as if they have to protect them. The way I see it is, bring some banter and your A game to the table and we will have a good time playing together whatever gender you are. I wont change my manner over the mic just because a woman is there. I will remain civil, engage in some friendly ribbing, make a bad joke or two and anyone who can join in with that is always welcome to join the group.

Editado por Felicia402: 10/9/2014 5:22:22 PMShit don't have to be deal as long as you don't make it a big deal. It's as simple as that.

I think it is awesome when I get my a$$ handed to me by a girl gamer in pvp, but you never know if it is really a girl. There are lots of guys playing with female characters. Yep, just a little disturbing. Oh well like the post.
-
I support girl gamer.
-
god women even waffle on in txt not just in speech......who knew!
-
I only care about how well you can put down those targets.
-
Girls don't play games, stop being silly! But seriously, I've had my arse handed to me by female gamers of all ages and was a gentleman about it. Some males just can't take it so mute, and get on with it. Enjoy the fruits of digital entertainment no matter the sex.
-
If I ever disrespected a female gamer my sister would summon her gnome mage from WoW and throw a lightning bolt at me or whatever spell WoW mages use.
-
Ugh you know with all awareness talk your really neglecting my sandwich making and thats just unacceptable.
