What is so great about Destiny?
After playing the "Alpha" (more like a polished demo), I do not see what fascinates people with this game so much. From the gameplay to the open world, it just seems meh.
It very much reflects the gameplay of the Borderlands franchise. From play abilities and weapons, to map loading areas and exploration. I thought I was going to be playing something new.
Then the player limit. 3 players? I thought I would be okay with this, but it is way too damn small, especially when playing alone and being randomly paired up. It took me over 30 minutes just to find someone in a game I joined. Not to mention that this number is less then the amount of people you can play with in Borderlands, a game extremely similar in gameplay.
The multiplayer is a complete joke of Bungie's attempt to be different.
The Tower is a place for a bunch of 12 year olds to harass someone with a female character model.
Go ahead an call me a troll or whatever you #Destiny people do when someone doesn't like your game. Destiny is nothing but a reskin of Borderlands.

1 RespuestaYou're right. Destiny is very similar to Borderlands. I personally loved Borderlands 2, and like many of the elements in Destiny that resemble Borderlands. But there is more to Destiny than what is in Borderlands. Whereas Borderlands was humorous and fun, its story and its world were not as strong as Destiny's appears to be. For me, Destiny holds its appeal primarily for the sense of discovery and exploration that it instills. Pandora was a fun, crazy world, but it wasn't as thought-provoking or immersive as Destiny's appears to be. In Borderlands, you could find very little in the way of hidden areas. Each location went from A to B, with little in between. It was open world, but its levels were largely linear. Destiny is less linear in area constructs, full of interesting landmarks and unmarked locations (somewhat akin to Skyrim). Its story seems more serious, as opposed to Borderlands. Borderlands' story got dark, but it lost its potency from the humor imbedded in every scene. Destiny's story seems to be deep and complex, across an entire solar system. While there is no way to know, I expect an ending as potent as any of the Halo games, perhaps even more so. In conclusion, I think that although it loses the humor and the extra spot in a team that Borderlands possesses, it gains a truly open world and a stronger story. While I might be wrong, this is what I am truly hoping for in Destiny.

If your not a troll, then you are just someone who'll miss out and not even know it (ignorance is bliss) and I would recommend not wasting any more of your time in s forum for a game you don't want.. No hating just a suggestion for better use of your time... Wish you could see it. (Played some border lands myself and didn't exactly go nuts personally, played wow once upon a time , lol, dota ... SNES is probably my favorite console of all time cut my multiplayer teeth on golden eye played mass effect, halo, battlefield, call of duty, tomb raider, some last of us... And so on and so on in case it was going to go in the direction of assuming I am cod idiot or halo idiot or any other kind of gaming idiot people try to use to discredit them for voicing an opinion) not saying you have to like the game.. Wish you did but you do you. I hope you find enjoyment in another game equal to what I will find in destiny

No-one demands that you share our anticipation for the game. Your expectation that everyone should agree with your cynicism is a waste of time, and I suggest you direct your energies to something more constructive. Please don't feel threatened by our enthusiasm.

1 RespuestaWhat appeals to me is a great combination of all the things I've wanted in a game. In no specific order: 1. Sci-Fi 2. Post apocalypse 3. FPS 4. MMO 5. RPG Without being overly RPG. 6. PvP arena style Open PvP depends on outside factors too heavily and I like small face to face battles arena style. 7. Exploration when I feel like it. Sometimes I just want to chill and take in the scenery. Maybe find a weird cave with a hermit or monster. Or get drunk and lost. I do that quite a bit actually. 8. Story like a single player action game. I'm intrigued by the mystery aspect. Uncovering the lost history of the Golden Age and not knowing what I'm going to be fighting.. That's just cool. PvP games usually lack any story. and RPG games usually tell it half-ass through tiny text and repeatable quests that no one reads or pays any attention to. 9. Survival horror. This game is spooky. Admit it. The lighting and the sounds and score.. Just beautiful and eerie. Those hive guys coming out of the shadows reminds me of Resident Evil back in the day. Did I mention the lighting? I love the low to the ground light sources that produce those long shadows. That is a sense of style that I haven't seen in many games, and never in a RPG. One of my favorite alpha moments was fighting this huge Fallen boss solo for a mission and him coming around a pillar with this super long shadow on the wall behind him that made him seem larger than life. The vibration from his footsteps and hearing his raspy breath while looking at my low ammo supply and health as he came around the corner.. It had all the awesomeness of your best action games all packed into a game that satisfies all my weird cravings to keep me interested long after the fight. I've always had to have at least 3 games in my library to satisfy all these wants in a game. I dont have to swap games, friends, guilds, or progress any more. And I can't tell you how I sick of Fantasy RPGS I am. I can't compare it to HALO or Borderlands. Never played either, I respect that they were good games, but they just didn't grab my attention the way Destiny does. I'll be playing this game until they pull the plug on the servers.

I absolutely loved borderlands. It's humorous and doesn't take itself too serious. It was a terrific FPSRPG, and one of the first truly successful crossovers. But I do enjoy the more serious approach with destiny. Bungie is proven they have the passion and experience to deliver scifi/fantasy games and that compels me to keep an open mind toward destiny. Why can't you love both games.

Disagree and I'm not a "bungie fanboy" didn't like borderlands, the fireteam can be up to 6 except when specified by certain strikes based on what my screen said, had a decent time in the tower and was playing as a female character model. Never had anybody approach me just to see if I was an actual female. All this coming from a guy that was skeptical of the game until I put my hands on it. To each his own though
