You..... I like you.
-
Clever Warlock.
-
except radiance has a likelihood to revive your team. at least it did that from info a while back
-
Nope. By default it solely boosts the effectiveness of the user's abilities and can be upgraded to either reduce cooldowns for nearby allies, reduce the damage that the user takes, or to allow self resurrection.
-
According to a magazine special a few months back with a lot of details on destiny, the radiance buffs and revives allies. and the description is really vague anyway. yes you can upgrade it to self revive, or reduce cooldowns for allies. but if all it does off the bat is reduce cooldowns its worthless compared to the other five supers. it makes sense that it would revive the full team, especially with the passive that allows you to then be able to self revive in addition.
-
No, at its base, it increases the damage of your grenades and melee attacks. The available buffs are 1. reduce cooldowns for whole party, 2. increase Warlock's damage resistance, 3. self-revive.
-
And like ive said, its been stated before that its a buff AND a party revive. it makes sense if the passive allows it to extend to a self revive as well. and we honestly dont know if it increases damage of grenades and melee attacks. we know it already reduces teh warlocks cooldown, since the heart of the praxic fire exotic says it increases the cooldown reduction a lot. but since no one has used it in game, and the description is much more vague compared to that of the titan and warlocks level 15 subclasses supers. Its entirely possible it still has the group revive that was stated in previous information. its entirely possible it doesnt have the group revive. all i know is if all it does is increase damage of grenades and melee and reduce the cooldowns for both.... thats pretty weak compared to all five of the other supers. it almost needs the revive to be actually useful
-
I based my post on the in game description of the abilities. I read them during the beta. It isn't vague at all. The ability descriptions are pretty straight forward.
-
the passives yes. but the actual radiance description just tells you a little. and could be achieved through many methods.
-
The Radiance description says it dramatically increases the effectiveness of all your abilities... thus more damage... It tells you everything you need to know.
-
it could be faster recharge. more accuracy. larger area of effect. more range. it says it increases the effectiveness of all your abilities. not which area of their effectiveness
-
Seeing as one of passives increases recharge, that is out. I think you are putting way too much though into something that is pretty straightforward.
-
Its bungie. with them nothing is straightforward. they hide things. they are good at it. its what makes them special
-
Really? Cause they said a year ago after E3 2013 that warlock could throw a big purple ball of death, the titan could do a hulk smash, and the hunter could summon a fire gun. That's exactly what we got. Judging by the description directly from the beta, Radiance will make your melee ability and grenade probably twice as strong while active. That's it. Sunsinger, like the other lvl 15 subclasses, don't seem to have any instant gratification, meaning they aren't super effective until you have plenty of options. For example, if you build your sunsinger class towards armor, choose the damage reduction radiance upgrade, and the flame shield scorch upgrade, you'll essentially be a better tank than the Titan. Radiance will give that initial damage reduction, and your melee ability will now have its flame shield buffed by radiance and added on to the existing damage reduction now given by radiance. Get the upgrde that extends the duration of radiance and also the one that gives you an extra grenade and tada, you're a god.
-
They also said, in January of THIS year, that radiance revived allies. so =P yes they can be honest and upfront about things, but theyre also very great at being confusing and hiding things.
-
Well in the beta of last month, that wasn't listed as one of Radiance's effects. I'm pretty sure something THAT significant would be listed as an effect. Sorry, but if that feature was ever in the game, it's been removed. That doesn't stop the Sunsinger subclass from being the one I want to try out the most though.
-
same. because it is encased in all this mystery
-
Editado por Luna: 8/13/2014 1:56:47 AMThat's literally the entire subclass, it ain't that mysterious.
-
Editado por bman10119: 8/13/2014 2:02:24 AMexcept the fact the description of the super itself could be done and taken several different ways. and i swear to god Im so done with people showing me the talent build saying its clear when its very certainly not clear as far as the super itself. its upgrades, clear. all other abilities, clear. but the super itself is very vague. how does it increase effectiveness? lower cooldowns? More damage? larger area of effect? More range? seems kind of.... useless if all it does is let me throw my grenade a bit more often and burn people a bit sooner. at least in comparison to the other supers
-
"Fill yourself with solar light, dramatically increasing the effectiveness of all your abilities" = Light yourself on fire to become stronger, which is exactly what we've seen from the gameplay footage we have.
-
again. Stronger HOW? if its just a damage buff thats very boring compared to the other five game changing supers
-
"...increasing the effectiveness of all your abilities." Do you know what an ability is? its the special things your subclass allows you to do. So, your grenades will be stronger and your melee ability will will be better. Radiance isn't a super that truly shines until you get an upgrade for it. By default your grenades will deal more damage, which will be good once you get the upgrade that allows you to have 2 of em, and enemies you ignite with scorch will take more damage. The upgrades you put on scorch will also be upgraded. Your flame shield can take more damage, Solar wind will knock enemies further back, and the explosion caused by brimstone will deal more damage. Radiance is a multipurpose buff that can at first be used to increase damage output, but later as either team support, increased durability, or as a safety net with fireborn. That is how the game says radiance will work, and that is how we've seen it work. It isn't fully dedicated to team support, and is in fact more dedicated to making yourself stronger. You aren't a medic, you're a -blam!-ing Phoenix.

Of course i know what an ability is. but technically shooting a gun is an ability too. and there are tons of ways to improve the ability. lower cooldowns? More damage? larger area of effect? More range? EACH one of those would make it more effective. We already know itll reduce cooldown of course, if youve looked at the exotics since heart of the praxic fire does that. and im sorry but since you are, like myself, only speculating at this point your argument means nothing. just like mine means nothing. which is why im pretty sure youre ignoring pretty much every bloody word i type since now im typing in circles repeating myself. It has been said that radiance revives other players. Im not saying it still does. im not saying it doesnt. Im saying if all it does is buff damage and cooldown its lackluster compared to the other supers. each of the other supers gives you a new tool to your arsenal. the idea of a super that doesnt provide new, just makes old stronger, seems like a cheap move that has been done in almost every other game, and is underpowered in comparison to all other supers. and saying it only shines when it gets an upgrade proves that. each of the other five supers looks extremely useful BEFORE being upgraded. I think Bungie is better than that.
-
Yes because being able to resurrect your self and deal a boosted melee attack to the person that killed you only second before in a crucible match is really under powered.
