Are people bored because. . .

I'm not saying the game doesn't have flaws, and some of these flaws glare in your face (I'm talking to you Cryptarch). I wonder if people are "bored" because they've logged in 60+ hrs and blew through the game in 2 weeks, meanwhile the game has barely been out 2 weeks. Not trying to start a war, just wondering people's thoughts!!! I feel like I've gotten my money's worth. My only real gripe is the Randomized loot. I get that Bungie want you to get rep and get marks, and THATS how you obtain Legendaries but a lot of people don't have that kind of time. So maybe this is why they are bored. In that sense,IMO, if that's how u want the game to be played don't bother putting random drops. Or maybe it should be X boss has X amount of percent to drop this weapon. Similar to BL2. That way I'm grinding but with a guarantee. So when that SOB finally does drop, I feel like I've grinded for something. I'm all for the grind just make it accessible to everyone!!!   • Only noobs have problems with the crypt arch. Hover levels had to work hard for what they got. Cater to the noobs so they all catch up for December. I'm glad I won't be playing to see my hard work shit on

      Personally i played Halo backwards and forwards and sideways and played the story Misson a thousand times and it was always engaging because you knew what you where doing why you where doing it! Masterchief had a profile and interesting interaction with Cortana and guilty spark Now look at Destiny you get no background other than whatever and if you want any Information you need to leave the game go to a website A game is not interesting long term if you don't get a why, where and how things happened

      • Getting marks isn't very time consuming compared to a straight loot grind. If you only do the strike playlist 2-3 times a day (which if you get out with decent players usually only takes about 1-1.5 hours tops) you'll be in legendary gear in no time. If you don't have time to get the gear, then you don't have time to get it. If they make it any easier what was once 50-80 hours of gaming before you've done everything becomes significantly less.

          Heres why people are bored: -game is very repetitive -the story is atrocious -lack of overall content I sound negative, but I like the game. The problem is that there is a lack of content, and the world itself isn't engaging. The pvp could do with a new game mode or two (CTF or something). The only thing that had dynamic gameplay initially was the raid. I think the thing I dislike most about the game is the patrol objectives.

            Bored because there is almost no content, and what little content they put out is repetitive and lacks imagination. (Also it doesn't matter if its a ten year program. Any initial release should still contain more content, and build a better foundation with their story.) Annoyed because the story was gutted and makes no sense. Annoyed because all of their events are the same content we already have with a new label slapped on it. Shaking my head at the decision to leave out text chat and party finder systems.

            • Allow me to explain a few things to you, kay? Ready, set.... I beat this game's "Story" in 3 days. I was left confused and wondering what the hell, yet I was told, this is where the real Destiny begins.... Kay... So now I'm leveling for the next few days, killing random shit, bored already, replaying the same boring missions that have no story content that is coherent enough to matter, yada yada, I spend the next week or so, just farming and playing crap missions with friends.... Now, playing with friends is fun, I get to ignore how boring and bland everything else in this game truly is, it's great. Crucible is fun, I like killing things, sure, but I start to realize... This game was over when I beat the story, and the only thing I have to look forward to is that raid, which has no story either... and I'll just have to farm it for gear to get level 30.... Now... I'm just uninterested in Destiny, not just this Destiny, but the whole franchise, I am not invested in the story, I barely care about my guardian now, the game has no personality, there's just... nothing. I sign on, I play a match with a friend, I log off. It's getting to the point that I honestly just sigh when I log on, because all I can think about is what this game could have been, if it wasn't so god damned bland. It looks beautiful, it's mechanics and gameplay is amazing, the multiplayer is great, but there's just no real core structure or purpose to anything that I'm -blam!-ing doing. I'm not bored because I've played for so long, I was honestly bored the moment I beat the damned main story and was stuck doing nothing but grind, when I realized that was the end of Destiny's story, I immediately felt uninterested in the actual game as a whole, the only thing that kept me going, was it's multiplayer. A game like this should not require multiplayer to make up for lack of content, not to this degree...

              • my boredom is due to a severe lack of content. By the time I hit the 24hrs logged mark I'd played through the "story" and was L.27. Everything since has just been sheer repetition with no satisfaction. I've since hit L.29 & have acquired 8 exotics & 20+ legendaries. Most of which have been dismantled or are just sitting on the backburner. No satisfaction has come from the acquisition of any of it, or, the completion of anything in-game.

                  • My only boredom is coming from how long it takes to earn enough points or marks or rep or whatever to actually get the good gear from the vendors. I don't know how it is for these kids who can play all day and don't have full time jobs but I feel like I've put more time into the strike playlist than the entire campaigns length and I still haven't unlocked anything but one ugly emblem from the vanguard.

                    • Lack of creative ideas we need some fresh gameplay and content. Also there is no private matches and no ranking system for the crucible... Just like Halo 1-50 would be awesome I mean Bungie did make this game...

                      • Why does a standard melee attack have a farther range and higher damage than a shotgun? Before you get close enough to do real shotgun damage yer getting downed by a melee attack. Oh wait, no theater mode in the game. We wouldn't want the world to see that amongst the other issues. Whatever. If ya can't balance the game right, expect players to exploit it because you can't balance it. There's community willing to work for free who have degrees in game development for this game, but Bungie is nowhere to be found when it comes to a literal clear answer. SMH

                        • I'm bored because I do not feel this game delivered, fully, everything it was supposed/advertised to do. I played the beta so I was done playing this game on Friday of release week. :(

                          • I have almost 120 hours logged, and I'm not bored. I'll give props to the group I run with. Wouldn't be as enthralling without them, all met through Destiny. Best advice I can give is invite rands in strikes to your party and see who sticks.

                            • The last good games I played: Ultima IV - Quest for the Avatar (Atari 130XE), Dungeon Master I (Atari ST), Dawn of War I+II (PC) Bungie/Activision could learn from them.

                              • Did we ever deal with or fight the darkness that seemed to be consuming the solar system from that one cinematic? Or did that get resolved when we beat those three wimpy machine guys in the heart area?

                                  • I'm bored cause the maps are just to small. Nothing to explore & the patrol missions are to repetitive. Need to vary some of them or at least add some challenging ones.

                                      • I think Bungie underestimated how much time people would put into the game. Did they think we would play 1 hour/day max? When a new game with this much hype comes out people are going to put a lot of time into it at launch. I didn't really feel like I was blowing through the game when I first started, but I was done with the story in 8 hours, which took up most of my first 2 days of playing. After that I was excited to try some of the other stuff. I did the Beta so I knew some of the strikes and patrol would be the same as what I saw in the campaign, but I didn't realize that everything I saw in my first 8 hours was all I would see, just with different labels on them. Patrol actually closed off some areas, like the end area in some of the strikes, instead of allowing me to explore any new areas. All 5 strikes felt like I was just in a combined patrol/story mode that added nothing of importance to the story, lore, or world. Time spent in the game is a little deceiving as most of it is spent repeating things or visiting places you saw in the first 8-10 hours. There are a lot of people that have dumped a lot of time into this game, myself included, but really we've just been doing a very small number of activities over and over again. I'm not sure what Bungie's expectations from players was when it came to the time we would invest. You would think they would want us dumping hours each day into the game. If that was the expectation, it should be no surprise that we are now bored given the limited content they provided us.

                                          • The problem is people have played 60+ hrs trying to get to content they that you need to play for 60+ hrs to get to. Not having fun doing so because it's not rewarding. And then when you get there you realize it's the same thing that you've been doing the entire time. And the entire experience is just a repeat of the same content. That's the issue. The end game and the story and the mid game are all the same content. Same levels. Same enemies. Same bosses. And they all spawn in the same places. So basically, let's say you are level 24 and you got there by running 30 strikes to get all level 20 blue gear. You are now required to get legendary gear. So you need marks. So you run the exact same strikes another 60 times to get the marks. Now you have your legendary gear. And are level 26. Good job. Now you need about 15 more legendary items to disenchant into shards to upgrade your gear in order to level to 28 or 29. Time to run the same strikes again till you get the gear. And the issue is nothing ever is different. The enemies spawn in the same spots. And you don't even have to fight anything but the bosses. Since there isn't any reward for killing any thing it's basically a race to the boss skipping everything in between and if you fall behind you are left behind. Kill the bullet sponge boss who is not a challenge at all. Repeat till you get your marks. Get 100 of them for the week? No problem, just do your patrol once a day. And then go farm low level enemies till you die of boredom. That's the end game.

                                              I'm bored because I keep hitting the Strike Vanguard 100 mark cap. The bounties are the same and frankly these maps are boring as snot. A single long road to a big map that basically has two big buildings with generic interiors and some enemies. Then another long road so the Sparrow has a purpose. Rinse and repeat. This game suffers way too much Fable-itis when it comes to being railed in by fences.

                                              • A 8 year old with a crayon could have wrote a better more complete story and dialogue. And yea I heard the fanboys talk of the ten year plan but that's no excuse for what's been givin to us at launch. Doing the weekly , nightly, and raid with my buddies is the only thing I still enjoy in destiny. Besides that its the same thing over and over and if having to search for spinmetal and other materials is Bungies idea of wanting us to explore they failed here to. After playing halo 1 through 3 I'm so disappointed in the mission design and bad story.

                                                  • Finish the game, then maybe you'll understand. When you have finally completed the story, try and explain to me what the hell you are, how you got there, what the traveler is (beyond the basic common understanding), why the traveler chose earth, how long you were dead, etc. Also explain to me when you learned about each planet and why the worlds were taken over and why the races are battling against eachother and earth. Explain why the final story mission was so god damn piss easy and why you had to fight essentially 3 gatelords, a boss you ready fought. I could go on and on, but the point here is the story was done half ass, along with many other things.
