So, people don't understand what Bungie wants to do with the subclasses. To those who think that one sub class is 100% better because you get it later, are wrong. From what I can tell Bungie doesn't want player to chose a certain subclass because it is "better," they want you to pick a subclass that suits you.
In all the classes the sub classes are different and promote different play styles. Hunter has a long range and a close quarter, Warlock had a damage and a buff, and Titan has a tank and a support. They never wanted one subclass to be better than another.
You may know that people are speculating that there will be a third subclass per class. This is relevant by the empty third slot in your sub class menu. I personally think there will be a third, but I am not sure if we will get it at launch or for DLC. Now I have heard things about what people think the third subclass will be, and people are coming up with outrageous ideas that would ruin the balance.
I read another forum on this and what they think that the third class could be and I agree with what they said. They said it is based of the elements. In example Hunter has a solar and an arc sub class so the third will most likely be void. Following this warlock would get arc, and titan would get solar. But what could the ability be?
I think the hunters will either be some type of trap or familiar, or the subclass will be a support class. These speculations are based of what the Hunter already has, and thinking of something that fits.
The titans would possible get some type of either rampage or ranged attack but my money is on the rampage.
And warlock either a major support or an AOE attack.
Again these are all my opinions, and speculations, plus we have seen maybe half of the game.
Mirrinto out.

Editado por Phil 421: 8/16/2014 5:40:10 PMSubclasses will have a direct effect on Nightfall missions especially the Weekly Nightfalls because they may contain certain restrictions such as Arc damage reduced by half (just an example all they said was that damaged may be reduced for certain (elements?) not sure what they call them) meaning any Arc weapons or Subclass moves will have reduced damage and considering that the Weekly Night fall is supposed to throw the hardest enemies at you at the highest lvls even a 10-20% reduction could be huge. This is for people actually still unclear on subclasses and why it is not smart to just concentrate on one because you prefer it. Use the subclasses to your advantage because I'm sure certain enemies will be more vulnerable to Void, Arc, or Solar.

my theory is that DeeJ has a secret identity. I am convinced that he is HEROBRINE!!! http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/67430264/0/0

3 RespuestasIf you take the word "theories" out of your title and just leave it at misconceptions and this thread would still only be slightly amusing...

3 RespuestasMaybe they wanted some subclasses to be better in some situations. I believe there was mention of certain enemies being weak or resistent to some elements. Sure, you can switch to a different element weapon, but you can also switch subclasses to use the full force of your abilities against particular enemies. The Defender and Sunsinger also seem more party oriented and may be preferred in certain strikes or raids. Of course, the subclasses are all powerful and fun to play as, depending on your playstyle. So we can't say any one is better than the other in the long run.

12 Respuestas"Destiny allows you to freely swap your ability choices, but according to Green there comes a point when you can lock them in. This gives your Guardian benefits, such as a stat boost. At this point you get a copy of the same focus, but that copy levels up much faster, thus allowing experimentation." This is what I believe 3rd subclass spot is for

there is no 3rd subclass. The 3rd slot if for a locked in subclass and then you can start leveling a second version of that subclass. Come on guys

Can't wait to find out :D

1 RespuestaIf we follow suit with themes to the T the hunter's void class would be support in some way. The warlocks arc would be some sort of melee cqc build. And the titan's solar would be some sort of ranged ability. I doubt of a third class on launch. But i could see maybe in a future expansion.

8 RespuestasEditado por Kankunation: 8/16/2014 5:37:01 AM1. i don't think many have chosen a subclass based on it being unlocked later. There are clear skill differences between the two and they would cater to different playstyles. That being said, there is so much of the second subclasses we have yet to experience ourselves, so it makes sense to be eager to play them. They also just so happen to be pretty powerful and/or useful when compared to some of the first subclasses ( such as bladedancer doing almost everything better than gunslinger, which has very few useful things) 2. It was confirmed long ago that we would get a copy of a subclass to mess with if we locked one. This spot most likely serves to hold the copy. Cant be certain on this, but i doubt we would see a 3rd subclass in the game at launch. Especially since we don't even unlock the 2nd one until 3/4 through to max level (not counting Light bonuses). 3. If they are put in, the 3rd subclasses would most definitely give each class the last form of light. It only makes sense to. 4. I doubt the hunter would get any sort of familiar, since their other abilities are suited for modifying their current equipment. Golden gun fills their hand-cannon with solar light, and bladedancer fills their knives with arclight. The last one might do something like cover their cloaks or armor in void light, allowing them to warp space around them and score criticals with each hit for the duration. It would most likely revolve around modifying their equipment, just like their other abilities. Similarly, Titans channel the light to their fists and disperse it, either in a powerful blast on the ground or a field of protective light. Warlocks fill themselves with light and channel massive amounts to their whole body, as with voidwalkers summoning huge masses of light from within them to hurl forwards, and sunsingers covering themselves with solar light to boost themselves greatly. There's a sort of pattern to their methods of super usage that they seem to follow. 5. kind of odd to call a misconception thread, considering a large portion of it is your own thoughts. Sorry, had to point it out.

1 Respuestathey probably want to do the concept of final fantasy or wow for example where you need different classes to achieve victory only here they are not so important but when we gonna get to raids or hard strikes we will probably mix up our tactics with different subclasses because you can choose them back and forth i believe

1 Respuestagood read man. i like your views and agree about the classes being equal but different, just because one is unlocked at level 15 doesnt make it superior. im pretty sure im going to be running gunslinger with the hunter.
