EDIT: since people are under the impression I'm here to bash, that's not it. I'm highlighting all of the faulty and down right horrible tactics common in Destiny that were prevalent in Halo.
So far I've tried to make note of every classic noob tactic I recognize from the good days of Halo.
-The shotgun melee noob: runs around with a shotgun all the time. If they see you at range they won't switch weapons, they'll running in a straight line spamming melee hoping for a lunge or simply pray you suck at aiming and miss shots so they can reach you. Applies to the pulse rifle as well.
EDIT: Better options, strafing and/or swapping weapons depending on distance.
-The jump first shoot second noob: I honestly don't know what they're thinking. Maybe they thinking jumping will make them harder to hit or turn invisible. Either way, in a fire fight the first thing they do is jump out into the open, and in that time you've dropped their shields and are going for the headshot. Lesson to be learned, staying grounded and by cover is priority unless you can reach a vantage point or new cover by jumping.
Better option: Strafing
-The fringe sniping noob: hugs the edge of the map for dear life and snipes. Will probably get 4-5 kills from doing so while they're team gets slaughtered. But it's worth it right?
-the jumpy noob: triggers their super immediately or sprays for dear life at the sight of an enemy, often hitting nothing.
-the grenade assist noob: teammates in a firefight with 1-2 people and needs help. First thing this guy does is toss a horribly placed grenade instead of shooting, leading to a teammates death and more than likely they're own.
Better option: Shooting
-the vehicular noob: gets into a key vehicle but has no idea how to survive in it and be beneficial to the team. Will either die in the first couple of minutes of the match or jump out in enemy territory and give them the vehicle.
-the blind noob: doesn't use the motion tracker at all. Is oblivious to practically everything except taking damage, going so far as to run by enemies.

Great post, so true it's sickening!! I love MP but unless I get on a team with decent team players I really don't bother anymore. I see everything you said plus more that just makes me shake my head and not want to play lol. I always get on the team with these types of "players". Sure, I know not everyone is going to be a pro, I'm not either, but if you are going to play at least TRY... Good times haha, hopefully the baddies will get annoyed at dying constantly at some point and just stop altogether. But at the same time everyone wants to have fun so there's that.

Dredgen VonDon't save her - antiguos
I slide and shoot when I encounter people now it makes me feel more badass #hunter -
I had this one guy tht everytime we were on the moon, he was always on the vehicles.......i thought he was surgically attached to them lol
-
By the time its over, we'll all be a Master Beater, since I've already ran into several posts referencing Sword Art Online :D
-
Strangely enough I haven't run into many of these types of players. I've met a couple "Halo Jumpers" but otherwise people play pretty fairly. I admit though I make involuntary noises of rage and confusion whenever a Hunter caps me with Golden Gun.

1 RespuestaIt's not halo. Not even close. Quit comparing.

6 RespuestasConfessions of a shooter noob, While we are all noobs at Destiny, I believe the OP is meaning Noobs to shooters, which I fall right into. This beta is the very first time I have ever played any type of Multiplayer game at all beyond a sports game with people at my house. To say I was a bit unnerved clicking the crucible the first time was an understatement, especially after watching some of the twitcher's playing and commenting on the horrible play of some likewise noobs. But I did it. I like the suggestions he offered, as I probably more often during the beta did those bad tactics to begin. I did improve with playing for some 20 hours but my K/D is a .26 still, Yikes.. but that improved over the last 10 Crucible matches up from -0- double yikes. The hardest realization I had was no matter how many hours and at what difficulty you play a single player shooter or how many years, it in no way prepared me for mutli-player to any extent. I also suggest to any others whom wish to play mutli-player for the first time ever, is that a beta is a good time to jump in as during some matches I only managed to score 300 points when I began and our team would lose by maybe 600 points or so, I felt bad, and figured the other team-member's were thinking if this noob had did anything we would have won easily, but I wasn't to concerned due to it being the beta and maybe records wouldn't carry over into the full game an hopefully with some practice I can hold my own which in the later games I played I feel I did to some extent. Anyway, the suggestions always help and I look forward to playing and improving against and with everyone in the coming months/years.

Lol, feel like I would be a shotgun noob. I do the shotgun/melee(my whole halo career) but I only do it when I know someone is in the room. (Cqb) :/ ah well. Noob ill be, least I dont go around and goldengun.

Like most games the weak out way the strong witch effect the many...only when the weak are silenced by standing on there own two feat will they find the light in the darkness
-
It's funny how people are bashing you when you clearly states "classic" like the noobs that are I'm every shooter
-
1 RespuestaOh, didn't realize the game had been out already for about 5 months. Golly, where does the time go..
-
2 RespuestasEverybody playing Destiny is a n00b. We have a few days of beta testing under our belts and some of us have alpha experience. The only people that have played Destiny that aren't n00bs are Bungie employees or testers.

Editado por Krogdor: 7/22/2014 5:43:03 AMI'm definitely one of those noobs you can even look at my stats haha. I would like to point out the only reason you have to deal with me is because I want some cool loot from the crucible. Also some bounties involve bash killing and doing some pretty noob stuff. I am still figuring out the game style I am more of an adventure player than PVP. I am also more objective oriented and that gets me killed a lot trying to take back control points. Haha but I have fun and its just a videogame, I hope you get some laughs out of me when you destroy me. Edit: I don't fit into all of those categories haha

1 RespuestaInteresting topic. Currently I am playing with a few buds, 1 Titan, 2 Warlocks, and myself a Hunter. It took a few to figure out how each of our strengths work and how it works into a fireteam. It was a learning process, especially when you just enter an area and a walker spawns. Thank goodness for revive. Yet we did learn. The Titan and I would strike from different sides, the Warlocks would hang back and hit at range but not enough to draw aggro. The Titan and I would take turns in grabbing aggro to give the other a breather if needed. In the end though I believe it's all about having fun. If you are having fun, then it's all good.

1 RespuestaThey won't exactly be noobs if they killed you am I right? They just used clever tactics that you weren't able to predict.
-
So I'm assuming you are just pissed because you are getting wrecked by people using these methods. People aren't "noobs" for using these tactics. At least most people aren't sitting in a corner crouched waiting for you to come to them.

1 RespuestaInteresting XB players saying most PS players haven't played Halo... Over half the PS community myself included came from XB, after that shocking display from MS at E3. So pretty sure majority of PS players have had experience with Halo.
-
The jumping skills actually can be useful if use them in the form of a vertical flank. And op you missed one, the wanna-be sniper noob- does the same thing as the fringe sniper except can't aim for shit and will occasionally pop your you shields with a lucky shot.
-
4 RespuestasI hate noobs.
-
1 RespuestaIt's funny. Calling ppl noobs in a game that's not even out yet. One week into the beta. Lol I think we're all noobs right now. Pre-noobs maybe.

5 RespuestasCan you just calm down

Editado por Clone117: 7/22/2014 2:49:34 AMyour forgot the other noobs who will stand in the blast radius of the aftermath effects of fist of havoc and certain grenades and die. edit i mean idiots.

Your an idiot

4 RespuestasGonna finish single player, max out to rank 8 (or higher if they raise it with the maintenance) and do everything I can to upgraded weapons. I'll try the crucible but I might just do public events and help other guardians in need.

26 RespuestasEditado por Oo TH3J4P oO: 7/21/2014 11:43:33 AMSorry, but I jump alot and I finish 99% of my kill doing it because theres newb out there that dont know how to aim, so when you jump they start freaking out and they shoot every where. By The way PS4 player sucks alot at Destiny, My 15 years of experience in Halo Franchise help me alot ;) The real gamers and competition will begin July 23 on Xbox One :)
