This is why your lovely matchmaking will never work right for the raids.
BUNGIE took the TOP clan and put them up against the Vault of Glass.
16 HOURS LATER they still could NOT finish it. Ill let you wrap your minds around that........
.
.
.
......Okay now, Do you really think if one of the top clans took that much time, with awesome call outs, amazing skill, and super-human movements (etc.etc.etc.) that for one second a group of randoms could finish this with no talking, nor same skill range, nor knowing how the other plays(etc.etc.etc). Well the answer is .....NO.
Now let me remind you, this is not Call of Doody (see what I did there lol) Zombies. Nor Firefight from Halo Reach, this is Destiny a whole new game nothing can compare to this game. Its as if 20 different games had a baby, but even then were no where close.
Noobs beware (This means if you feel like a noob, smell like one, act or talk like one this is for you) Raids are not for you, they are for the player that spends the time hunting, levels up everything, and puts his or her heart into the character. You may enjoy to play destiny and halo but the truth is that there are many players out there not all are elite. The raids are meant for them.
They didnt make the Vidmasters from Halo to be easy so everyone could get recon that smack was hard.(Plus you needed friends or used the fourms to get help to even finish them) You know why ............. no matchmaking.
PVE=Raids &Missions = No Matchmaking
PVP= Matchmaking

We'll said no more noob friendly games

1 RespuestaI opt for the ability to solo it

2 RespuestasA "top" clan not being able to beat the raid in one sitting doesn't surprise me. Anyone who hardcore raided in WoW understands boss progression, and knows it took time to, well, progress. Forums are your matchmaking, people. You don't want random people doing the raid with you. You're asking for a nightmare. I doubt it will be hard finding people, and Bungie might implement a LFG board at the tower, which might make things a lot easier. ( hopefully they do)

8 RespuestasEditado por AdunSaveMe: 8/6/2014 8:20:17 PMI'm all for a bunch of people who don't particularly care about finishing. That's fine. Maybe we'll learn something to help in the future. Maybe we'll just have fun. But on the other hand, when I do decide I actually want to finish it, I'd rather have people that want to do the same thing. Though personally I don't think I'd mind much. I'd be the kinda guy that's just cool with finishing or not finishing depending on what the other guys have planned. If not, then we can have fun. If yes, then I know to get SERIOUS. I disagree with the notion that raids are only for people who can or want to finish them then and there. Also with the pve = no matchmaking thing. I wouldn't mind an option to join an existing fireteam in a mission.

Idc about the MM. But dont be a prick about it lol.
-
Well even though this is trolling, know what happens if noobs don't buy games? Games won't sell...
-
1 RespuestaSo it is Legendary with Skulls on, gotcha.
-
2 RespuestasEverything in your post works except one thing. Lukems said that people who cannot beat the Raid's 2nd, 3rd, and other parts will be able to get good gear from the first section which is easier. I think eventually people that are not as devoted as you are will be able to get down on the harder levels of the raid(s) as well.

2 Respuestas(ಠ_ಠ) Couldn't beat it cause I wasn't there. It's a vault of glass. Should've punched it and gotten the prize. What noobs.

2 RespuestasOk a.name from a level in doom 1 Knee deep in hell I think it's fitting here I hope fitting is the right Word :D

1 RespuestaEditado por SeekerofPower17: 8/6/2014 3:02:10 PMI do not support Matchmaking, but your post is poorly worded and just makes you look like an asshat. There is no need to talk down to people that want it.

Your making the skilled players look like elitists which are not the same thing. Im cool with the whole no MM for raids shouldn't be too hard to find people myself but for everybody that gets he attitude. You wanna raid? then makes friends. Cant make friends or they all think you suck? Get better and -blam!- off. This is supose to be a Social game and people are already putting them selves in to certain classes/roles of being a Noob/ Try Hard/ Fail tard/ Elitists. Why dont some of you self proclaimed "skilled players" tell the people that cry about wanting MM that hey I will do some Missions with you and lets see what you can do and try to raid. Im not sure if they are doing a raid lock out systems or what not but worse case you have a good time with new people and get to assist people see content they may not have seen without your help.

1 RespuestaI think the problem you are really trying to point out here is that the raids of Destiny well be incredibly hard and require teams to practice and plan ahead to even stand a chance, and this still might not be enough. So inputting a system which will throw together six strangers to attempt this task would be quite cruel. No one in the group will know how the other people play or how best to support each other, let alone if they have the gear that will be necessary to even stand a chance of completing it. Even if it's five people that play together and they are just picking up a random sixth, that is a hugh gamble of wasted time as to whether or not the person knows what they are doing or whether they will work well with the pre-existing team (you would rather find this stuff out in a strike where the stakes are not so high). Over all a match making system for something as difficult as raids in Destiny will probably be more frustrating then helpful and lead people to complain that the raids are to difficult and they need to make them easier, rather then people gearing up and finding a dedicated group that wants to work together to ultimately succeed.

1 RespuestaDon't want matchmaking but still all people started somewhere

6 RespuestasThe joys of educating 'elite' noobs.
-
1 RespuestaThe game isn't even released yet, so all of this speculation is pretty much irrelevant. I suggest you go back to WoW.
-
5 RespuestasI guess you better hope you fall under that "elite" category huh.

Editado por Godchild: 8/6/2014 4:06:38 AMRaids are all about throwing yourselves at a mob until you learn the fight. Doing research and trying everything you can think of if you keep failing at the fights if you cant beat it the same way others have. Sooner or later you will learn the fight, the do's and don'ts and will progress to the next fight. Repeat over and over until you clear the raid. I have years of experience doing this in mmo's and 16 hours is nothing if they didnt have any prior info on the fight, no guides to look at or first hand experience of beating the raid. It took my guild over a month at one time to clear a raid completely back in my everquest days. 2-4 nights a week dedicated to dying over and over to the same mob. Months of raids to get all the gear we wanted from the raids for our toons we all had, and we repeated this each expansion. Heck eventually we started to get pugs, not using the perfect group setups, and even less groups for a challenge sometimes and it was super rewarding to do. Yes team work is required but not having match making just because its hard is not an excuse. Not having an in game chat system is also a very sad thing. It makes getting to know people in the game itself hard and we are forced to use forums to get to know people. So I support match making with raids and other pve content.

I don't support mm but that doesn't mean i am Elite. I'll still be happy to teach and guide newcomers.
-
I'll still Beat the vault of glass.
-
Meh I bet if I pulled Six Dusters into Destiny and ran a Raid, we'd finish it. Elite has nothing do with it..... No player I have ever seen in an FPS is "Elite" they're just..... more aware. In this case I doubt the lack of Matchmaking will prevent soloists from making it in to Raids. Yes you will never be able to do it along but I guarantee you these players will find channels to squad up in and run through Raids.

3 RespuestasI'm usually average at best but have not failed a single challenge in a game so far, But sure i can't do it the first time, Why i call myself average but i think it counts that in the end you still get it done even if it takes weeks, Strongest are those that pick's them selfs right up after falling time after time.
-
They're for everyone, people act as if they've never been a newbie to anything, shit is retarded.
-
I don't see them being as difficult as they are being hyped up to be. I know they will be challenging but my clan should have no issue as we all are good players. The strikes are meant to farm with pugs when wasting time...
