Yeah, my plan is to kit up the best gear from V-rep for my play style (bubble knight, scout, sniper, rocket) and then outsource to... whatever else I need. Pity the gloves and boots I can buy are so lackluster. The PvP sniper is (unfortunately) the best, so I tough it out with my blue rifle. It's a living.
The faction marks give patrol rep to them too, right? So I could just up them by PvE? Some nice boots from FWC, omae.

I just need a good scout rifle and the best (both in looks and abilities) seem to be pvp weapons. If I could get crucible marks by wearing my dead orbit cloak and handing in vanguard bounties, then things would go alot quicker. As it sits, unless I find one in an engram, it's going to take me a while to get one I like.

The vanguard scout rifle is very good, if you can get the right mods. I was given one. I think that the traits on the vendor purples change from time to time, so watch them.

It's bizarre, I have found three different variants of the Scout. My friend and I both got the Proxima Centaurii II, and they both have different unique traits, and are completely unrelated to the one in the V-shop. So the hard data is the same, but mine sometimes gives ammo back and his has explosive ammo (I think).

Mmmmm... Explosive am it always handy. Aim for the weak-point and watch for those secondary numbers to pop up. Was just something I noticed the other day. Explosive round headshot on a captain, there was a smaller white number nextvto the criteria in yellow. Tried again on other enemies, only one I've not seen one on is a Minotaur.

That is Shield damage. Your extra little "bang" may have hit first, knocked out the shield, and let the main bullet break for a headshot (yellow).

Pretty sure it wasn't, will test again on unshielded enemies. But, if I'm right, then it's a nice little mechanism.
