Gotta disagree completely with this one. My friends and I have been playing together for many years. All we do is bullshit about random nonsense and mark my words, we'll get through these Raids same as everyone else.

The same difficulty which me and my friend spent the most time messing about on? getting too attached to our warthog (or other vehicles) and took them to places no warthog was meant to go (halo 3 first mission on the ark taking the guass warthog to the end of the level on legendary is especially satisfying if only to run over the chieftain and just blast the rocket brutes out of the sky) Dieing 3/4 way through a raid taking it seriously is pretty good you got pretty far memorized what you need to do next time to get that far again Dieing 1/2 way through a raid playing like a badass trying new tactics making more risky moves is a damn fun raid and a damn good night plus you may have learned a new better way to get past an encounter or to defeat a boss for next time or when you play with your mates for a serious attempt to reach the end If you have the mentality losing means you wasted your time then 50% of PvP is a waste of time as if your put against guardians of equal skill you should win and lose 50% of the time

ahh my bad dude I still reckon the points about dieing 3/4 taking it seriously and 1/2 messing about but having fun are still valid but changing the subject from that I am curious to see how they adapt raiding elements from other raiding games into a FPS without it just being an ordinary 6 player coop FPS mission (tho with destiny's gameplay that would probably still be pretty damn fun)

Most won't make it through the raids, again...assuming they are designed with the complexity of their predecessors. Did you read the bit about bungie testing the first raid encounter (vault of glass) with a top ranked clan? After 16 straight hours, they hadn't completed it. Dancing on boss heads wasn't anything they were thinking about prior to engaging either. These guys were super serious. But I like your confidence and emoticons.

What makes a group of players a top ranked clan? A top ranked clan to Bungie could be a mediocre clan to everyone else.

I did, and that statement they made seemed hyperbolic to say the least. But I sincerely hope it is that legit and that I can't dance on heads, because I live for the challenge and long nights!

If I have to take a game that seriously to complete a mission, then I think the developers have failed to make a fun game.

my first reaction to his claim was, define raid... after a second read and putting in some logic... you can complete a raid with some bullshitting nonsense in it, it all depends on your team and how well they know the tactics and strategies... going in for the first time and bullshitting will lead to failure. if that's not the case Bungie have failed in making a raid

Raids are suppose to be a pain in the ass and be extremely difficult, that's why they carry good loot. If they dumb it down for Shitty players that don't understand the concept of teamwork, then I will be extremely pissed.

I want the holy shit factor in raids... just like the one when i encountered the ogre at the skywatch for the first time... "there's a cave here, lets go in" "Holy Shit.... What are you?" "nooooooooo" My list of things that killed me in the beta is done... I will have my revenge *evil laugh*

I did the same when I met/destroyed the ogre with a buddy of mine. We were both like, "WTF is that? Let's get closer..... Holy shit, holy shit! Back up, back up!) Amongst other excited babble, during/after we destroyed him.

I don't think he meant that he and his team just -blam!- around, I think he meant that he and his friends tend to babble about nonsense, the same as me and my team do. Its not difficult to both have a random conversation as well as concentrate on the task at hand.

after a few rounds in devil's lair i noticed myself taking lead and my friends following directions or saying they need help... it made clearing the strike that much easier and reviving a thing of the past... Sure you can make jokes and have fun... but i believe, that in raids communication is key to success otherwise they would implement match-making in raids. a good joke can wipe out a raid...
