Like I said, they should listen to their parents no matter the rating. Besides, you'd have to have some pretty butthurt parents if they don't allow you to play M rated games.
Or just Mormon.
• Butthurt? More like protective.

  • I hate it when parents attempt to shield their children from the world. Honestly, being so protective to the point they won't allow their kids to get a game like Destiny is crossing the line. Nothing a kid witnesses in Destiny will be worse than what they've already witnessed at school.

  • Say you accidentally ate a piece of poop, for whatever reason. By your logic, we should go I and eat more. Also, parents have the right to determine if their children are too young to play mature games. Most parents tend to make the mistake of letting their children play when they are way too young. This, I believe, causes some serious damage to their brain in areas like self-control and anger, because they cannot handle that sort of violence yet. My parents did not let me play mature games until I was 13 or so. I am so glad they did this.

  • I'm fine with parents being protective, if they don't want their kids playing M games, that's their business. I just believe that it gets to a point where an M rated game won't harm kids. It also depends on the game. I wouldn't let a 9 year old play GTA V, but I'd let one play Halo. Sadly, most parents aren't well-informed when it comes to video games, so to them, all M rated games are the same. Honestly, I remember being more angry when I wasn't allowed to get M games, rather than when I was.

  • I agree with you on some things. Like you said, a young child playing GTA is ridiculous. However, I would place the FPS limit more towards 11-12, depending on the child of course.

That seems like a fair enough age range for most FPS games. That's about when my mom started allowing me to purchase M rated FPS games, but I had been playing them long before that. ¬‿¬

  • Yeah I won't lie. I snuck in a little bit of Halo here and there xD
