It is account bound for the system type you activated it on. That way if you bought another PS3 after yours broke you dont have to buy DLC again.

The codes they give you are bound to last or next gen your account is not! So give everyone the ps3 and the ps4 codes and have them bound to that person's account so no one else can use them.

And you missed the point about the coding issue in doing that You activate it on a PS3 the game coding is different on the PS4. Again on the DLC code sheet if it does not say it is for one or the other system you can pick the one you want to use it on, the buy another DLC for the other system. If the game and DLC were all compatible then we all would be on one set of servers able to play with no borders but the Graphics sub-coding, companies, ....etc prevent this from happening.

It's obvious that they can make both codes because they have them so all I'm saying is if someone purchases the ps3 version they should get the ps4 code as well bound to their account. Bungie said that our characters and stuff would transfer from ps3 to ps4, fine if I have to buy the game again at a discounted price whatever .you don't have to do that for Final Fantasy. At least don't rip us off with the downloadable content.

Lets say you have a PS1 game you bought long ago and loved to play. PS3 announces that you can now play that game via the same disk our buy the NEW game disk made for the PS3. You choose to use the PS1 disk. The game would still render on your screen as an 8 to 16 bit game on a 32bit PS3. And game play is lagging . You then complain that the game looks and plays like crap. You buy the PS3 Version. The Game looks better and plays better because it is programed (coded) for that game system. You bought the game (DLC) for the PS1 it was playable on the PS3 but you did not enjoy it until you bought the PS3 version of the same game. For this reason and to regulate the downloads they make the DLC codes one use only and non Transferable to a Next Gen console or backwards compatible. In the future when we can all play on the same servers this might change but not during the 10 years Destiny will run.

Bungie said the characters and their stuff would transfer from 360 and ps3 to the next gen so they lied to a lot of people it's not about coding its about them lying to get people to buy their products. Final Fantasy from ps3 to ps4 is discounted and anything that you've bought on the game transfers over. If they say your character will transfer over then that means your progress and that includes DLC content. I get that they're two separate things and you can't compare this to back when the ps1 was around because the whole gaming industry is changed there wasn't even downloadable content when ps1 was around. If they didn't confuse people by telling them everything would transfer then people who couldn't afford a ps4 wouldn't have bought it on the ps3 and that would have meant a loss in sales to them so they figured they just leave a little bit out of their statement. Little white lies that rips people off for 65.00.

Correct Your toon and items transfer but that is because they are stored on THEIR servers and linked to your PSN, and Live accounts. The DLC will be tied to your CONSOLE via your PSN and Live accounts. This is the big difference. (that is why I used the PS1 to PS3 difference) Also in the Interviews they Never said the DLC will transfer. They did say your Toon and EVERY ITEM IN YOUR VAULT will transfer. They said it different ways but never the DLC.
