Marty wins his second victory against bungie.
Two key points;
- "an arbitrator says through a preliminary injunction that Bungie made a mistake"
- "bungie's lawyers were none too pleased"
Brings a smile to your dial.

1 RespuestaOkay, why do you wish bungie il? We don't know why he was let go of what if he was in the wrong and you're over here being a dick?
-
1 RespuestaAh, karma.

It feels like the family is fighting- I hate it when the family fights. It actually breaks my heart to see that happen, especially among the ancients.

You mean the arbiter

33 RespuestasMarty is a scum bag! FYI he didn't sue Bungie, he sued Harold Ryan CEO of Bungie. I bet Marty was offered a package to leave which is pretty standard. But instead he opted to sue the CEO of 1 of the largest game developers around and managed a whopping $76,770 plus interest, attorney fees as well as some shares. Sounds like Bungie is winning to me! So he likely got less money by suing and now has little to no chance of finding work in the industry after dragging his former employer into court and through the mud. Marty is scum and he is gone! Good for Bungie!

3 RespuestasNone of us really know what's going on and know the real truth. I understand that people want to back and support Bungie or Marty but whatever you choose to believe is going on is your opinion. There's too much judgement on either side and it's tearing the people who are stuck in the middle apart. Until the real truth is out you guys need to calm down and stop pointing fingers at each other.

1 RespuestaI cant be the only one who kept reading that as arbiter..

7 RespuestasPeople are still on about this!? It's a non-issue. Seriously. All of you who think you're somehow "supporting" O'Donnell, are the biggest bunch of idiots... 1) You know nothing about what happened when he got canned like a bitch. 2) Non of you know what's going on in those arbitration meetings. Marty could've been acting like some spoiled 4 year old, and that's what got him shitcanned. He could have been asking for a million dollars. He could've porked one of the Board Members daughters. Point is, you don't know shit. You're blindly defending a guy who could've been the world's biggest douche-bag. Bungie is not going to hire him back, so what does it matter? Besides, if all of you think Bungie is so evil for firing O'Donnell, why the hell are you still here? If you're really that butt-hurt, why not avaoid Bungie and their sites and products like the plague? Because you're all hypocrites, that's why.

1 RespuestaMarty made great music...bungie makes great games...no one knows why Marty was fired...and without that knowledge so many of you are saying screw bungie and automatically side with Marty? Who cares what happened, it doesn't affect you, maybe he deserved to be fired. Maybe he was stealing all the office pens? Millions worth even. It doesn't matter, yes he contributed to the success of halo, but he isn't an irreplaceable factor in the success. Bungie knew what they wanted for the overall theme and if you don't think they would have found another composer to give them just that, you are nuts. Honestly though, if you just heard that music in your everyday life you wouldn't give a shit, it only matters to you because it's set again the themes of the game and your gaming experience. Music has the power to tie sounds to emotional experiences in your mind, I think this is why many of you are confusing your love of the games with your love of the music. The music matters because of how it makes you feel, not just because of how good it is. Without bungie Marty is just another talented composer out there looking for work, without Marty bungie is still an amazing game company giving millions of people games no one else had been able to. Also, Marty was paid for his music, the company doesn't have to keep him around, he was paid to do a job and the job has been completed. For future games they will find someone to emulate his work and that is how life is an artist of any sort. Once you sell your skills or work, the product does not belong to you anymore. The games will continue to move forward with powerful music, Marty will get paid and continue to work, probably on things that don't matter nearly as much as people.

2 RespuestasI can't have an opinion on this unless I can figure why Marty was fired.

9 RespuestasThat's fine. Legal matters aside, this situation was always going to be ruled against Bungie. Employers lose cases like this all the time and in a world filled with lawsuits like this not just in the United States, Bungie has nothing to be ashamed about. It's all about maintaining the financial capitol as best as they can which is why vacation time and other expenses almost always get done, but it takes time to ensure revenue has come in first. Marty will get his shares back, probably become someone's boss due to board meeting politics, and Bungie will have to play that game as best they can. As for Marty, he got a small payout compared to the rest, but the concern I have is a pretty big fear about stock manipulation. This sort of manipulation used to influence decisions and the moment a decision comes down that Marty influenced to hurt the end product out of some sick and twisted desire to cause harm to Bungie is when he won't have to answer to Bungie anymore... he'll be answering to the fans who have been known to do more drastic things then pulling an employee's stock... That is a very big fear with me. Watching someone influence decisions no one agrees on and then the negative ramifications which come after that. It can kill a company over time if done right...

8 Respuestas>"we don't know what actually happened. Marty could've been acting like an ass." I don't know about you guys, but Marty seems like a pretty straight-shooter to me. I don't see him acting like an ass or some entitled child. More likely, it has something to do with the fact that he wasn't conforming to the new standard at ActiBungie of ridiculous corporate shenanigans and cash-ins. He was telling people at E3 2013 that the final game wouldn't look like that.

10 RespuestasMarty was the most talented person at bungie.

I love how people assume Bungie's the bad guy in a situation you know absolutely -blam!- all about. Only Marty and Bungie know why he got fired, and apparently neither wants to tell you.

Dont give 2 shits. Its all company crap that happens all the time and is unimportant to the consumer or Destiny
