I know exactly which video you're talking about. The guy was protesting at a pride parade. What did he expect to happen? He wasn't just casually walking down the street, and then beat to death.

I didn't special plead shit. I asked for a source where someone was beaten to death. If I'm thinking of the same situation he was, the person was beaten - but not to death.

That is clearly a metaphor meaning a verbal beating.

I can't think of an alternative meaning for "beaten to death." Nowhere does that imply anything other than physical assault.
