One big problem: How easy do you think it is to shut off experience, rewards, etc. that the Crucible offers? You would have to do that if you wanted to play a custom game, or else you could be potentially cheating.

Probably just as hard as when major Nelson told angry Joe that DRM wasn't easy to remove from the XB1 then the next day it was removed and the XB1 still works fine despite MS's BS over how instrumental DRM was. Get -blam!-ed This would b a simple block to code in. But I would probably never play private matches so not fussed either way.
-
Battlefield did it fine, so did Halo, and even CoD has it's own LAN matches. BF has private servers. Each has the ability to play unranked without experience...not that hard to disable it.
-
Easy enough as any other game that has a reward system, borderlands did it just fine
-
But Borderlands wasn't competitive. I believe Birdman is referring more to the rewards after a match in the Crucible. With custom games, if there were rewards, it would be extremely simple to farm them. Couldn't see that going well with some of the rewards gained from the Iron Banner...
-
Oh my god it's like speaking to brick walls, people don't play custom games for rewards they're simply there for FUN. and even in the Borderlands custom games you didn't earn anything it was just a 2v2 not matchmaking experience that you played with friends and didn't earn anything from it. It's seriously like the people who are replying to this post have never played a custom game in their life 0_0

You're missing the entire point of that explanation... You compared two games that made no sense in this situation. You basically said it's just as easy to disable the rewards in the game's code in a game that is strictly cooperative versus the competitive mode of another. Although looking back at my previous post, I could definitely have worded it better, as I did not mean to take an actual side. What I was merely trying to say was that it was an irrelevant comparison.
-
"It's not a part of the game code, we can give people more rare awards in the iron banner but we can't take them off for people to play against their friends" you sound absolutely ridiculous are you telling me thats impossible to do?
-
If you're going to try quoting me, please do it correctly as that is not what I said. And no, I'm not saying it's impossible to do it all. I'll try this again: I'm not saying it's impossible. All I was saying is that that particular comparison makes no sense.
-
So you're saying borderlands and Destiny aren't similar in anyway? If you don't then you're deluded
-
That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying Borderlands and the CRUCIBLE in Destiny are completely different.
-
where they present at lunch or implemented in a later patch?
-
If they done it they should of done it at the beta but if they do eventually it will be wayyyyyyy after launch!
-
I ment in borderland 2. They where avaiable at launch or implemented later?
-
Borderlands 1 at launch
-
And borderland 2?
-
Never played it
-
So on one side I hear that pvp without private/custom matches makes it impossible to be competative. Then another it's impossible to have fun without private/custom matches. So which is it? Cause being competative does not always mean you are having fun. Sends at that point you are in it to win it. But honestly think about making a custom gAme mode hunters only, how hard would that be to implement?
-
Editado por wzy: 8/15/2014 7:58:16 PMomg hahahahahah, I'm done. Theres no point in me trying to explain to you what I mean, you obviously no nothing about any competitive scene and the way it works.
-
But Bungie's game engine doesn't run like Borderlands'.
-
Neither do any of the others but they still have a private match system "500 million they've made a engine so complex that they can't include a private match system" alright then! that makes so much sense! ^_^
