True it would be interesting. But A what would they be mining. Maybe exporting gasses and chemicals to be made in to fuel. But I don't know why everyone is obsessed with mining colonies. B A floating city that has been abandoned for hundreds of years wouldn't still be floating. Unless it's occupied by the cabal or whatever.

Jesus, do I have to think of everything. :) Also, why wouldn't a floating city abandoned for hundreds of years still be floating? Where is it going to go in a world that is literally all air. :) (and yes I understand that logic dictates that if the floating city "dropped" further into the core of the planet it would be crushed by the massive pressure. But c'mon we're talking science fiction/fantasy and thus we can do things that break the bounds of actual science.
