As some of you know, DeeJ has confirmed that thee Will only be ONE explorable area per planet.
That means that we only have 4 explorable areas (earth, moon, Venus and Mars) and possible 5 if the reef is explorable.
With this said I am kinda disappointed that destiny maybe be smaller than expected. The game will still be amazing though!
What are you're guys' thoughts on this?

Editado por MullyMagic: 7/28/2014 4:22:41 PMMaybe Old Russia is the only area on Earth for free roam but you might have missions in different places outside of it. This new MP map shows an area away from Old Russia http://ie.ign.com/articles/2014/07/28/destiny-multiplayer-map-revealed-twilight-gap-a-ign-first

I doubt it. Bungie wouldn't break my heart like that.

5 RespuestasIf you played The Moon yesterday and Explored ((like me)) You would see the map is Massive. And I got lost ON THE MOON

Well, from what I have read, Bungie and Activision have a ten year plan for Destiny. This probably means that there won't be a Destiny 2, 3, and so on. Instead, I imagine we will be receiving several dlc's which will expand the game. Just think of all the content that might be added over the next 10 years. The game size might become 5x or possibly even larger than what it will be after it releases in September. If this is the path they choose to follow, then I'm all for it. I don't mind spending the money on dlc's if there isn't going to be more game releases. This way there are less discs to keep up with. All I'm saying is this, don't be too disappointed in the size yet. Who knows, once it releases, the size might blow all of our minds, but if not, just wait for the dlc's. I'm sure Bungie has a lot in store for us.

You forgot Saturn.

3 RespuestasThe one area per planet is pretty big though they hacked into at least three places on earth we couldn't go. There was lots of tunnels filled with guys we can't kill and that's just earth...should be big enough

Editado por Aysnvaust: 7/28/2014 12:02:31 PMDestiny maybe smaller than we think - indeed. And here comes the twist: Destiny maybe bigger than we think.
maybe, maybe, popaybe
What you think is the small 5 zones is just the beginning of a massive freaking game! It's the tip of the ice berg to the potential this game brings . It's gonna be legen ..wait for it , dary!

1 RespuestaDont put words in his mouth that wasnt said he said we called is destanations we have 4 earth moon venus and mars he didnt said how many areas there is in each destanation the world will be big guys dont stress it

1 RespuestaEditado por Jay: 7/27/2014 8:31:28 PMHis answer was very vague he didn't say that there was "one" explorable area per planet but he mentioned that they're calling the planets "destinations" and that they've already revealed all the "destinations" in the first version of the game which are "planets". So far we have Earth, Moon, Mars and Venus and they've also mentioned or have info on Mercury, Jupiter and Saturn and their Moons. We don't know how many or how big each area will even be. So I suggest for everyone to sit tight and wait until release.

4 RespuestasOne thing I read and heard in an interview way back That may hold relevance. There's going to be new stuff to do in the game world very very often. Idk if it's daily weekly etc...but here's a point I'll try to make. Its not to farfetched to say there's already a crapload of stuff already pre made and tested that will be put into our experience over time slice by slice. In this way, it assures players won't blow through the entire universe too quickly. They can gauge how fast we play through the maps, missions etc. Using this as a staple to use in the next expansion or hard copy should there be one.

Did anyone consider that the 22 mission thing in the beta code could include the missions we obtain in explore mode? Also possibly the public events and the tower possibly being labeled a mission? Even still I'm not going to believe anything until the game releases or Bungie confirms something in a news release. I understand that DeeJ said what he did but it is very convoluted due to the question he was asked. We need to wait and see what happens.

4 RespuestasIf you take into consideration all the area in the beta map, plus all the high level area that could lead on to more areas (grotto area, tunnels, basements, etc), I found the map in the beta pretty immense. In fact, I put in a major amount of time on a couple of the areas and still don't feel bored. All this, on 3 more exploration areas sound pretty good to me, and maybe more with the 2 expansions. I can hardly contain my excitement for the full game. My University studies are going to suffer.

9 RespuestasThe key to a successful online world is "slow progression". It keeps people hooked. They aren't going to release the biggest game that you imagined on launch. If you had the mind of a developer/publisher you'd expect new things over time. They have to save ideas or else we would experience everything at once. #secretsofthevideogameindustry

Ya but also strike missions, pvp, hopefully expansions, this game will take awhile to get bored of
-
This is extremely disappointing.
-
The game people are getting at launch is smaller compared to what the added dlc will cumulate.
-
I don't think it's going to be smaller than I thought. Maybe you. Size issues buddy?

3 RespuestasEditado por CaptKrunch: 7/27/2014 3:03:04 PMGrimoire cards, concept art, what they've said. That's a lot of locations, I think you're overreacting. We've heard plenty of locations.

2 Respuestaswait? So no Old Chicago? :(
-
8 RespuestasYou know the areas you are going to explore on each planet is going to be huge right? And down the line they are going to release more, they want this game to last 10 year's. So of course their not going to dump everything they have straight from the beginning. All I know is I am going to be playing this game until it's aforementioned "decade run" is over. Since COD and BF suck dick now and they are just pushing out the same crap over and over with just some differences, I like there are going to be games like destiny that are going to make games like that disappear.
-
4 RespuestasWhat you didn't hear though is when he said "On day release there will only be the cosmodrome" So, with DLC over the course of the 10 years, we will be having new areas to explore earth. Just NOT YET.

One raid. XD
