Hey everyone hope you had a great time testing the beta, can’t wait for the 9th. Now that that’s out of the way, I’ve noticed a lot of people wondering why we can still see our guardians on the app when they have been deleted. I hope I can shed a little bit of light on the situation. However I do not work for Bungie so take this with a grain of salt. The app system and the game servers are separate units. The app system receives and stores data from the game servers then sends it to your phone or other device. Right now the game servers are offline; this makes it so the app system cannot update its data. That’s why you are able to get your character data even though it says unable to connect to server. So when the game severs go back up sometime close to the 9th. The app system will update and delete everything accordingly. Or maybe they just haven’t pushed the delete button. Or the ghost of our guardians cannot rest for they feel the guilt of not stopping the darkness, and the only way for them to pass on is to see that new capable guardians can pick up where they left off. Although I’ll miss my beta character he was not intended to stop the darkness, But rather to pave the road for the next generation of guardians. I know some of you may not like this, but sometime there is just no fighting, Destiny. P.S sorry for the pun lol
