Can you be one of the first to put hold on it? Sorry for all the questions hahahhah I've always been curious

Don't worry man lol I like telling people about GameStop even though majority of people bash on it. It's a great company especially if you have a passion for sales and gaming. But yes, certain stuff we can put a hold on but the customer [u]always[/u] comes first. For example: Let's say we have 3 Turtle Beaches left and I want one. I'll take one off of the shelf and I'll put it under the register with a sticky note saying "hold for Sean" (my name lol). Later on in the day, we have customers come in and the 2 other headsets are gone. We have just that one left that I put on hold..but some guy comes in asking for the headset and I have to sell it to him no matter what. We can't 'hide' items from customers because, like I said, they always come first.

Thanks! Okay that's fair. Yeah I hear a lot of bad stuff about gamestop and I think it depends who's there and who's working hahaha I've been to some where it was just completely dicks! And smart asses! But then I went back to the same one and different workers and a whole different atmosphere! One kept asking me to stay cause they wanted to continue the convo on game related subjects while they where helping others! Hahahahaha last question! Is it true that your constantly on your toes that you have to sale a specific amount that has been given to you by the managers Or else you get fired?

Haha yeah trust me, I've been to some GameStops where they constantly give false information. I went into this one GS that's in the mall and the guy tells me [quote]oh yeah there's gonna be a Master Chief Collection console coming out with 2TB hard drive![/quote] I know my halo, and I know that there is a MC Collection console..that was only shown at San Diego Comic Con and that it was up for a lucky person to win. Some constantly lie just so they can have people go to their stores but I think it's all about personal connection and honesty. And about the sales thing..that is kinda true and false. We have sales expectations we have to meet or at least try to. When you have a job, you always want to give it your 100% and some managers notice that. Some people are lazy with their job and don't want to do anything and managers also notice that. If you slack, you get replaced..just like any other job. Store managers only hire people if they have that initiative and if they don't, they can always find someone better.

Hahahaha I just laughed hard! Yeah my gf wanted to get me a white ps vita as a surprise and when sh went to go look for it the guy said they only have "charged?" Versions of it. My gf not I wouldn't of know what he's talking about and when she asked what that is he said it's "charged".... Then she just proceeded to ask the next guy and just said it's used after mins of asking. I told her he just wanted to make a dirty sale by not telling you a complete fact. I stopped going to one gamestop cause they lied to me saying I put a pre order at another county. Went to that one which is 30 min away got there. They where nice enough to sell me one of their pre orders and told me to go back where they told me this because they saw that I did have an order with the first gamestop and just gave me the run around. Handed me the receipt and told me slap them with this in the face and tell them James( the employees name) said -blam!- you! Went to the first one and they bothered to feed me this bs that it was under xbox...... I don't have an xbox tho..... But you seem legit and people like you are the places I enjoy spending my money at hahahaha

That's harsh man. It's always one bad sale that can reflect a persons view on the whole store..that's why it's good to be honest! Never have I heard of "charged" lol. Only used and brand new.. but yeah he probably did try to sell you some bs, not the vita lmao. I always run into customers who try to scam us with gift receipt fraud or tell us their game isn't working or some other stuff..but it's funny because there's a million and one ways I have been trained to be a certified smart ass to people in smart ways lol. Some guy came in one time and had a xbox 360 controller and the play and charge kit, but with 2 different gift receipts. The controller receipt was from Pennsylvania and the charge kit from upstate New York..sounds shady right? He goes oh my brother bought these where he lives and I'm returning it for him cause they don't work so I want my money back. So I looked at him and go So does half of your brother live in PA and the other half in NY? He goes "oh no I live in NY and he lives in PA and I'm returning these.." So what are you doing in Jersey? And I told him I can't do anything with gift receipts because they don't have any bar codes on them and he gets all mad, my manager comes in gives him gamestops customer support number with our store and to call and see if they can do anything, and if they can, come back. [spoiler]the guy never came back lol[/spoiler]

Hahahahah that's effen crazy!!!! Yeah working in sales you'll meet a lot of scum bags that make you give up on the human race hahahaha I've received fake bills and been told that they got it from the bank to people almost wanting to punch me for charging them the right price on beers then telling me they got it cheaper (I live in Cali) in Nevada....... Really Nevada ... I would understand another county [spoiler]nah I do t think so my e same block[/spoiler] but another country !?? People get disparate.

It's sad that some people would do anything to steal or gain money in such a cheap and disgusting way. But I guess that's America for you lol but you seem like a really cool person and if I had a PlayStation, I would've definitely had you on my fire team! I plan on getting a PS4 sometime in the future..just don't know when yet lol maybe till the next uncharted game because they are amazing.

Yet hahaha not till 9/9 I'll be walking out with too and the most alert senses ever from potential muggers hahahaha And thanks dude I have a ps3 you can add me on that! I'm just killing time playing borderlands 2 till I get my hands on that new console !

I like your work ethic. I was in retail off and on over the last 25 years and always felt that honesty was the best policy. It just makes sense if you want long term client relationships. Most of my friends started as customers at our store (including the best man at my wedding)! You guys seem to really enjoy your jobs and that's about the most important job perk you can have. Don't let the jerk customers ruin it for you, just focus on having fun at work with your customers and the sales will take care of themselves.

Thanks man! Sales not might be labor work but it sure is a lot of mental work. You let one bad thing ruin your mood and it'll effect how you and will show in both sells and your customer relations!
