Bungie is already well established on XB thanks to Halo. They have no reason to promote it on the XB halo fans will already line up to buy it. PS fans aren't so informed about bungie so if you already have one console pretty much on board where would you spend your time and effort? On the other console. It's a rather simple business move.

Editado por Fawkzi: 9/18/2014 1:40:16 PMBEfore i start i must say one thing: I am not saying one console is better than the other, what you chose to play is your busness, both are good consoles. now with that said.. Sony using Destiny as a selling point would not get them more sales regardless and the reason for that is..people were sold on the PS4 already due to micosoft basiclaly cockslapping themselves with their innitial announcement of the Xbone's features (all that DRM, always online, kinect required, media center BS) a lot of people (including myself) heard that, told MS to go and -blam!- themselves and then pre-ordered a PS4 (this is also the reason why the PS4 broke records, not because it is a better console, but because M$ -blam!-ed up) so a lot of people were already sold on the PS4, Destiny is just an added bonus to it.

Editado por AGN Dark Knight: 9/6/2014 10:21:20 PMBecause of business and money. Sony has faith in Bungie after seeing them succeed with the Halo series and they want a piece of the action because they know anything with the name Bungie on it is going to sell like hotcakes.
-
Because they saw an opportunity to make sales and took it. Destiny is one of, if not the, biggest console launch this year and it only gets released once. After forking up the cash for exclusivity rights it's no wonder they're milking it for everything they can. Whenever you go to a CoD press conference all they ever talk about is how the CoD experience can only be found on the Xbox 1, or something to that effect.

Simply because Destiny will be the biggest new IP in nearly a decade.

3 RespuestasEditado por Derezzed: 9/6/2014 1:07:36 AMThe Xbox's strongest exclusive IP is Halo, a sci-fi themed first person shooter. When Bungie decided to work on a new IP, a new sci-fi FPS, Sony saw an opportunity to fill a gap their had been unable to fill with their own first party studios. Xbox might have had an opportunity to secure the same deal but heavily promoting a game similar to Halo might have damaged their own IP. This is kind of why Xbox went after Tomb Raider as Xbox don't have an answer to the Uncharted franchise. Despite all of the pro-Sony marketing (and the fact the deal with ActiVision apparently prohibits Xbox from promoting it) the Xbox One version is still keeping pace with the PS4. Amazon have the PS4 version at #19 and the Xbox One at #21 in their best sellers of 2014. VG Chartz has the PS4 at 874,856 and the Xbox One at 710,041in the USA.

The PS4 has already sold well.

Editado por uV ChewMonsta: 9/6/2014 8:05:01 PMAny online game works better on xbox one. Anyone who argues with this, are just ignorant to what dedicated servers do for competitive multiplayer. Sony knows this, so they say things like "destiny is better on playstation" without going in depth on just why that is. The timed exclusives and advertising rights aren't worth the $500,000,000 that Sony paid activision and bungie. Xbox one will make more profit this holiday season with it's three system bundles and it's Master mother $&@!? Chief Collection!!
-
Because they think it will sell consoles.
-
8 RespuestasSony doesn't have any good exclusives coming to this far. They need destiny
-
Because Microsoft used Halo to sell the XBrick. It's all cyclical....
-
11 RespuestasEditado por Il Marco II: 9/6/2014 7:42:08 PMBecause PS don't have nothing more, however, Xbox have Destiny and Halo MCC.
-
I find timed exclusives anti consumer no matter which side does it. At this day the only exclusives that make sense are first party developers. It's a shame Activision is selling a cut down product just for free advertising and getting paid off.

1 RespuestaEditado por LeonShepard: 9/6/2014 7:07:43 PMbecause Sony has nothing this end of the year whereas Xbox does in the name of Halo Collection and Sunset Overdrive. MS are also money hatting CoD this yer too with the exclusive console bundle, DLC early etc etc in the same way Sony are to Destiny
-
because why not
-
Because they can /question
-
Because they have exclusive rights to the most popular game since MW2. Pretty good selling point.
-
Why wouldn't they? Microsoft championed Halo.
-
Xbox is doing the same thing in a way to sell their console.
-
Cause they don't have much else?
-
3 RespuestasProbably because the PS4 exclusive line up for the 2014 Holiday season is non existent with the delay of The Order. Xbox One is not much better but they have one AAA title Sunset Overdrive. Indi games and remakes (The Master Chief Collection)do not count in my opinion and Indi games do not sell consoles to the majority of consumers so Sony needs a big game that is marketed towards PlayStation similarly to what Xbox does with Call of Duty.
-
Because they can and will. They have exclusives for destiny (timed or not) and they will use that as marketing just like. Microsoft can use evolve and dragon age as marketing with their exclusives.
-
Because they have nothing else to sell consoles with.
-
Why not?

1 RespuestaEditado por KRIPTICON: 9/6/2014 12:12:24 PMBecause retail sales figures clearly show that Sony has needed Destiny to sell consoles. In other news, a 10 year old boy used alchemy to bond his younger brother's soul to a set of ancient steel armor.
