TV should never be thrown in with gaming. This is the sort of thing that made gamers hate Microsoft, so why are Sony doing it?

The more interesting question to me is why is Sony being praised for it when Microsoft was kicked to the curb because of it? People want these things in their consoles but apparently only during certain spans of their lives. (Console lives that is.) Or so it would seem.

Because their entire press conference wasn't about TV?
-
The 2013 wasn't entirely about tv either... I watched the Microsoft conference that year as well. They included everything about the console including games. This year I felt sony did the same as Microsoft last year. Essentially the two switched what they showed between years. But only Microsoft got lash back.
-
No, Sony had a longer conference. They showed just as much game content as Microsoft, they just had extra time to show other stuff.

i got bored ti sleep during sackboy fest. did i miss anything afterwards?
-
Not after there games, I thought the playstation TV was cool but most people don't i guess.
-
I meant the other conference.

Because of the cash Microsoft is raking in through their media all-in-one with the 360 and now the One. Believe it or not, Microsoft rakes in quite the profit from having all of the media options in there with the games. Sony as a corporation (beyond the Playstation division) wants some of that cash to flow their way. The issue isn't that they are doing TV, it's how they're doing TV that is causing it to fail.

and hey, they're making you subscribe to TV instead of letting TV be free.
