2 RespuestasGuns don't kill people, people kill people. With guns. And it's much easier to prevent people from having guns than it is to prevent them from disliking one another. That's why people want to remove guns from the violence equation.

I feel like it's a bit ridiculous. Explosives and cars are both tightly regulated, because we understand that they can be dangerous in the wrong hands. Same thing goes for guns. Saying "this tool can be extremely dangerous" isn't blaming guns for anything, it's simply stating a fact.
-
2 RespuestasLol your post is a contradiction to itself .. by its logic we should blame the bomb and the car if we blamed the gun.. but it says we blame the bomber and the driver therefore we would blame the shooter
-
1 RespuestaYou notice how shootings always happen at places where guns aren't allowed? A shooter doesn't want to go to a place where he will get shot back at. Taking away guns just makes the innocent more vulnerable. Do you really think a killer isn't going to be able to get a gun just because the law says he can't have one? The law also told him to not kill.. Doesn't look like he followed that law now does it? A law taking away guns will just disarm the victim; it will not disarm the shooter.

1 RespuestaI 100% agree with this. Banning guns won't solve the problem, they'll just be sold on the black market and give criminals the upper hand. You could see the problems in Chicago pop up around the country.

Solution: ban stupidity
-
It's cuz the gun has a mind of it's own

I believe anti-gun protesters still blame the shooter, but want to take guns away from potential future shooters. Explosives are already illegal to the general public, and there is a lot of safety campaigning around cars. People want guns taken away because (in America) they're the easiest, most accessible way for a member of the public to kill a lot of other Civillians in a short time. They don't necessarily blame the gun, if I'm making sense.

2 RespuestasSo, being from the UK, I'm neutral on the whole argument, but even so I have to point out how stupid that picture is. First off, the US doesn't sell bombs over the counter, anyone found carrying a bomb is instantly arrested, because everyone recognises their destructive powers and agrees it's not a good idea to let people have them. Secondly, vehicles have another purpose, they're vehicles, they're made for transport, if we go down that route you'd have to ban everything, the point being that guns' and bombs' only purpose is to kill. Again, I'm neutral in this but that's clearly some kind of propaganda and I thought I'd point out the huge flaw in its logic so people can make up their own minds.

3 RespuestasEditado por afanoflafear: 7/20/2014 12:52:50 PMI 100% disagree with the intentions of the person who made this image. Think about it: If the weapons James Holmes, Elliot Rodger or Seung-Hui Cho used in their shootings happened to magically disappear a minute before they began their spree, they would be less of a threat so they can either go home or still attempt to harm their targets but with what? a knife? They'll be able to kill one victim with a knife, maybe two but they would of been overpowered and disarmed by the rest of the people within the vicinity before a third kill could of been executed. What I'm trying to say is a gun is a powerful weapon, able to kill civilians from a distance or inside a vehicle with ease, when a person gains possession of it, they could become tempted to commit a crime they would never have committed should the weapon never have come into their possession. Banning guns won't solve the problem? How about the government demand a recall of all firearms from civilians, anyone who is caught in a possession of a firearm after the recall will face severe punishment (30 years in prison, no parole?) IIRC adults are able to legally purchase guns from firearm shops in the US? well that is just fucking stupid, it's as if your government wants these shootings to happen. I'm not saying the fault 100% belongs to the gun, I'm saying the weapon is part of the problem and people denying it is another problem. Ofcourse gun owners will always have something to say no matter how well we explain it to them, guess they can't live without their precious toys...t

Accurate enough.

Standard procedure. Folks aren't looking at the bigger picture. Society itself is is buggered up right to hell, and rather than look at the real issues, as always, folks point fingers in the wrong direction.
-
I agree. It seems like in most cases (school shootings because there's been the "most" more recently) the shooter is actually somewhat portrayed as a victim.
