I hope you're aware that (in both rteh real world and Destiny) Mars, Venus and the Moon have no native inhabitants, and Humans are the native inhabitants of Earth. In the Destiny setting Mars and Venus are both heavily teraformed, and were not hospitable to life prior to that.In the real world life (intelligent or otherwise) appears to be very rare, and even if that turns out to not be the case it's still very likely that uninhabited planets would be more common than inhabited ones.

A lot of you are approaching this as if it is a dumb or unrealistic concept. Bungie created a universe that has teleportation, magic, aliens, light speed travel, and the concept of planetary life is unimaginable? I think that added back ground life would make this game feel more alive. Also, many comments remark of no life. Venus has plants, therefore life. Yes, I realize it takes millions of years for evolution but this is a fantasy world where a giant sphere called the Traveler could easily have made more life.
-
How can I be aware when nothing is said in game or I missed it.
-
Why do you need the game to tell you something that pretty much everyone knows. if you have missed the fact that our 3 closest stellar neighbours are devoid of life then your teachers failed you at school
-
They must have failed me because they taught me nothing about Fallen, Cabal or Vex either.
-
What on earth did they teach you then? Thats outrageous. I see you left out the Hive so I assume they at least taught you the basics then
-
They always told me an apple a day keeps the Hive at bay.
-
All of which are fictional.
-
No shit. Sorry for asking a question I obviously missed the answer to whilst playing Destiny's awesome story that explains everything so well.
-
There never should have been a question. You're asking Destiny to explain something to you that you should have learned in Elementary school. This is basic science. The was never a need for an explanation.
-
You are bringing non-fiction into a fictional game with little to no story and are saying my education is poor. Ok. So according to you, since we are fighting Vex, Cabal and Fallen in this video game now, humanity is going to encounter these races in the future in real life. You are saying the game Destiny is our actual Destiny?
-
Of course not. Don't be ridiculous. I'm saying that the fictional world of Destiny is set in our future. It's based on our real world. Therefore things that are true in our real world now will also be true in Destiny's future. Since there are no Aliens native to our solar system there also can't be any in Destiny. This isn't something the game needs to explain or should be expected to explain, anymore than it needs to explain why your character needs a spaceship to fly to Venus, why you get hurt when you're shot by a gun or why the sky is sometimes dark and sometimes light.
-
If you got that from the story, fair enough. All I got was Traveler terraformed the planets, now we need to eradicate two alien religions. What do you think of the Dragons and vegetation on Venus? And someone said earlier in game your ghost says the ruins on Venus predate humanity. So what was there before humanity if it is based on our future?
-
You're confusing intentional mysteries for lack of information.
-
Editado por CheaterMcCheat: 10/6/2014 7:17:16 PMAre they intentional mysteries though or just bad storytelling? I mean I have some people telling me this game is based on our future when in some places it forgets our past, like the fact we already know Venus is lifeless, then peter tells us it isn't and shit was there before us.
-
Are you serious? That would be like saying you can't figure out why there are no Aliens in GTA 5. Destiny is set in our future. Do you believe that, right now, there are aliens living on Venus, Mars and the Moon? Because there aren't. So why would they be there in Destiny? Of course nothing is said in the game. The designers of the game have assumed that you realized that there are no aliens living in our solar system, let along native to planets in our solar system.
-
But there are aliens living in our solar system in this game :) and these planets have been terraformed completely. What of animals, even insects? Pets of the Hive on the moon? Fallen on the earth? What do they all eat? Each other?
-
There are insects on Venus. The only thing we have for sure is that ether is the key for the Fallen to survive (at least on Earth). I would like to know what do they eat, though... Also, what do Sangheili eat? what do Volus eat?
