I'm gonna step out on a limb here and instead of Destiny-bashing (which is certainly tempting at times), make a helpful, plausible suggestion that would make the 6 Strikes more enjoyable... or at least different. Add a random element! Random enemy spawn locations, random variety of enemies ranging in strength. Every play - through would be different, and challenging to one degree or another. I imagine it would be an easy thing for Bungie to change.

Well they didn't change the enemy spawn locations, but they DID make them more challenging... which I think is a good start. I remember after the update I was playing a Strike and went to do what I normally do... wade into a buncha bad guys and pummel the crap outta them. Boy was I surprised when I had my ass handed to me... by the same enemies I cut through like a hot knife through butter just a week prior.
-
This^! I have no clue how hard it would be or if it's even possible, but some type of random element wold be awesome. I can think f so many things that could be done. I'd even pay for it at this point. Drop ships on patrol come at the same point...same enemies come out of the same caves...same baddies thru the big door... Maybe they know we are coming and instead of Septiks there's a freakin huge arcon or something waiting for us.
-
Sure! Just pay 40 bucks.

I was thinking that each strike could have 3 different paths, like let's say in the nexus after u kill the 3 servators instead of going up to end up fighting the nexus boss a different objective takes u down a different path to a different boss, like since the fallen are invading the vex there it could take u to fallen boss play through or a third objective option with a different boss. If u think about it if each had 3 different objectives with the current 5 (6 ps4) that would be 15 (18 ps4) different outcomes. One idea I had for a boss fight could be a fallen ship appears that you have to destroy using 3 different cannons, each cannon has a shield and a one time use. While the ship is bombarding you fallen attack u on the ground aswell. During the fight so you can take down a cannons shield, a mini boss like capt or higher ranking fallen appears and u have to kill him in order to gain access to the one cannon, each mini boss can be different aswell abilities etc. Basically 3 waves 3 cannon shots to take down the invading ship.

Suggestions: 1. Randomize trash spawns (ie on the Archon Priest level, add a drop ship or two at random) 2. Add handicaps (modifiers) on the harder strike playlists 3. If they stopped making bullet sponges (one can dream) - add a time limit challenge on certain strikes 4. Increase boss movement speed as health decreases (call it an enrage proc? Limit it to certain strikes or settings) 5. Current Strike-specific bounties which are automatic and unstated (such as don't die on a same level Strike--extra loot, precision kill ratio, etc) 6. Instead of a static precision damage zone, give enemies a mechanic like the Devil Walker: must disable it to reveal the precision damage zone (example, the Nexus on Venus: the boss starts with a complete 360 degree damage shield. Each wave of attackers releases one unique Ultra who, when defeated, fragments a bit of the damage shield, allowing a crack shot to damage the boss. Each successive wave allows players to further destroy shields) This is all pretty basic stuff. If you've ever played video games, you can come up with 100 of these in an afternoon without drastically altering the code.
-
Definitely. Bump
-
Good points but on the nexus strike you just have to aim above the shield and you can still damage it on all sides so you don't really have to have it fragmented if your a good shot anyway
-
Those are some AWESOME ideas! And you're right, wouldn't take much to change on Bungie's end.
-
Unfortunately I have submitted numerous suggestions and an enormous amount of people have been throwing out ideas here on this forum only to be drowned out by the mindless bitching, people posting they are leaving for reason X, and conspiracy theorists on how Bungie is trying to screw you out of money through DLCs , that it has become impossible for any constructive subject to be seen by Bungie.
-
It might help a little. But in the end it's still the same trash mobs that we can cut through in fifteen seconds leading up to the same exact boss fight we've experienced a hundred times over. What we need is actual motivation to repeat this content.
-
Been trying that since beta with zero success
-
I just can't believe it wasn't set up like that from the start. Now we are all just going through the motions.
-
Not bad actually good idea!
-
This would be a great idea, Bungie please see this.
-
I totally agree. I just wonder why something like this wasn't obvious to someone at Bungie during development. It's stuff like this, very simple logic, that I can't believe isn't built into a game that was in development for 5+ years. There is a long list of common sense attributes that were left out of this game. To have to add them or fix so many things after release is one of the reasons it feels so much more like a Beta than a full finished game.
-
Totally agree with you on everything, it feels like we are play testing the Beta for a game coming out next year. There's so much potential and so many things left out that should have been no brainers. There's been more creativity in the suggestions on this forum in 3 weeks it's hard to believe they spent 4 years making this game.
-
I've said this before, the game needed another year for sure.
-
I agree. The finished product feels... unfinished, or half-assed. It's a great game, but it could've been SO much better. Maybe it will be? Bungie seems to have enough control on their end to make big changes. Going back to my original statement... ever noticed how, on almost every map and mission, there are at least a half dozen (or more) doors/entryways/caves that nothing EVER spawns out of? I wonder why that is...
-
I think (hope) that these caves and doors will lead to new parts of the maps that will be added later.
-
Right now, as far as we know, it'll be added through paid DLC. It's also looking like that means 4-5 new missions, 1-2 strikes, and a raid for 20$. Which I wouldn't mind if this game didn't come with so little content.
-
That's a great idea! It would certainly be a good start until they could get some more strikes in place! At the moment I think most of us know exactly where to look for the next wave of enemies. I don't want to bash Destiny too much either, because the game play is fun, but it's lacking much content.
-
Exactly! We all know where the enemies come from, when they will come from that area, how many of them there will be, and what ranks will be included. Those of us who play Strikes repeatedly are just going through the motions at this point. With a random element you'd have to stay on your toes and work as a team at all times. Going "lone wolf" would end rather abruptly...
-
Agree so much with this.

Editado por phaseadept: 10/6/2014 1:52:25 AMRandomness should be involved. Also hive should appear from pools, fallen just climb over and around stuff. It should feel alive. I should panic when I hear a thrall scream, not only because I don't know where they are coming from, but that there are so many I have to make sure I have enough bullets. Also thralls should spawn with charging Knights. They should not be separate waves.
