sneaking up on people is how hunters should be played, they are an assassin type class, the fact that you aren't required to play that way and can superman into a large group and expect to get a kill or two is what throws it all out.
stealth and surprise, they are likened to bounty hunters and survivalist, the knife is for stealth kills, how many of the above would charge up to their target like some sort of knife psychopath? yet that's what they ALL DO, there's no bonus for jumping an unsuspecting hunter, because hitting them in the back twice and grenading them still leaves them with enough hp to turn around and one shot you, and unless your at extremely long range, he'll kill you no matter what weapon you've got, they can survive a full fusion rifle blast to the face too! and rockets! how is it fair that hunters are stoppable by two weapon types in the game, heavy machine gun and shotguns?
if hunters were meant to play like a titan and run headfirst into everything, they wouldn't have stealth or blink.

Thats why I love the Active Radar during aiming. I can take the control point and see from where they are coming. then I switch to Heavy MG and shoot them down. Or I kill one make it look like I am bout to run away then turn around behind the corner and activate Blade Dancer. Surprise.

stealth and surprise? fine! if you manage to sneak up on a group, then yes you should wreak havoc, that's the risk vs reward of the ability, just the same as titans have to run into melee range, warlocks have to expose themselves for a nova ( too far and it won't hit anything), and even radiance has the same 'stoppability' as golden gun unless you talent into it.

Id love to play stealth style but shotguns and motion radar make it impossible. Also you mention back stab idea. I like that idea, a one shot kill option like halo. Blade dancer lunges and misses you could back stab him, I think that should be implemented.
