Xbox losing heavily in console war?
This was back in April... Microsoft was losing in the console war with 5 million units sold to RETAILERS compared to 7 million units sold to CUSTOMERS for PS4. Since then Microsoft has been pretty silent, rarely posting monthly sales figures and never giving a cumulative number.

Now, the PS4 has sold 10 million units and there is nothing to hear from the Xbox, and the PS4 has beaten the Xbox in terms of sales figures for the 7th month in a row.
It seems like the Xbox is losing the console war, and quite severely too. By the way, I don't really support either side (I am part of the PC master race, bow to me, peasants), but it is just interesting to see how the war is unfolding and how the PS4 is giving the Xbox a good beating despite having fewer AAA exclusives. The fact that Microsoft picked up Halo, Gears of War, Titanfall, and now Tomb Raider doesn't seem to help their sales figures much as they lose month after month to the PS4.

19 RespuestasI'm also going to point out how lucky you silly Xbox player are to even have Destiny, bungie wasn't even going to offer the game to Microsoft after what they did with halo until Microsoft offered bungie an ungodly amount of money for the rights... also wtf Xbox Diablo 3 and Destiny are the first Xbox One games to be in 1080p every game that has been on PS4 no matter how awful, has been in 1080p it's the freaking standard these days (yes I know PC has almost 4 times the resolution with proper monitor/graphics card) but as far as the rest of AV technology goes it's the standard

I don't blame the system, it's a fair enough machine to compete with the PS4, but the company behind it.... All it takes to ruin years of loyalty is just one E3.

No Wii U is. Every now and then a game comes out that perks up its sales. It is on life support. When the 3DS finishes running its course, it eventually will, only Pokemon players will still use it, but well people will have a 3DS and support will wane. It will be dropped eventually no matter how far into the future. Nothing lasts forever. It could be several years from now but it will happen at some point. The Wii U is on life support, and eventually if they don't get more games it will die. It just will. Eventually, it will. Replacing it with another generation is only gonna work if they bring third part games otherwise Nintendo are gonna start bleeding money. They can only bleed money for so long. Even with their money, it'll still eventually go away. Might be a long time, but it will happen. Sales will continue to dwindle unless they get third part support. They're only lasting as long as they are because A. first party exclusives and B. The 3DS hasn't finished running its course, yet and may not do for another few years yet...

11 RespuestasMeh. I still enjoy my One and PC much more than my PS4. But it's also fair to mention that Sony has the PS4 available in three times the number of markets than the One is offered in. Starting in September, the One goes "worldwide", and the number of available markets will be pretty much even at that point. Just from basic marketing and economics, that's bring some parity to the lopsided sales numbers, but it'll take several months to know for sure. [b]For the people who're going to hate on this post:[/b] Am I saying that in September, the One will begin stomping a mudhole into the PS4? No. i'm not saying that in any way. But the systems also have not been offered with equal availability since they both launched eight months ago. Simple economics says that this fact, in itself, will drastically affect the numbers. Like I said, it's not like the One will start trouncing the PS4 overnight (in fact, it might never catch up); but starting next month, the numbers won't be so lopsided.

Mostly because a large number of people jumped ship to Playstation from Xbox. Not many went from Playstation 3 to Xbox One. Honestly? I think it's because the Playstation 4 is basically an Xbox 360 with better hardware. Not many game changing things have been added, Sony decided to play it safe by taking everything lastgen did right. Xbox at least tried to change things up, but you don't get sales from trying and announcing shit policies. I'm hoping both consoles become even so we don't get any bloated heads or monopolies, but whatever.

3 RespuestasBiased X fan here: Xbox One is the best selling Xbox console yet. Faster selling then both the OG Xbox & 360. Xbox One is the 2nd fastest selling console in console history, behind the PS4. Sounds like a pretty successful launch to me. Is it outselling PS4? Nope. 2-1 loss there. Unless your like me and don't even consider it a fight. To each there own! And mine is the Xbox brand. Game on PS brothers and sisters!
