Trades will drastically lesson the lifespan of Destiny... why do any missions to earn gear when you just plop in a few bucks and become a credit card hero...

I don't think we really have to worry about this. Bungie has been really pushing the idea that you have to earn everything. It may open up conversation when you see a guy with sweet armor and you ask him where he got it. And he tells you about this amazing quest. How lame would it be if he just said I bought it off psn. From what the devs have been saying it looks like we really shouldn't have to worry about wallet warriors. :)

I agree, why ruin the fun of earning better stuff by having it be bought? It'd also throw the PvP into unbalanced matches.

I believe the very nature of this game, Earning legendary loot by completing challenges or beating impossible odds, makes microtransactions obsolete. Bungie has stated time and again that they want people to see you out in their world and wonder where you got these items. They've talked about the idea that with each piece of epic gear there is an epic story that goes with it. Imagine them spitting in the face of their own ideas and just selling gear. "Hey where did you get that awesome rocket launcher?" "Oh this little beauty? I used my parents credit card"... They might sell some cosmetic stuff like shaders but anything that is truly substantial will have to be earned.

if that happens im out. that's why I got rid of last of us. everybody buying perks and desert eagles, naughty dog f@cked that game up with micro transactions.
