Does 343i understand how guns work?
Just watched Halo 2:A gameplay and it looks like the shotgun is ejecting shells out of the feeding port. Can someone confirm this because I'd like to know if I'm crazy or not?

It appears that the M90 CAWS features the more common ejection port, whereas the M45 TS utilizes a hybrid feeding/ejection port. Now, considering the more recent Halo games have featured the M45, unfortunately, it appears the M90 Mk. II was built using coding found on the M45. As a result, the M90 Mk. II is using a hybrid port. Now, some speculation. The M45 and M45E both feature a separate ejection port. The M45E utilizes this, but the M45 does not. The M45D does not have a separate ejection port and must use the hybrid port. So, it could actually be possible that you can select which port you want the shells to be ejected out of. Regardless it's messy weapon design that started with the M90A. (For some reason whenever you pump the gun, the feeding port flies open, but the shell flies out the side.)

It's what happens when you have art majors designing stuff. You've just got to accept that nothing in the UNSc is ever going to be practical and/or functional.
