30fps will ruin Destiny's future
The lifespan of a video game can only be extended by its multiplayer. Destiny, even though it has a decent competitive section , it's not gonna pay off. MLG players won't take it to the pro level , that's like a golden rule in pro gaming "Play only 60fps games" , those missing frames make the difference between a kill or a death. Destiny will be a bomb when it drops , but it with do time , games like COD will take over .
What do you guys think?

You seem to think that competitive players make games good and have long lifespans. That's not true. Games that are good keep people playing them, those people who end up becoming the best at the game become competitive players. If people enjoy watching the competitive players play, organizations like MLG will hold tournaments for those players. The number of frames per second is irrelevant to this process. Anything below 60fps might bother CoD, LoL, and Starcraft pro players, but they aren't going to be playing anything other than CoD, LoL, or Starcraft so they don't matter to Destiny's competitive scene in the slightest. Destiny's competitive base, assuming one forms, will consist of the best Destiny players, that's how this stuff works. Game is good-> people play the game for a long time-> people get good at the game -> people play competitively. It's not the other way around.

MLG snark snark. If MLG won't be playing it it won't be played snark snark. Dude. Come on. I play plenty of games that MLG won't. and they have plenty of large fan bases. People aren't going to stop playing Pokemon, Warframe, Guild Wars, Mario Kart, etc just because MLG doesn't play it. There will be tough competition amongst those who love the game and search hard for crazy loot, The Iron Banner. But it won't get much MLG attention. Who cares? I played the Beta as did many others and LOVED it. And it wasn't even at it's highest resolution yet. Your points, they make no sense.

This isn't a cod game yes it has a multiplayer PvP but the PvE has attracted hoards of players as well so maybe for PvP the game will drop off the radar but it'll be a viable game for quite sometime for PvE content

good nobody wants self proclaimed pros and MLGs, all I heard from those guys during the beta was, complain complain complain. "take off specials, it prevents 15+kill streak" um specials are the core of the entire game. "This game inst balanced" um yes it was you just didn't like the odds being in your (experienced) favor. "wheres the hard core mode" the iron banner, "but the iron banner isn't balanced" that's what makes it hard core, ur armor rating and gun dmg actually count in iron banner, in crucible everything is balanced to keep everyone the same. So MLGs and self proclaimed Pros can go by-by, nobody cares about u.

Have you never heard of single-player DLC? In fact, I would argue (although this is just my personal opinion) that single-player is usually superior to any online component. Second, the only people who care about "professional" gaming / MLG are people who participate in those events. And that's like 0.0001% of gamers. It matters to almost nobody, and is hilarious to complain about. Third and last, I'd rather have a constant framerate that stays at 30 FPS than a game that says "60 FPS" but routinely drops into the 20s and 30s. That kind of frame dropping is completely jarring, and ruins the experience, far more than something at a lower - but SOLID - framerate does. Don't be an alarmist.

The game has been designed from the ground-up as something you stick around endgame for. A good chunk of people are here entirely for the PvE side of things. Nightfall missions, strikes, and raids. The lifespan of a game franchise isn't determined by it having a competitive scene - it's determined by sales and community. On a final note, I find it hilarious that people actually consider consoles a valid method for competitive gaming.

Math says 30 fps is a full frame every 0.03 seconds. So thinking that if you are above 3sd in reaction time, then you have good reason to be let down. The rest of us normies will enjoy the game.
