Oh god... that C64 soddin tape drive and the HUGE amount of time it took to load up... and then crash at the last second. I eventually got the 5.25" floppy drive which made life a bit easier.
Today gamers don't know how good they have got it.

Yea... That damn tape drive had you on the edge hoping it would go through without an error. It was a trip. But then again the television sets back then took close to 10 - 15 mns before you could actually see a picture after turning it on when it wasn't warmed up. Patience was paramount back then. #AOA

Did you have one of those Datel hacking cartridges. I remember using it and finding that one game actually included the software they used to create it and I ended up hacking the game to make my own version of it. This was before total conversions were around. Can't remember what the game was though... been WAYYYYYY too long.
