They claim to protect the country, they claim to protect our freedom, they claim to liberate people from tyranny. It's all lies.
As I'm sure you all know, the US government is owned and operated by corporations and their interests. What the people want is rarely relevant to the decision making process. And the military and it's suppliers are the biggest interest of them all. War is big business, as the US spends more on it's military than anyone else in the world, and more than has been spent on any military in history. A lot of people make tremendous amounts of money through the military and it's never ending conflicts. Ever notice how as soon as one conflict ends, another one crops up? Not a coincidence. There are many extremely rich and powerful people who would lose a lot of money if the United States ever found itself in a period of peace, and those people work to ensure that we will ALWAYS be at war with someone.
So with that in mind, is it really any surprise that our military so regularly indiscriminately kills so many civilians? They WANT people to hate us, they WANT people to fight us, they WANT people to attack us, because as long as there are people who will take up arms against the US, they will always continue to receive those fat government checks. So they kill innocent people, they "mistakenly" bomb schools, they bomb wedding processions in order to kill a single enemy that was present. They do these things because they create more enemies than they kill, and therefore secure future contracts and make themselves richer.
From kindergarten, they make children mindlessly recite the Pledge of Allegiance, they hold up veterans on a pedestal second only to God, and they have successfully made the public view the military as infallible. To question the military is to say that you hate veterans, to question the military is to say that you hate freedom, to question the military is to side with the terrorists, to question the military is to betray your country. So stop asking questions, wave that flag, cheer, and together we'll defeat all those terrorists!
The military doesn't fight to preserve our freedom. Freedom is dead, and they're the ones who killed it.

You are 85% correct. The 15% you are incorrect is about the military knowingly causing civilian deaths.

It's obvious you have no idea how the military or the repercussions of civilian casualties work, or of the investigations carried out, the heart ache of having the blood of dead kids on your hands. People in the military have done jail time for less. I like it how you throw the "brainwashed" term around at anyone who disagrees with you. You are just like the people who through the "racist" and "discrimination" card around to give more drive to your argument in attempts to scare people off. I have served 10 years in the military, and during that time served alongside of US forces. I have seen all too well what happens when innocents die. When mistakes are made. A blind eye is not turned like you believe it is. The fighting occurs in the streets, in people's living rooms, in the market place. The enemy does not wear a uniform. They blend in to the crowd. They use it to their advantage knowing that if we return fire to even defend ourselves people like yourself and the media will turn it into something it is not and never was. People like you disgust me. And as an Australian I would gladly knock you the -blam!- out for speaking so poorly of your own countrymen. People who unlike yourself are willing to put their lives on the line for something you will never come close to understanding. If anyone is brainwashed it you.

Spoilers: you can criticize civilian casualties, wasteful spending, and corporate nepotism without being a flag-burning commie, or without thinking the typical serviceman is a bad person.

15 RespuestasI'd like you to do something for me. Go to your nearest recruiting station and sign up. Then go through everything that we go through and fight who we're fighting. Do that, then come back and day these things.

13 RespuestasEdgy teen alert. I dare you to say that to a marine or a Navy Seal.

Edgy as -blam!-. But you aren't wrong. I mean, obviously the Patriots and those who actively serve in their countries military aren't going to say it, because in order to join the military you have to meet certain requirements; one of which is to honestly believe that what you'll be doing is good. Now, as for the bit about intentionally killing civilians, there are some cases where that is actually pretty blatant. But not all the time.

I somewhat agree minus the absolute intentional civilian killing. The US has done nothing but start pointless wars after WWII, which is also a problem.

Editado por challengerX: 5/11/2014 9:36:51 PMI agree with you except for the part where you say they kill civilians on purpose. Apart from the nut jobs, they don't do it on purpose. Do corporations run the world and profit from endless war? Of course they do. Anybody who denies this is living in a fantasy and believes anything the talking heads on TV say. Still, I don't see the need to insult people who were sent to Iraq and Afghanistan.
