Just curious here, looking back on what Bungie has done, would it be fair to crown them the greatest of all time in terms of modern video game creation? I mean, look at what they have accomplished. Halo isn't only one of the greatest shooters of all time, but it's an entire culture that they created. People create books, action figures, short films, machinimas, movies, etc. all based around Halo. Honestly it's very similar to what Star Wars accomplished in the film industry. And now to see what they have done so far with Destiny? The Beta was insane and has so many crazy supporters, and the game is poised to KILL in sales. What is your opinions on this? Do you think Bungie is the GOAT?

As they said at pax, Bungie has motto: We are not the best. I love bungie and i think they are amazing but there are a lot of game companies that make great videogames. If destiny does last 10 years back to back with no wait time in between and stays relevant and keeps me away from other games because it is just sooo damn good, which i think it will because i am that hopeful, then i will without a doubt say that Bungie is the best video game developer in the history of the universe. But there was a time when i would have argued that Square was the best company and we see how they are doing now, makes me sad.

All time? No, there are plenty of other incredible studios.

Nope, should go to ID

Oh yeah I enjoyed the Beta for mostly pve, most of the 2 million that played Beta only happened because the closed beta was opened to the public on all four systems. After hearing feedback from a lot of gamers I am not sure it will be Goty.

The GOAT

I can't argue against the fact that Halo shaped many things of the current FPS genre, and I do think Destiny is the game I've been most hyped about ever... But GOAT? I think that's a thing you can say only maybe decades after the fact. And for game creation as a whole? Why not just Shooter-category, where their legacy is the most prominent? I know the culture around Halo is crazy, pretty much unique in the gaming industry, but... We're giving this to the creators, not the product. But if they can strike again with the same force... I could say they're pretty much GOAT in that case. If the world of Destiny expands as much or maybe even MORE so than Halo's, we can say that lightning indeed has struck in the same place twice, and will probably hit more, if they allow it.

I would wait until Destiny releases and then make that call. They're definitely up there for me, though.

2 RespuestasI can't argue against it. Some folks would cite Mario and Zelda as bigger deals...but I've never been one of them...
