Experienced pro game tester checking in (yes I get paid).
This beta has many reasons to believe that your data will be saved. Most betas, even RPG betas, will have certain elements not included to save on install space. This was a 12 gig beta, which is a big big install for a beta. Most are about a third that size. Also the inclusion of attainable gear outside the level cap. Once again, these things would be left out to save space/ keep beta dumbed down to make less room for glitches/errors.
This beta was more about social response and server stress and connectivity. The game aspect felt very polished, damn near finished.
In my experiences in over a decade of testing.... Don't be scared.
