Respawning is not a natural talent of yours, is it? The only class that wouldn't automatically be on HARDCORE mode would the the self resurrecting Warlock subclass. Even then, the Ghosts might be the channel through which the guardians power and life are maintained. It's quite possible that you would just die and/or lose all of your powers when the Ghost is out of range (Much like the jewels in Madoka Magica),

Technically respawning is a talent of mine... I do press square whenever I need to respawn lol. And that's a good observation about the Ghost being a conduit for my life... but I'm a Warlock, I'm sure I can master my power to a degree where I can preserve my life

I would imagine that a Warlock would be the first to discover the limitations of their resurrection, but that doesn't mean that it's necessarily possible for you to maintain your own life. Remember, all of your power comes from the Traveler. The only thing we don't know is weather your livelihood is permanent or if it takes constant energy from the Traveler. Either way, only 1/9th of the subclasses could respawn without their ghost taking 30 seconds or having a buddy fix you up, and even that may flow through the ghost.
