Dark Souls director on difficulty.

If there is one thing that Dark Souls is known as, it’s difficult, but the creator of that game wasn’t necessarily- or perhaps in the future won’t be- aiming for that. In an interview with Metro, he was quoted as saying he wants his games to be “satisfying rather than difficult”, and that he is considering adding an “Easy” mode to accomplish this. Here are some words from him: [quote]“I suppose gamers do not particularly prefer easy games. What they want is interesting and worthwhile games to play, so I think it is natural that hindrance or stress that does not attribute to such interesting and worthwhile elements will be removed in the end. If the number of easy games is increasing nowadays, I guess it is because difficulty is not related to interesting and worthwhile game elements in many games among players.” – Hidetaka Miyazaki[/quote] Thoughts on this? It seems Dark Souls 2 was just hard for the sake of being hard. I hope Bloodborne balances the 2.
